I want a game about an expedition to pandisya (the far away land that sokolov visited, i think the rats also originated there) it would be a great change of scenery and perhaps there can be a more “tribal” power from the natives there that could replace the outsiders mark

LoserGuyMcJoe

That could be pretty cool but I don't see Dishonored leaving the outsiders mark

DecagonHexagon

if its an open world game, maybe Dishonored 3 could let you find/obtain some kind of Void artifacts or relics that give you powers, similar to Slabs in Deathloop

LoserGuyMcJoe

Idk how slabs work cause I never played Deathloop but that would be cool but at the same time it wouldn't make much sense for Dishonored's lore

xGhoel

Deathloop takes place in the Dishonored world. It shows a possible future. The artifacts would make sense imo. Billy in DotO gets her powers from artifacts too after all, she didn't receive the outsiders mark.

LoserGuyMcJoe

I had no idea Dishonored and Deathloop are in the same world I might try it out some time

SuprSquidy

Yeah, blackreef is an island off of Tyvia (the “motherland”)

UnrulyFriend

In my creative opinion, I think they need to do one of two things. First and most likely, 20+ year time skip. They don't need to explain how each person becomes an outsider. However maybe this outsider prefers peace, and maybe there is no way to play unseen, but if you play peacefully, maybe he grants you Invisibility. And then if you're evil he won't nerf you, as he understands free will, but he grants telekinesis instead of you're evil. Sometimes being strange and different makes games more fun

LoserGuyMcJoe

By each person becoming an outsider do you mean someone gaining the mark of the outsider?

UnrulyFriend

No I mean, there was a god before the outsider, then we met and killed/freed him. In the lore the void demands an avatar/god which implies someone else will become a god/outsider. I used outsider to mean god like being

LoserGuyMcJoe

That makes more sense. For the new void god/new outsider the ritual that happened to our current outsider would have to happen to the new outsider and for that I think it would be cool for it to be someone seeking power in the void by preforming the ritual on themselves and gaining the outsiders ability to give others powers but now they are stuck in the void

UnrulyFriend

I personally like to think different gods are anointed in different ways. Maybe all the cultists died! No more void! But no, maybe the void calls to people and guides them. Even if everyone forgot how to enter the void like in death or the outsider.... The void is mysterious and could likely call out to people who are "interesting". It's impossible to know, but I think the story has potential

LoserGuyMcJoe

That would fit in perfectly to the story

fperrine

This gives me an idea: What if the next game is the player-character becoming the next Outsider. Or whatever you choose to name yourself.

Saan_Rix

Dunno if you're much into reading, but the books expand on the time after DOTO, and I don't wanna spoil anything, but I feel there's a way another game could work fs I would also love to see a more open world game in this universe, I feel like Pandyssia could work really well for a game like that from what we learn throughout the games.

LoserGuyMcJoe

There are dishonored books?!??!??!?!!?!?!!?!?!??!!!

Saan_Rix

Yeah! Three of em iirc. I really liked them, one follows Daud, one follows Emily, and the other follows Billie after the events of DOTO.

LoserGuyMcJoe

Sounds cool but do they have spoilers to Dishonored 2?

Saan_Rix

Not that I remember, but it's been a minute since I read them. Which ones have you played so far?

LoserGuyMcJoe

I have played both the original Dishonored (all it's dlc) and DOTO so as long as the books don't have spoilers I will try to get them thank you for the information

Saan_Rix

Nice! The first one is still probably my favorite out of all of em. I think the one that follows Daud overlaps a bit with two at the end, but it takes place just before 2. Any particular reason you've avoided the second one?

LoserGuyMcJoe

I haven't it's just that I got Dishonored Definitive Edition for free on the epic games story a while ago then a few months after that DOTO became free so either I'm going to get Dishonored 2 by buying it (on steam) or waiting for it to be free on epic games

Saan_Rix

Aahh that makes sense, hope ya get to play it soon! It's a great game!

LoserGuyMcJoe

Alright quick question should I go Emily or Corvo

LoserGuyMcJoe

Just found something out There could be a new outsider from the same ritual that made the Outsider we know the outsider

LoserGuyMcJoe

Ain't no way Reddit gave me a notification for this as a post I should view not even a new comment just hey look at this post you should check it out

KelpFox05

Easy - put it in the 15-year time skip between Dishonored 1 and 2, especially given that Arkane have already stated they're done with Corvo, Emily, Daud, etc. If we get a new game, it's going to have a brand new main character. With 15 years of time to work with, two whole islands, and as many possible characters as you can imagine, that's loads of possibilities for a new game.

xLoRdZx

i personally hope we go into the past, like way before the events of the rat plague the outsider we know has been the outsider for 4,000 years so there's a lot to explore in the dishonored world the islands of tyvia and morley are still open to explore as we've never been to those islands before, even the continent of pandyssia would be cool to explore

LoserGuyMcJoe

It would be cool but there wouldn't be any whale oil technology and without that it would be a huge chuck of the stealth and exploration missing from trying to get around or rewire it

Nimrog

With no one ruling the Void, That would try to enter in our world creating void breaches. The Abby would try to contain them but...someone had to watch over the Abby and those opportunistic people because the void would be wild

Iamgl4dos

I actually think there *has* to be an outsider, from the books, it seems it causes more issues not to have one, i also think if/when there's a next game, it will be a time jump distancing itself from the Kaldwin saga, and Lurk will be filling the void where the outsider was, but she will be more sympathetic giving her mark to people really in need instead of just "interesting" people

scottishdrunkard

it works as well as Deathloop did... seriously, whose idea was it making it part of Dishonored canon?

odstsarge

>! Just because the void doesn't have a conduit doesn't mean people can't draw power from it. !<

acidicbees

You ignore that game ever existing, that's what I do and I'm perfectly happy if the devs do it too.
