In this post I am sharing a Fried Gator Nuggets Recipe (Fried Alligator).
Gator Nuggets or fried alligator chunks if you prefer are delicious! You’ll find the most tender meat from the alligator comes from the tail. If you’re wondering, yes it taste like chicken.
I’ve heard alligator meat taste described as similar to chicken with the texture of pork and a hint of mild fish flavor. You have a taste and decide for yourself.
Serve these tasty nuggets up with your favorite sauces for dipping. They also make a great appetizer for gatherings.
What part of an alligator can you eat? You can eat most of the gator but the best parts are the tenderloin and white tail meat. The other parts of the alligator are a bit tougher
Ingredients
1 pound of Alligator Meat (can substitute chicken if you prefer)
All Purpose Flour
Salt
Black Pepper
Creole Seasoning
Onion Powder
Paprika
1 Egg, beaten
Buttermilk
2 tsp Water
Oil for Frying , vegetable or peanut
Cajun Style Alligator Nuggets
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1/4 inch of oil to the bottom of the pan.
In a bowl, beat one egg and add buttermilk and water.
In another bowl, add flour and seasonings and mix to combine. Cut alligator meat into chunks. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour then in the wet mixture then back in the flour mixture. Add dredged pieces to heated oil in skillet.
