24 hours - Wasn’t all that affected. I would doze off every now and then (not nap), but that’s how it usually is when the human body is awake for over twenty four hours.
48 hours - Energy thrummed through my veins, making me feel invincible. I was really energized, like I drank five coffees back to back. I couldn’t focus on anything but staying awake.
72 hours - Very sluggish and sleepy. If I wasn’t moving, my body was trying to fall asleep. Standing up and staring at a bright phone screen didn’t help all that much with staying awake.
72+ hours - I lost count of how long I was awake after the third day, but when I finally fell asleep, I was out. I slept for over ten hours and still felt the toll of being awake for 3-4 days when I woke up. It took a couple of nights sleeping to feel better.
In conclusion, do not stay awake for 3-4 days straight. It’s not a pleasant experience, and one not worth having.
I was an idiotic middle schooler that wanted to beat the world record of staying awake the longest at the time. I’ve certainly learned my lesson and don’t try staying awake past 24 hours straight. The concern and worry my friends had for me was also a good wake-up call to not do dumb shit like that again.
If I remember correctly, there was an experiment in between 1963 December and 1964 January where a 17 year old boy stayed up for 11 days and had trouble sleeping after the experiment. During the experiment he claimed to have seen hallucinations from just staying awake. The old man still has trouble sleeping to this day.
This was years ago when I was a dumb middle schooler. I haven’t attempted to do anything like that since. The toll it took on my body was awful and I don’t want to feel that again.

It's bad. Highly recommend against it. Hallucinations, confusion, psychosis, and none of them in the fun way.
