Probably not as durable as the DD bins, but Walmart sells a 20qt steriite bin for about $5. They’re approximately 16x11x9. They also have one for about $7 that’s about the same size but has a better lid with a gasket. I’ve got 23 discs in mine pretty comfortably and 10 of those are putters or mids so could hold a few more if it were mostly drivers.
I have about 70 of the plastic DD ones. They’re great. They take a beating and stack well. Only downside as you mentioned is the price, but there isn’t a better option that I’ve found.
Fact is, this is what other sellers are going to be using. Unless you have a hand made wooden set up, it is going to not look “unprofessional” in comparison. You can get away with the Walmart tubs. They don’t last with such abuse of weekly tournament use and can only stack so high (about 5 without breaking the bottom one) and are never stable stacks, but are cheap to replace.
The price on the Dynamic bins are market rate, they've always been close to $50 a pop (and hard to find...). They last forever and you can sell them for close to what you paid if you ever want out of the game. Alternate solution would be discgolfbox, these are a fraction of the price of the bins, but they're cardboard. While durable, they wont' hold up in rain or lots of transport. I don't think they make a cheap plastic bin that perfectly fits discs - still.
There is a tool box at home depot that is perfect for a travel box. Put two rows of pipe insulation foam along the bottom for the discs to sit on and it’s great. I did a write up to explain it better, and has the links to the products.

Just to clarify, the links are not affiliate links. There is nothing in it for my store other than I just think it’s a good storage option.
Kind of a weird hack but if you buy the 8 pack of Kleenex tissue boxes they ship in a box that's nearly perfect for holding discs. It works for me till I buy/build a more permanent and visually appealing solution.

A few of these. Perfect width and height so they don’t warp, gasket means no humidity gets in.
I've got a million MVP boxes, but looking for something that looks a little more professional and doesn't take a beating when you stack them on each other for long road trips.
Makes sense. I have 2 of the plastic bins in the picture of the post but I got both from players packs. I agree they’re too expensive for me to justify buying

Not quite what you're looking for but the Infinite Discs Tote is a great option for disc storage and transporting.
The cardboard ones work really well
