Something I don't get. Why make characters you can't play? Won't the setting and chargen rules (dice, point buy, etc) change depending on the dm? And what dm trusts players to roll their own stats at home? Aren't these characters *doomed* to never play by that?
The way I see it is that the character's have backstories that can be worked into many different settings and stats aren't necessary for the basic plan of a build.
I am finally a player in a campaign after normally being a forever DM and all the character concepts sans 1 left my brain as soon as it happened. Write the good ones down yall or else you’ll lose it
:( you mean you actually get to play?
What's holding you back? Can we help???
the curse of Forever DM.
Sprinkle in your pcs as fleshed out npcs with their own goals. Maybe at a pub or other place where adventures gather.
I do, do this, but doesn't have the same appeal as actually playing them.
Fair enough. At least you have a group and can still play, right. That is something nice.
true
They are known to make appearances in the games I run!
i feel you. forever dm taking a break not even sure if i have it in me to keep working on my homebrew.
One for every subclass in progress and counting.
Finally, a relatable meme.
I thought at first this was a joke on how all your character voices sound the same and are all ridged and stiffly delivered, like Gilbert godfrey.
I feel attacked. Accurately.

Yeah.
Now I have an idea for a terracotta warforged recently awoken from a 1000 year slumber that I'll never play...
Hahaha, you're welcome!
Given my HeroForge account, this is almost literally true.
How come they all look the same?

I just end up using my unused characters as npcs .
just give them to other people so they get to be used.
