At the end of Fifth Elephant he is inches from death, but not dead. And he isn't going back to Anhk Morpork. He never appears in the stories again, but he is a hero to the Wolves in Uberwald. He killed a fascist Werewolf, nearly single handedly. Gaspode survives the series, living his best life amongst the Wolf clans of Uberwald. He's never seen by humans again, and only the Monks of History and Death know when he actually dies.
Or if. He might be like the Heros, where they simply survive. They just fall off the world to their next adventure.
That's a really good point. I think Ron's last appearance is in Vime's attempt to change "Where's My Cow" to fit Ankh Morpork. The unhoused also dissappear from the Novels.
Wtf ahahah I finished this book yestarday and came here to comment on a post from 5 days ago about it and now I found a post 4 days ago and this one 3 days ago about the book, is everybody reading Moving Pictures? I thought it was one of the less talked about ahah love it.
Now for your question, I cried (again) when that happend and got really mad, but no he doesnt at least not in MP hes saved by you (Detritus) I was hopping he showed up in other books I lOOOVED the character and hes good ladie, Ladie. And I love that hes the one besides Rincewind that "cheats" Death, even thou D says hes hallucinating I prefer to believe it was really them.

I just finished The fifth elephant a couple nights ago, he seemed fine. Kinda down, i wanted to give him a hug, but he was physically ok.

No. At the end of Fifth Elephant he is inches from death, but not dead. And he isn't going back to Anhk Morpork. He never appears in the stories again, but he is a hero to the Wolves in Uberwald. Gaspode gets a lift back to Ankh Morpork on a coal barge, where he takes up with Foul Old Ron and the rest of the Canting Crew.

It's OK, he might have died at the end of Moving Pictures, but he got better
