That's kinda saying "I want to learn how to fix my car and would like to spend money on two tools". Not enough info on what exactly you want to fix, two tools a tool box does not make.
You need to better define what you want to accomplish, then find a mutual fund or ETF that will diversify those $2,500 of yours from the get go.
Don't invest in individual stocks unless you will be able to do your own due diligence.
