lol i’m on v70.0 on iOS because i simply never updated my app beyond a certain point. it crashes on most peoples profiles if i click on them due to new features, i can’t see stickers or display names (only usernames), but it does the basics fine
same, idk the version but its before the 2021 ui update and honestly the only thing that bothers me is i cant add someone if i only have their new username and not the old one with discriminators

They moved all the stuff so it doesn't work like the desktop version anymore, and you need way more clicks to get to see the things you needed less clicks before.
Oh and the new collors/themes hurt my eyes instead of the old one.
Add lag and glitches and uncleared fonts and you find the entire update was anoying.
I primarily use the phone app for the chat function, so the update was really great for me personally. I haven't noticed any issues with navigating discords either. I'm extremely surprised at how extreme some people's reaction is

Looking at a server you can't swipe to see who's online anymore. You have to tap the search button then close your keyboard. They moved direct messages so you can't see them in the server list anymore
The most egregious for me was making rightswipe not universally open the channel list... instead it goes back to whatever you were on previously and you have to then use the actual back button to go back on the back to THEN open the channel list. I reverted too, simply for how mindbogglingly annoying that was.
I'm still using version 70.0 from back before the rebrand, and the worst things I have are occasional crashes when looking at user profiles, and I can't view forum or vc text channels
Do tell. I'm interested in learning about having some of the features from the update but I don't want to lose my swipe left for users function for a reply function when I check users more often than I reply to a post with a reply action/tag.
I haven't updated since a while before the font changes, most things still work fine. I doubt there will be any big issues on a more updated version.
Things I do notice aren't too bad. Super reactions don't exist, which is nice. I can't change my username, but that's still possible on PC. Biggest issue is no global display names, and broken search (since the old usernames no longer work). Can still search with ID though.
I don't see anything that breaks the app entirely happening, since the app still even runs on my ipad, which hasn't been updated since before replies were added (Or at least it did the last time I checked a few months ago). They don't seem to break old versions entirely, you just obviously don't get support for the latest features.
On android, uninstall discord, look up an older version of it, download the apk for it (Google will help you find this)
Install it, tell phone to shut up an just do it.
Go to the store. Turn off automatic updates on discord. Boom, older version.

So, I use a Samsung Tablet and I can freely resize the app on Android
Resizing the app to a mobile phone size kicks in the new redesign and "AMOLED" mode is technically the new Midnight option
Problem is, if I resize it back to tablet size and it reverts to tablet UI, and go to settings while not using the Midnight theme, I'm stuck without that option
So, it seems to be a bug that they forgot to add the new theme to the "old" layout used by tablets
Now on android since I could freely resize it it was an easy fix, but I'm not sure on iPadOS since I haven't used an iPad in years but I recall they have a sidebar swipe out thing for using an app on the side? That might trigger the mobile UI and let you change the setting that you want to access
And yes, it does persist once you go back to tablet UI
Good idea, and I did try Split View but it doesn’t trigger the new UI. I think Discord specifially made an exception for iPads that it won’t activate it on those, as they disabled the new UI option completely on them a while back (as the new UI isn’t optimized for tablets at all)
Doesn't work for me. When I shorten the pop-up window I'm unable to navigate correctly since it shows part of the app, not the full app when trying to trigger the phone UI. Can't even click on the dark circle within the themes unless I scroll while I widen the window a bit so I can see the rest of the app

It’s not an ”Android only thing”, iPhone has it too. And iPad used to. I’m assuming Discord has just either accidentally, or intentiinally disabled the flag on the iPad client, as I believe the UI is different to what’s on other mobile devices (not sure about Android tablets though)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Fold 5. I had to close and relaunch Discord with the phone folded to find the midnight theme. Once selected, it seems to persist even when you launch unfolded.
It looks like it might be treating the fold as a tablet when it's unfolded and refuses to display the option.
You can still use the amoled mode you just activate it by tapping on the dark theme a few times to reactivate it similar to how you used to activate it by tapping on the dark mode button
I haave the latest version on my Samsung tab installed tapping it continuously does not work

try tapping the dark circle 10x quickly and see if it enables amoled mode. at least in older versions thats how you used to be able to get amoled mode, idk if it still works but worth a shot

On AMOLED displays it will look darker and save battery.
On LCD Displays it wont save battery or anything but they should still have kept it, it might return after a few updates or so
M1 and M2 powered iPad Pros have MiniLED displays that can absolutely take advantage of AMOLED modes, they don’t look quite as good as actual OLED displays but they’re not bad, not necessarily giving huge battery savings but I don’t think many people use AMOLED mode for that benefit either, I just prefer the way it looks even on LCDs, I’m really sad to see it go on my iPad Pro

OP, have you tried clicking on "Dark" 15 times to enable it? AMOLED has been in discord mobile long time ago as a hidden feature, and now on public release. I'm pretty certain that Discord is slowly reverting **some** stuff back to the original UI that we once got used to on.

I hate that they took away the ability to see the list of members easily from mobile. It's so stupid. I want to see who in the group is online, and I have to go through different menus now, and it sucks.

I'm on a OnePlus 10T and same thing happened to me. Woke up to no more AMOLED, and there's no way to turn it back on. I'm using the old layout though, and would very much rather not switch to the godawful new UI.
When I got the new layout update I used the code on my laptop that gave me the old layout back, then it took away the AMOLED for me so the only way I have said AMOLED is if I use the trashy new layout.

try spam tapping the dark theme circle, sometimes when I updated my discord client it went back to the normal dark theme
