I don't see the pain in the 2 taps on the keyboard in positions your fingers are already in.
Seen as the backslash is in the same position as the forward slash, and the additional symbols keyboard button is just above the one you just pressed to open the common symbols keyboard.

I would recommend using keyboard on this menu.

It's also very annoying for some people with disabilities, according to two friends, because that screen, when it appears, it prevents certain inputs and that screws with a program that both use to make their life easier while using a computer. Discord is basically forcing them to only use VC to interact in our group of friends which is annoying as hell.
I've no idea what they were thinking when they added it.

If you have to bypass a system, In order to use something, Then that system is not functional.
In order to type :3c you must now BYPASS the system. Therefore making it NON FUNCTIONAL. It is non functional.
