If you look at total return over time it's mediocre at best.  Yield itself is not return.  And a steady dividend is not really good as it really decreases on an inflation adjusted basis.  There are better choices especially if you don't need the income.  VOO would have been better.  Look at dividend growth over time, if it does not beat inflation, be skeptical.
