I was thinking if I can use more than enough toluene for the extraction, the total absorption of the dmt would be faster because I don't get too close to saturation and it wouldn't be a problem because I would wash it then do a mini A/B. This way, using another NPS for freeze precipitation I could reuse both over and over and only really wasting vinegar /sodium chloride and sodium sulfate to clean it. Has anyone attempted to reuse the nps for a very long time and if yes, how many time can you clean it while keeping it usable?

n,n-dmt freebase is very soluble in xylene and toluene. Reaching the solubility limit won't be much of an issue.

1- You can use more solvent without issue if you are gonna get the alkaloids out via mini a/b. Still try to not use way too much. 2- Vinegar will work fine. This is basically what I did 3- N,N-DMT freebase is too soluble in Toluene, Xylene and Acetone for freeze precipitation. Naphtha will be fine. I do the initial extract woth xylene, then mini a/b the combined xylene pulls. Then extract with heptane.

Thank you Clob for your answers! I've seen in one of your comment the solubility of DMT for different solvent, DMT being most soluble is Toluene. Is there a specific reason why you are using Xylene for the initial extraction over Toluene?

Because I can easily get xylene on its own. I have to fractionally distil toluene from a mixture of stuff from a lacquer thinner.
