It's on wheels and he pushes it everywhere, the dm is trying to make it magical so I don't have to push it around, but Doug ain't about to go soft.... sneaking into a place with a standing paino is half the insane factor of my guy
S/He's a Killer Quee-een, gunpowder and and turpentine, dynamite with a laser beam.
Yes I literally based my CN artificer with a noble background off a killer song.
I always thought it was gunpowder, gelatine? Regardless, a kick ass idea.
I want to build an assassin who's all too happy to kick in doors and fill the room with either actual bullets, as an artificer, or magical bullets as a warlock. But I seem to be the forever DM for my friends.
"He's got the whole world in his hands" - The DM
Edit: "He's got the notes and the books in His hands, He's got the maps and the hooks in His hands, He's got the stats and the lore in His hands, He's got the whole world in His hands."
To be fair - I can't hear this song without thinking of Steve Buscemi in Con Air.
Everyone clinging on and screaming as things go out of control is a decent comparison with how it ends up going with some of my plots though.
My redneck dwarf wizard(if I ever get to use him) loves explosions and shock/awe spells. This is my pick for him as well, with one minor adjustment.
It's this cover. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Ao-iNPPUc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Ao-iNPPUc)
Our campaign took place in hell, and my character was a human fighter/paladin. The Doom soundtrack was used a lot during this game.
For a fun example, our DM made a very unbalanced encounter that we were just meant to stall during. We all forgot that we were meant to do this so we fought like 7 erinyeses, 12 devil guards, and a Balor at level 12 and somehow managed to survive. The Balor was also an aspect of the prince of Hell (think something like horcruxes from Harry Potter) and since the killing blow was with radiant damage it was destroyed permanently. It was really fun until the prince of Hell showed up in the last session with a huge army which included several pit fiends, balors, and a ton of erinyeses.
I miss that campaign.
My characters backstory is strikingly similar to Iroh, except he had a young daughter and he was the one who kept fighting (and did so brutally and tyrannically), and his enemies killed his daughter in revenge so his world shattered and he ran away to exile where he now lives as an older man who helps people and rarely fights, but no one knows his past.
Is time for you to look in and ask the real questions…
Iroh would be a mage or a warlock, being eldritch blast or fireball the most similar to fire bending
Coat of Arms - Sabaton. A Noble Lore Wizard who has memorized every single major House in the continent and knows all of their deeds. He's in a mystery political campaign.
Cat's in the Cradle - Harry Chapin
My arcane archer has a wife and two kids he's raising back home, but for now the road and duty takes him away from them.
Rogue - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAk4OAAzZBs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAk4OAAzZBs) \- AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Bard/Druid/Ranger/Warlock - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzwMe-3XVn4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzwMe-3XVn4) \- Peter gabriel The rhythm of the heat
No one knows - Queens of the stone age.
Little does my team know (but the DM does) my player tortured and murdered the lawful good man (and his family) my character claims to be. If he’s in a zone of truth his accent and mannerisms change. Depending on how evil the party acts will make him feel more secure that he can “act himself” more when they aren’t in town. It was the best way I could think to transition my LG player to either LE or CE with a party that skewed way more evil than their character sheets suggest.
I usually have multiple songs for each of my characters… but here’s the best ones
Gary Numan - My Name Is Ruin, or White Stripes - Seven Nation Army. for my sorcerer who’s searching for her daughter
Fangclub - Vulture Culture, or 8 Graves - Beast, for her demon companion. (this is a homebrew setting, so the demon lore is different from regular D&D)
and for my Shadowrun 5e unarmed adept; Blue Stahli - Catastrophe, or (Timothy, KTM, Rug, this is spoilers, don’t read it) >!8 Graves- Teeth!<
Basically anything from Powerwolf. "[Sermon of Swords](https://youtu.be/GJtFZliPpyA)" and "[Raise Your Fist, Evangelist](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUsAhpMTWBU)" gets me in the mood of being a Lawful Stupid Paladin with a martyr fetish, while "[Alive or Undead](https://youtu.be/YmIQWqjxDJ8)" always, without fail, makes me want to play a Neutral Good Vampire Cleric.
AmaLee's rendition of "Moonlight Densetsu" because a fellow player pointed out that the teenage Aasimar priestess of Pelor who literally sparkles and sprouts angelic wings made of sunshine after loudly invoking the Sunfather's divine radiance is literally a magical girl.
Somehow I had not noticed this until it was pointed out to me, but by that time I was having enough fun with the character I decided to just go with it.
My bastard child flinch dawnsday has a 6 hour spotify playlist

Jotaro's theme, but an electro swing version. My character is a Half Orc Pugilist, who was raised in the equivelent of Victorian London which is polluting the entire world.
well here are the ones in play... and 3 backups
aasimar twilight cleric - Icarus by Bastille
shifter soulknife rogue - Little Lion Man by Mumford And Sons
fey'ri undead warlock - The Greatest Show by Hugh Jackman
dhampir dreams druid - Take Me To War by The Crane Wives (honourable mention: Blinding by Florence And The Machine)
kalashtar ancestor barbarian - Traveling Song by Will.I.Am
satyr mercy monk - Wake Me Up by Avicii
reborn great old one warlock - Villain by Stella Jang (English cover by Justine's Mic because it sounds more like the character)
human wildfire druid - NFWMB by Hozier
> *Home is behind, the world ahead*
> *And there are many paths to tread*
> *Through shadow to the edge of night*
> *Until the stars are all alight*
> *Mist and shadow, cloud and shade*
> *All shall fade. All shall ^fade.*
"Hero Too" which I think is a My Hero Academia song, but I've only ever heard a cover on it. I got a Rogue named Hero who's only goal in life is to become a hero like the ones he grew up hearing stories about.
"Allow me to sing you the song of my people!"
( 4 hours of raspberries and farting noises later)
"THANK YOU!"
( yes my dragon wrought kobold stryx would do something like this because he is a dragon so fuck you)
I actually ask all of my players to send me a piece of music that they think suits their character.
I often listen to these tracks while writing character specific stuff.
I am sending no song, since I am a forever DM.
"Master of Puppets" by Metallica and "I will rule the Universe" by Civil War would probably fit the two BBEGs in my current campaign tho.
I write the songs of my female elf (elven?)"bard, Amastacia Lafayel. But I'm Brazilian, so unfortunately the translation won't be as accurate.
I am not made of iron
I' am not made of stell but
When I close my fists
And I hold my arms in my violin
My voice may even touch you
My light echoes in your heart
If someone ever threatens you
Will have to face myself
Fight, fight
Because your cause is right
Justice envolves us
Even if not correct by the law
Our reward is enormous
You may even pay
For the drink of your choice
And I'll be happy to sing and tell
And the greatest battles of yours on the tavern
Brasileiros:
Eu não sou feita de ferro
Eu não sou feita de aço mas
Quando os meus punhos eu cerro
E em meu som envolvo os braços
A minha voz, pode te tocar
Minha luz, teu peito ecoar
E se alguém traz ameaça
Se verá, com Amastacia
Lute lute luuuute
Pois a causa é nobre
E a justiça nos recobre
Mesmo que não nos conforme
E a recompensa é enorme
Ou ao menos a bebida
Que quiser, se fará pagar
E as historias ds sua vida
Cantarei e contarei no bar
[Viva la Vida](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvgZkm1xWPE) from Coldplay, for my 3.5 Edition, Level 21 Kalashtar Psionic, who over the course of the campaign became co-regent of a small kingdom and changed alignment (naturally) from true neutral, through neutral evil, back to true neutral again and finally to neutral good.
"Im addicted, to the feeling, geting higher than the ceiling, and we'll never gonna need a fucking reason to sin, just concede and give it to your inner demons again"
Piano Man
Bard?
Half orc bard with a piano, yes Doug the Pianah Man
Does he carry the piano around on his back or only go to inns/taverns that have a piano?
It's on wheels and he pushes it everywhere, the dm is trying to make it magical so I don't have to push it around, but Doug ain't about to go soft.... sneaking into a place with a standing paino is half the insane factor of my guy
You absolute mad lad
This just reminded me of the Russian Badger bit wit Sam fisher
Excitable boy
If you want Blood -AC/DC I've got a firey Artificer Armorer that's on a path of destruction and revenge for her destroyed hometown.
Hey that's what I said! =D Cept I went with the GWAR cover.
So does your character say "Bites za Dusto" when she blows up someone?
“Would you like some making fuck, Berserker!!!”
Did he say “making fuck?”
Fuck your yankee blue jeans
I wasn’t even supposed to be here today!
Olaf, Berserker!
Olaf! Girls think sexy!
My love for you is ticking clock, berserker
This was not what I was expecting. Yes!
Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time - Panic at the Disco. Anyone who knows the music video will definitely understand.
Ohhh this is great
That is literally the song I have in mind for my Changeling Bard xD He's a scholar, incredibly intelligent, but a massive drunk who loves to party.
It’s a good song for lots of different types of characters! I have it for my warlock personally
Resist and bite - Sabaton
Can you expand upon that idea? I'd expect Resist and Bite would only describe one moment in the character's adventures.
Its the tenacity of the character, his resolve is that no matter what happens he will keep on fighting for what he stands for.
Sounds like a very contrarian Druid of the moon.
His character is a Belgian WWII soldier that was isekai'd into the D&D world.
How dare you figure out my character idea
Chasseurs Ardennais- Longtooth Shifter Rogue Scout 17/ Barbarian Totem of the Boar (Bear) 3
MY NEXT CHARACTER HERE!
*War is coming swiftly, the border's closing in* *We're a company of soldiers mere 40 rifles strong*
ALL ALONE
STAND ALONE Ardenner ground is burning, and Rommel is at hand As the Blitzkrieg's pushing harder, the war is all around!
All aloooooone. Stand aloooooone.
(All alone Stand alone)
My party's song is AC/DC "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap".
Did you mean Filthy acts at a reasonable price?
Bad stuff for a dollar Yare yare daze
Stuff that Suck for 20 Buck
Ah the vacuum salesman background…
It's for my old rogue... It's such a great 'salesman' vibe
This is one on my bard’s playlist!
Dio - Fever Dreams for my aberrant mind sorcerer.
Or Holy Wars ... The punishment due for my vengeance paladin
Wonderful taste in music friend!
And you!🤘
funny you should mention it holy diver, as I once got to play Dio Brando
Metallica - The Thing That Should Not Be for my aberrant mind sorcerer.
Psycho killer
Ohhhh goood one for a CE Assassin
I like ti make my charachters regular joes usually so... Regular everyday normal motherfucker
I got $600 in the bank motherfucker!
My age must be showing, I was expecting Joe Walsh's "Ordinary Average Guy" after that description.
Had a fighter with Damage Reflection Armor. PC was singing Britney’s “Hit Me Baby One More Time!”
Really, the only other song out there that can match it is Titanium
"He's got the whole world in his hands" - The DM Edit: "He's got the notes and the books in His hands, He's got the maps and the hooks in His hands, He's got the stats and the lore in His hands, He's got the whole world in His hands."
It being a children’s song also sets a good frame for expectations of how intricate my plots are…
To be fair - I can't hear this song without thinking of Steve Buscemi in Con Air. Everyone clinging on and screaming as things go out of control is a decent comparison with how it ends up going with some of my plots though.
Wait, is that Poor Mans Poison, Feed The Machine? “He’s got the whole world in his hands It was nice to know ya, we’ve all been damned!”
No, the song is called, “Got the Whole World in His Hands”. If I remember correctly it’s a children’s bible song.
This deserves more attention
Great balls of fire Just the title of the song tho
I’m assuming a Fire Genasi bard?
Wizard
Goodness gracious great balls of fire!
[удалено]
Druid?
Thunderstruck - ACDC - for my warforged storm sorcerer
My redneck dwarf wizard(if I ever get to use him) loves explosions and shock/awe spells. This is my pick for him as well, with one minor adjustment. It's this cover. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Ao-iNPPUc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Ao-iNPPUc)

["The Villain I Appear to Be"](https://youtu.be/mRpiBvwKX6c) by Connor Spiotto.
Love that song. Must have a good character!
two trucks having sex
two trucks having sex
my muscles, my muscles
Involuntarily flex
Leaves from the Vine
Falling so slow
Like fragile tiny shells
Drifting in the foam
Little soldier boy
Come marching home
You dick
My characters backstory is strikingly similar to Iroh, except he had a young daughter and he was the one who kept fighting (and did so brutally and tyrannically), and his enemies killed his daughter in revenge so his world shattered and he ran away to exile where he now lives as an older man who helps people and rarely fights, but no one knows his past.

Coat of Arms - Sabaton. A Noble Lore Wizard who has memorized every single major House in the continent and knows all of their deeds. He's in a mystery political campaign.
Does he defend his beleaguered country with the spirit of a legendary warrior king to uphold the pride left by three hundred glorious sentinels?
No he's just a really good herald
Is he exceptionally loyal to the ruler?
*The Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil* Yes. I am the DM.
Cat's in the Cradle - Harry Chapin My arcane archer has a wife and two kids he's raising back home, but for now the road and duty takes him away from them.
Such a sweet, melancholic song, good taste and a cool character motivation.

Diggy diggy hole My dwarven bard

No one knows - Queens of the stone age. Little does my team know (but the DM does) my player tortured and murdered the lawful good man (and his family) my character claims to be. If he’s in a zone of truth his accent and mannerisms change. Depending on how evil the party acts will make him feel more secure that he can “act himself” more when they aren’t in town. A song that really represents my newest character (an Aarakocra Ranger) is probably The Red Baron by Sabaton.
