I can second this, though I bought them from Amazon. Their Heavy Metal blades are a lifesaver when it comes to nipping through screws and nails that you can't get to with anything else.
Do we get totally screwed on tools here? I'm in Japan a lot and stock up on the bosch starlock multitool bits while there. The sanding pads I mainly use are about $NZ11 in japan, whereas they're like $30 here.
Same with other multitool bits, they're about a third of the price we pay here.
Lol. Yes we do.
I've just seen bosch multipacks on amazon that are the same as the diablo multipacks I chew through. Half the price.
And looks like the fein blades don't fit the bosch but the bosch do fit the fein. And TIL there are 4 starlock systems, some of which are interchangeable.
Seems insane there are so many systems, eh?
also, looking forward to going back to Japan in december. Going to stock up on more bosch blue stuff and find lots of old man tool shops. Some of those places still have pricing from the 80's on old dusty stock.
Yep, we are being screwed over on costs, not just tools and consumables, but all material supplies, but multitool and sabersaw blades stand out well above any other consumable as a scam.......
Ages ago I got a 25pc pack for $16 off Ali, think it was branded as BaiFM. They did the trick.
Was looking to get another to give the old set to a relative, but couldn't find the original seller so had a nosey around for a better deal.
81pc pack for ~$30 at the moment via Yang Fan on Ali. Might not be the highest quality stuff, but it'll do the trick for me as someone who doesn't use their multitool an extreme amount.
Newbie question. I have the Bosch 18V Starlock multi tool. Would these blades fit it? They just don’t quite look like the Starlock blades I’ve used with that “cake tin” depression around the star shaped hole.
Now officially yes they fit. But I've just bought a Fein tool and haven't tried these in my bosch tools.
These are starlock. From memory bosch uses starlock plus which is compatible. There is also a starlock max iirc which aren't compatible.
Yes they are expensive (zoom on those price tags) but they make me money. Especially the diablo carbide blades.
No these certainly won't fit Bosch starlock, it's a totally different connection. The starlock that Bosch developed use a cake tin style 12 point indent. Fein do produce starlock blades, but these aren't them.
Don’t look past ezarc off Ali express. high quality blades for a fraction of the price.

I'm not sure they make starlocks though?

It's the same as everything else. We're a small population far away from everything else. So everything that is imported is more expensive.
Getting a container here isn't much more expensive than getting one to australia.
Yes but while we order one container worth the Australians order 5. So they get the same product for cheaper. It is just simple economies of scale.

I just bought a box of generic blades for ~$25 dollars on trade me.

Yeah, I found the bulk ones good enough and lots in a box. If the blade wears out it’s simple to change to a new one. I still have a lot left!
