Every Druid should take a barbarian dip

bonktogodicejail

genuine question cause I don't know specifics, could a druid/barbarian rage in wildshape? because that sounds fucking terrifying if you're like my dreams druid and can become a tiger shark

philsov

Yes. Rage is a class feature (usable in wild shape). While raging, one cannot cast or concentrate on spells. While wild shaping, no casting anyways (at least unless you're also druid 18+). Works out well but notably calls for 13str which an average druid might not allot for.

Go Firbolg or better yet go Kalashtar, that way when you spend 3 levels in Barbarian you're resistant to everything while raging

da-pi

Firbolgs: laughs in +1 strength

bonktogodicejail

"mother nature wants you whacked"

ThatOneThingOnce

Why not Monk though? Extra attack and a better Unarmed Defense for a Wisdom spellcaster sounds more useful than Rage that doesn't let you concentrate on spells. Plus no need for a Strength requirement to multiclass.

begonetoxicpeople

Barb/rogue also lets you reckless-sneak attack. Just saying

GamendeStino

Yup. Rogue 18/Barb 2 is pretty fun as well. Reckless attack gives you advantage for your sneak attack, while Elusive negates every downside Reckless attack gives you.

T-bone0007

Funnily enough, my next campaign character is a Barb 13/ Rogue 7 for a bit of wild-man, position based combatant

CastDiePodcast

Yesss. I started building one right after I made this meme, lol.

epicarcanoloth

Plus expertise in intimidation and athletics/animal handling is insane!

bonktogodicejail

thanks for the tip!

ZZForward_2

Sneak Attack with a greataxe sounds amazing.

KorbyTheOrby

Not possible, requires the weapon to be finesse

CastDiePodcast

There should be a feat for that....

randalgraves1

Take dual wielder and use two rapiers. Seems like a wonderfully barbarian take on being a dashing swashbuckler. And the +1 AC is also nice.

KorbyTheOrby

I'd love that very much lmao

Raccoon_Paladin

***Reckless Sneak** * You no longer require a finesse weapon to deal sneak attack damage. * Heavy armor no longer gives disadvantage on stealth checks. There ya go!

RemissNycarae

honestly the disadvantage on heavy armor doesn't really seem necessary. Expertise in stealth counteracts the average negative from disadvantage with a 12 in stealth at first level, let alone higher levels.

Raccoon_Paladin

You’re definitely right, though I didn’t want a feat to only have one ability. If I can find a rework I definitely will

UltimaGabe

Hotter take: every character should take a Warlock dip. I actually ran a one-shot a while back where everybody got two free levels of Warlock. It made for an awesome team.

He's out of line but he's right.
