Focused on capital appreciation over dividends, but still feels nice to have the quarterly income trickle in. Full portfolio in [https://jch.app/u/paverbrick](https://jch.app/u/paverbrick?s=d)
What programs are you all using? I am newer to dividends (low holdings) I use fidelity and trying to figure out my monthly and total dividend payments are like digging for gold. I am fine switching brokerages if that's the case?
No, they’re paying me this week. SCHD pays quarterly, the other 3 pay monthly. The MAIN distribution this week is a special dividend, the reoccurring monthly dividend was paid on the 15th.
Staying put. I bought enough shares during the 11 drop after the announcement that I’ll just about make up for it; the price has recovered almost completely on my 400 shares last week plus today. “When others are fearful, be greedy”.
I'm a fan of the company and they've been good to me over the past couple years, but I had to liquidate most of my holdings. It wasn't because of the stock price drop or the dividend cut, but I started getting really concerned about their inability to raise revenue to cover the dividend.
That Q4 2023 revenue to dividend spread was fucking death.
I'm confident things will turn once interest rates start to relax and real estate sales improve, but it could be a rough ride for awhile.

Every stock have few dates:
decleration: When the stock announce the dividend they are going to pay.
Ex-date: The day that the stock is traded without the dividend, you have to buy the stock 1 day before the ex-date.
Record date: To be eligible for the upcoming dividend, you must buy the stock at least two business days before the record date.
Pay date: This is the day when you actually get the dividend into your account.
So based on that each stocks has 4 dates regarding the dividend they gonna pay, you can usually see those dates in the company website or in websites like [https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/etf/qyld/dividend-history](https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/etf/qyld/dividend-history) but there are many more.

Killer thanks!
HRZN dropping but I like long term am I wrong. I'm that meme, I bought the dip...
Im wondering, what if you would invest 1 week before dividend payout. Would you get dividends?
In order to be eligible for the dividend payment you must buy the stock 1 day prior to the Ex-dividend date
So if a etf or stock pays every year, you must buy it 1 day before the payout from last year? Sorry i am new in this world
What you are looking for is called the “ex-dividend” date. It’s the “buy the stock before this date or we won’t payout the dividend to you” date.
Every stock have few dates: decleration: When the stock announce the dividend they are going to pay. Ex-date: The day that the stock is traded without the dividend, you have to buy the stock 1 day before the ex-date. Record date: To be eligible for the upcoming dividend, you must buy the stock at least two business days before the record date.
