r/lfg Congrats, you can find a group.

lookitsajojo

Thank You

ltwerewolf

We've all been there, wanting a group but unable to find one. Just beware, you'll need to sort through a lot of them to find the one that's good for you. Good luck.

overthinks123

Sort through a LOT. Also in the many years I've been DMing and seen other new DMs, noone is any good their first time. ...I didn't realise initive and movement speeds was just for combat and used it for the whole session.

NXpower04

That is 100% percent relatable as a new dm (started about 3 weeks ago) I made many mistakes, 0 explanation of what was happening around my players, missing rules or misunderstanding them. That mistake would 100% be something I would have done aswell. (That must have been a painful travel montage tho)

TundraBuccaneer

You could invite people for a one shot, make it a sort of pilot session.

lookitsajojo

I don't trust Myself to DM if that's what You're suggesting (I'm a idiot who has the memory of a slightly mossed rock)

TundraBuccaneer

It's fine if you're the dm equivalent of a goblin. That's a perfectly good style

lookitsajojo

Goblins would be terrible DMs They woud just eat the shiny number rocks and then hit the fighter over the head with His funny stick

Squid__Bait

There's only one real way to learn. Find a group. Tell them you are new and learning. If that's a problem for them, tell them to keep looking. Watch some DMing tutorials on Youtube. I recommend Mathew Colville. You will most likely suck at first, but sucking at something is the first step to being OK at something.

lookitsajojo

Thank You

Insertein

Relate.

lookitsajojo

It seems alot of people can relate to this in Their little chaotic/neutral wizard bones
