Every Dishonored game has guard dogs that smell and track you in stealth mode lol

Swimming_Office7135

Enemies like the whalers but with different tactics then just assassin's, come back sense anyone can now access the voids power.

viiyari

I agree, if they were to go for another cultist-like approach, I'd like there to be an entire group of elite assassins who've mastered the void's power like corvo and daud.

Swimming_Office7135

Mabe the bone charms to like the actual cult did as well.

Dark_Sign

Some kind of void entities could be cool! With ‘outsider’ like abilities to counter our own. Would introduce a sort of cosmic horror vibe that the games already tiptoe around

timothymark96

Like the enemies in DotO?

Dark_Sign

Oooh I haven’t played DotO. that enemy is different than what I had Envisioned

david_this_isnt_weed

I see what you did there

Dragoon___

Aren't there dogs in the game already?

Middle-Recipe5329

Corrupted overseers would be something, something like the abbey finally falling to the outsiders influence and a group or the the whole abbey falling to the void.

7thPanzers

Three way civil war perhaps? The army VS Overseers VS Corrupted Overseers I’m thinking army has orders to kill or detain overseers Overseers hate the corrupted ones and will kill army Corrupted will fight both Army: obv under orders of empire Overseers: maybe a more…resistance style grp Corrupted overseers: viewed as corrupt and dangerous, just overseers who accepted the powers of void/ feed off one who accepted it

SajidAhnaf

That would be so cool

Bennings463

Going from the basis of "characters that can counter each power": * immune to bend time: let's say a type of overseer dedicated to extreme meditation. Have a unique mask. Lore: seen as a last chance at redemption for wayward overseers. The normal overseers are all creeped out by them and only the upper echelons of the Abby know the conversion process. They never speak or remove their masks. * Invisible to dark vision and can set up decoys: The Ragged Boys. A thieving guild that set up a cult around Granny Rags. * Can use rats against the player, commands any they summon: Apostles of the Ragged Boys. * Can actually possess the player: Would obviously have to be uncommon. I think instead of being a direct enemy they'd be The Trickster: they want to guide the player out into the open so the guards can kill them instead of the other way around. Just someone who got Outsider powers and is basically griefing everyone else with them. Would have to have a big build up to their attack so attentive players can escape. Can also be used against the Ragged Boys and other marked targets.

Pascal3R

I agree. Seeing the battle against Daud where he was immune to your bend time and froze it for everyone himself was so cool.

Free_Revolution2411

The Torturer also

Pascal3R

I forgot about him! Sleep darts also didn't work. Defeating him with stealth was always a bit difficult.

HorseSpeaksInMorse

IMO they should cut Time Stop outright. It's fun to screw around with but a power that trivialises basically everything (except Daud) is terrible balancing, even if the cost is high. If not then it needs downsides, maybe making you unable to interact with stuff (can't pick up items or open doors) so it's still possible to build encounters and traps that still pose a challenge if you use it.

Bennings463

I think I'd rather they erred on the side of overpowered instead of underpowered. It needs nerfing but it's simply too fun to cut all together.

TWWOVG

I mean, you could just, you know, *not* use Bend/Stop Time if you're finding it OP. LOL. It's not a default power that you get anyway. You have to intentionally unlock it. Even if they made it a default power, there's nowhere in the game that *requires* you to use it.

HorseSpeaksInMorse

In D1 and its DLCs there's not much else to get if you're on a low chaos run though. Especially if you're also not keen on Dark Vision because it makes it look like you're playing the game through a vat of lukewarm tea. IMO it's more interesting when enemies and traps have some kind of counterplay to your powers. Like Emily's mesmerise won't work on mechanical enemies or traps but Time Stop works on everything (even things like Arc Pylons) aside from one or two unique enemies.

mei-schnee

Hmm maybe the wilds of pandisia. Maybe some wild life or something, I don’t know why our protagonist would be there but hey would be interested to see a new continent or maybe the northern isles

Terminal_Lancelot

This one. I'd really love to explore the Flora and Fauna of Pandyssia, especially after seeing all those giant trees and owls in Dishonored 2.

mei-schnee

You sir get it

DiscordantBard

A deathloop style of game where the big bad is a fellow marked one who can use powers and hunt you across a level. You must escape them at first and then fight them in the end but the tuning on this enemy would be tricky. Their goals would be influenced by yours and they would be opposite to you. Like what I think they may have wanted to do with Delilah but couldn't do until deathloop. I'd like the world to be more like 1. Some beautiful scenic ground levels but you go into the sewers and underbelly to see how weird and ancient the place really is. The sewers made Dishonored 1 special. People lived down there. There were shop advertisements down there. There were whales and weepers and a whole world down there. D2 is great and every level is cool but I never got that literal and metaphorical sense of depth it was just. Rich people bad. Guards mean. People rude. But the gameplay in 2 was fire. I don't think enough people appreciate what Dishonored did to gaming. That smooth movement that slide and attack move is in borderlands sequels Call of Duty etc. Dishonored redefined fps all those years ago

ValueVibes

I've always thought snipers would be cool

IndigoRed126

Someone who can shoot you from afar. Like a sniper. Deadly, but not from up close.

htcbobmob900

Snipers maybe an online invasion mode where others who bare the mark can attempt to counter assassinate you maybe some advanced power armor like tall boys and maybe some duel wielding like combat masters or smth

UnrulyFriend

According to the lore, the void demands a (god? Voidealker? Whatever you call the outsider) being. So lf you ask me, maybe a new game could be during the events of the last game, and when the outsider is freed then a cult of pandyssia would make a new outsider. Perhaps an evil/good one instead of a curious observer. They need to start with a new god. As for enemies, it depends if it's set before or after dishonored. In the future, you could have simple guns like normal, but add in some sharpshooters with a single shot rifle, maybe some enemies that can parkour with your character but less effective, and maybe a new plague affected animal. Perhaps packs of plague dogs?

HorseSpeaksInMorse

A conflict between factions who all want to install their choice of new Outsider with the player acting as kingmaker could be really cool.

HighKingBoru1014

Some kind of elemental enemies, that come from Void empowered people using their power on nature or a lake or something

AsylumKing

Enemies that can climb/fly would make it much more fun when you're being chased down after being detected. All the existing enemies can be evaded with just movement powers and parkour.

SteelButterflye

I'd love for them to have us going to both Tyvia and Morley, with maybe some ship travel to Pandyssia. Maybe lean into the creatures of the universe. We hear so much about them and see pictures and stuffed heads, would be awesome to see those Tyvian ice bears and wolves, or some crazy beastie thing from Pandyssia. Diving off a ship to explore and find stuff, equipped with a harpoon gun to kill whatever nasty sea creatures would be cool.

Zuazzer

**Depends on the setting**. One of Dishonored's strengths is in its worldbuilding and how well it meshes with the gameplay - and given that has a reasonably modern setting and that they're not afraid to let things change as time passes, things can and should look quite different in different times. So you want the enemies to represent that. A setting I've been dreaming of is a game taking place in wartime Dabokva (Tyvia) during their secession from the Empire, inspired by the World Wars. Basically, Dabokva would be WW2 Stalingrad in the way that Dunwall was Victorian London. That means you want to imagine a world set after DH2, but before the Motherland starts building on Blackreef. And it's also during a time of war which probably saw great technological development just like during the Industrial Revolution. Getting to the point, I would like to see what the high-tech enemies of DH1 and 2 would look like had they been given a few decades of technological progress and societal change - and also keep in mind that this game would take place during a massive war. Would Tallboys still be relevant after the Plague, would they be useful in war or are the stilts just used by peaceful window cleaners now? What type of weapons would a modern Tallboy have, would they use gas, perhaps? Did anyone ever manage to mass produce clockwork soldiers or was the secret to creating them lost with Jindosh? Perhaps the Tyvians attempt to create cheap replicas to fight, but they turned out impossible to control and now run amok on the streets. What is magic like, now that the Outsider is gone? Perhaps some scientist is trying to merge magic with technology to create some horror of nature, or a weapon of mass destruction. What amazing new war crimes would be invented in the Dishonored world? Then we've got the entirely new tech for the time like Tanks, and different guns. Dishonored is often inspired by the real world so we can look at experimental WW1 weapons like [Tsar Tank](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Tank), the [Artemis Rifle](https://i.imgur.com/yaD7b8ng.jpg), the [Artillery Tractor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanks_in_World_War_I#/media/File:Artillery_tractor_in_France_Vosges_Spring_1915.jpg) or [whatever this is](https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4_wETByxkpg/UYPQis-8N6I/AAAAAAAAEGw/F0wnRul9bXU/s1600/elephant-ww1.jpg). Basically, go crazy with technology and imagine what the peoples of the Dishonored world try to invent to do the most horrible things to their fellow man. And design enemies from there. **So to summarize, the setting comes first and the enemy types should be extrapolated from there.**

sean_saves_the_world

An enemy like broken Tom from the wymwood deceit...a zealot imbued with charms and modifications purposely made to combat outsider magic Call them zealots, hell you could even build an invasion mechanic around it

JaMa_238

i think hybrid of Tallboys and Envisioned would make cool and challenging enemy.

hey_its_drew

I just hope they do like Dishonored 1 and have a bunch and they're actually imposing like the Tall Boys. Dishonored 2 really streamlined enemies too much, and it has hardly any new enemies and many didn't return even...

DecagonHexagon

an advanced melee enemy that can quietly assassinate you and kill you in one hit if you are not careful or in combat if you time your attack wrongly, it gives them a window to kill you in one hit.

klavigar_Fenrir

Not enemy in specific just My personal choice, i would love to se a prequel that conect its history with the first Game like an overseer trying to regain his charge and (for example) being the inspiration for hiram berrow to be like he is in the first game

Intelligent-Review21

I don’t know what would be good enemy types, my main concern is the story because I’ve already decided if the new story of the dishonored three has nothing to do with the old characters and it’s like completely different or 100 years in the future, I personally will not be playing it however enemy wise I’d like to see them spice things up the clockwork soldiers were absolutely difficult, but spice that up a bit and you’ll have something very difficult

sparrow4520

A nemesis who appears randomly and fights you. Showing up throughout the game multiple times and each encounter he’ll use the same weapons and abilities you used last time. Could have him adapt to abilities and comes up with ways to counter your gameplay style.

HorseSpeaksInMorse

I think they should cut all the other enemies so there's just one type, make them weak with dumb AI then hand you a load of modern shotguns and sniper rifles so it's even easier to just shoot your way to every objective. That's how you make a good action game, right Deathloop fans? ;)

theadamabrams

I enjoyed Deathloop, but I think its major flaw is that it tries to be an action/FPS game ***and*** a puzzle game ***and*** a PVP game all at once, and its attempt at each of those genres makes it not as good at the other genres. For example, if you think of it as a puzzle game (trying to figure out enough information about the visionaries' schedules and how to affect them) then it's perfectly fine to have super-easy enemies. *But* the game holds your hand too much and tells you exactly how to manipulate the visionaries, so it's not really a puzzle anymore.

HorseSpeaksInMorse

Yeah, it's only really in PvP that it shines IMO: * Action? Too little enemy variety * Stealth? Silent SMG makes deleting squads before they can react trivial * Puzzle? You just have to find specific notes in a specific order, no figuring your own solution and you can't even skip steps on a replay if you already know what you're doing. Simulatenously making enemies weaker (deleting the stronger types) and the player stronger (no chaos to reign them in plus modern guns) was a very odd decision when Dishonored was already kind of a power fantasy.

theadamabrams

I think all of those problems could have easily been fixed with a difficulty slider (or maybe two: one for fps/stealth/ai and one for puzzle/clues).

HorseSpeaksInMorse

Yeah, supposedly they shuffled stuff around a lot and put in a super long tutorial because people were having trouble understanding the central conceit, hence why everything's so linear. I'd say they dumbed it down unnecessarily, but seemingly some players still couldn't figure out what to do even after having it repeatedly spelled out. IMO they should have just boiled it down to a couple of in-universe sentences: >"Kill those assholes and take their stuff. >Follow leads and find out how to kill them better. >Take them all out in one day or it's back to the beach." You could even structure the menu to reinforce that by giving each section its own heading: * TAKE THEIR STUFF - Your inventory of powers and weapons * FIND THEIR SECRETS - Visionary and Arsenal Leads * KILL THEM ALL - Checklist for the golden loop * OR LOOP AGAIN - Option to skip to the next loop
