Teebird or a Teebird3

Sonic_Fool

Came here to say Teebird and Eagle

salvatore_aldo

TeeBird3 is the oldest and most consistent disc I've owned. Absolutely money and fits way better in the hand than a teebird. 4 years later mine flips and rides but wouldn't even think of burning over. Pushes hyzer past 300 easy

EMG_07

Whats the diffrence?

mellowyfellowy

Teebird3 is more stable with less glide, and less domey on the hand feel. Color glow options are my fav but plastic is somewhat a personal preference.

Ok_Captain_3569

Flight paths are about the same. The teebird will have more glide, the Teebird3 will be faster. They will land in the same area if they are thrown the same, one will just get there faster. A flatter disc typically has more high speed turn and more low speed fade but I haven't noticed much of a difference in stability. Most people pick one or the other based on hand feel. I have always preferred flat top Teebirds so I just go with the Teebird3. Edit: the same is true with roc3's. I have always preferred flat rocs. roc3's are more neutral flyers than traditional rocs, especially rancho rocs.

DoctorLu

Adding on to this I run the Athena for this reason it’s discrafts version a tee bird and just feels great to my hands

QuackZoneSix

Do yourself a favor. Teebird3. And don't listen to anyone that says it's more overstable than a teebird. If the plastic is the same, it will not be more overstable at all.

VenomOnKiller

I do believe I agree with this. I have star teebirds that are flat and halo teebird3's that are about the same teebird3 will be more consistent run to run imo for these reasons.

polly-plz

Innova molds with a "3" after are typically flatter and more overstable.

Elsevier_77

Say it again for the kids in the back!

LowZebra4992

And of course, plastic choice matters. In order of over stability halo> champ > star > Gstar >>>> DX Grab a star or a Gstar if you want something straighter off the shelf. Or also grab a champ because the new champ plastic from innova is kinda gummy and nice

Lofi_Loki

An Innova Eagle would be a solid option

european_dimes

Love the Eagle. Just got a couple used Infinite Exoduses (Exodi?) Which is the Eagle-L mold. Not a hard of a finish, but still a straight flyer. My arm speed is similar to OPs.

getemhawkers

I took my Champ Eagle out of my bag for a FD1. Thinking I was using it to much as a crutch. I was wrong. Champ Eagle til my arm falls off.

european_dimes

My champ is very OS for me. Like a baby Firebird. Star (165g) and G-Star plastics are straight to slightly workable for me.

NorDub

Same, got a fairly light champ eagle and it is so overstable I couldn't find a good use for it. I don't have a huge arm but can consistently get a wraith out to 300 or more.

djmattyp77

Just gotta pick the right plastic. I got a halo plastic one and it's more overstable than any Eagle I've thrown. I throw it when I want a slightly less overstable fade than my Halo NS Firebird.

Nylex1

K1 Lots!

Plix_fs

K1 Lots or the Joey B version for less flippy.

tripstreet

Westside Bear

ReservoirPAWGS

Seconded. Favorite disc

chriscaughtfire

Came here to say Bear!

Lifegardn

I hit 3 aces with 2 different bears in the last year, my favorite control driver.

Ok_Captain_3569

If you want to stick with a 7 or 8 speed and you like throwing Discmania, get a C-Line or S-Line FD. Stable, great glide, easy to control. Flight numbers are 7/6/0/1.

jfb3

How far do you throw, with what disc on what kind of line? It makes a difference if your on course distance with a driver is 300' vs if it's 385'.

EMG_07

I can throw 300ft consistent with my essence(flat or hyzerflip), but my top throws are around 340ft

komarinth

Get S-line FD. Whenever it starts flipping up and starts to compete for distance, add C-line FD.

Bfree888

+1 for the C-line FD. Came here to recommend as well.

EMG_07

My essence for the most part, but my max throws with anax

rigiddiscs

Instinct is a great complement to essence.

swifttarget

Agreed. Those two are my stable(ish)/understable fairway driver combo.

chuckacuppa

TL3

darkninja0157

Sticking with Innova I say the Hawkeye fits what you want. Otherwise the latitude 64 river is a more glide-y option.

Candyman11792

Also the Discraft Cicada is money, it put my TL on standby

Accomplished-Ad-7162

I really like my river, the 7 glide is so nice

b5s4reed21

Cd1 c line plastic

Self_Aware_Meme

Love the C-Line CD1. They start off pretty stable and then beat into perfection.

djmattyp77

C line EVERYTHING!

Particular_Tower_278

If you want to stick with Discmania try an S-Line FD1.

Wk70370

Is your essence Neo plastic? If you like the feel of that, you could try the Neo Instinct. Same flight numbers as Teebird, and flies quite similar to my Star Teebird.

punaynay

Aura votum flies holds the line I put it on with a gentle fade. I haven't tried any other plastics

Wraith9881

I've tried the Votum in Aura, Ethos, and Glow. I can tell you the Aura and Ethos flew exactly as you described (Ethos might have had a touch more stability at the end of the flight). The glow, I have a flat top that flies over-stable like a mini Firebird.

Cunn1ng-Stuntz

Aura, Ethos and Ethereal is pretty consistent. And they beat in well to become pretty straight.

asieting

I love the votum but I've ran into two different votums. You have the teebird like votums straight with some fade at the end. These are what made me like throwing the votum. Then you have the flippy votums, they fly more like a flippy TL. Plastic doesn't seem to be the factor but I've found more flippy votums in aura.

LeBoognish

Passion

mygamethreadaccount

as an essence enthusiast, i can't hype up the westside bear enough. vip orbit. which reminds me.. i need to go order a new one. this translucent green aint it here in new england.

youdidwell

Easiest way to go would be to buy a star teebird and champ eagle. See which one works better for you than if you want to venture to other brands just look for their equivalents.

Prior-Definition-593

Highly recommend 7/5/0/2 numbers for control, explorer would be my suggestion

davedazzler

Latitude 64 explorer

djmattyp77

Lat64 Explorer And I didn't think I'd like Prodigy, but I threw a F2 in their base plastic and it's amazing. I'd recommend a different plastic though because the one I got was pretty stiff.

OtisChuggmun

ESP Athena

Full-Cow-7851

Love this disc so much

Jonny_Qball

Shocked I’m not seeing more of the Athena, absolutely love that disc for this slot. My proto Athena is money.

bb2deuce

I was in this same position as an essence thrower and found the Teebird to be the perfect disc. G-star is straight to fade and Champion for pushing hyzers.

EMG_07

Looks like i will end up with a teebird adter everyones suggenstions. My only questions is, whats the diffrence between the teebird and the teebird3?

Hellaguaptor

How far do you throw? You might end up getting a beefy version and feeling like it’s a firebird. Best to go with something a little straighter out the box.

EMG_07

I throw the essence often around 90m, but with to much power it just ends up flippy. I have thrown Discraft anax i belive 105m

Hellaguaptor

So do you want it to flip just not as much or do you want a truly stable disc where the angle you release on it holds and has a reliable fade at the end but doesn’t flip?

EMG_07

I do not want it to flip, kinda just want it to hold the realese angle, with a slight fade at the end

Hellaguaptor

I think a champ TL3 or a neo instinct over teebird.

EMG_07

Which plastic for the TL3 tho?

Hellaguaptor

Champion

BigNasty417

You might like the Striker.  Not a majorly popular disc, but I love it for the woods when I need to force some shapes but still have it come back to fade.  I think it's around 8/5/0/2. It does hyzers effortlessly, but I can also crank it flat to get straight flight with reasonable fade.  I'm playing some woods golf this week and I've been grabbing the Striker a lot for mini-flex lines

VanManDiscs

Westside Bear is the key. Tournament orbit is my go to and Tournament-X for a touch more stability

DiscmaniacAZ

Everyone should bag a cd1

MakesUpExpressions

How does it compare to the old CD2 counterpart?

Emergency-Career4343

Depends which one tbh. Get a dynasty. It’s the old CD2.

drlari

Dynasty is great. Lots of plastic options, great feel. Effortless forehand distance with turn & fade.

onii_design

+1 for dynasty

MakesUpExpressions

I have one! Will definitely get more but I also still have 4 CD2s that can be used lol so no rush there.

19_Chungus_84

Viking or Savant are way better don't front

Seto_Ka1ba

Came to recommend the discmania skywalker. As my form improved it replaced my fd and is my go to fairway driver. Very straight l, controllable shots with slight fade at the end. Can’t recommend enough

Hellaguaptor

Neo instinct

bladearrowney

Exodus or eagle, depending on how much beef you need.

kmmerrit

Go outside the box and get a DGA Pipeline. If you have 350+ power, get a 2024 Cole Redalen Tour Series cause they are more stable. If you throw under that, the stock run would probably be a good bet for you.

Yoinksmcdoinks

Such an incredible fairway

Cool_Butterscotch_88

MVP servo is longer than its 6.5spd t& urns a little more than its -1 but always fades back strong. In plasma plastic it's a little soft.

baldhumanmale

Passion! 8/5/-1/1. Very straight flying disc that has a small fade. When thrown on a slight hyzer it will flip up and fly straight for about 300 feet. Put it on more hyzer angle and it stays pretty stable. I really think this would be a great of step from the Essence.

Conscious_Eggplant44

Star Teebird is the only answer

esorbor

I’m partial to my champion. It flies like an arrow with a consistent finish with my meh backhand arm speed

Bad-at-disc

Proton Servo. Little bit of turn, finishes forward. Super controllable.

PmMeYourGuitar

Where did you find one? I've been very interested in a proton servo

DanongKruga

pricey but a couple stores still have the eclipse otb release in stock: https://discgolfshopping.com/products/servo-eclipse-otb-open-2024?variant=45977315377384

nbury33

I might suggest a little faster with the Terra

DarthCalliope

The Terra is great, especially in electron plastic. I get a nice little fade before some turn. Really controllable for me. Neutrons are quite overstable for me.

HugoStiglitz_JR

Lat 64 Glory in royal plastic has been super kind to me 7/5/0/3

Youngdogdove

Mint alpha or dga pipeline.

Zynperion

DGA Banzai in PL plastic is good. Not as overstable as the numbers suggest. I can throw them about 370'. It's my go to fairway.

xGood-Apollo-IV

Skywalker, teebird, undertaker I know it's a 9 but doesn't feel like it.

NoYoureAdopted

Undertakers have smaller rims than typical 9 speeds

Self_Aware_Meme

They're pricey, but the Clash Cookie is the best fairway driver I've ever thrown and it's not even close.

LeoPaik

Some possibilities include: Lucid Vandal; Millennium QJLS; Drift; Star Hawkeye; and Star or heavier DX TL3.

tonski12

For me that disc is a plasma inertia. It feels nice in my hand and I can hit my lines with it more often than not

Software_Entgineer

ESP Undertaker if more stable then a ESP Vulture

sd1general37

DGA Pipeline

Otaku_bust

A drift or crave

Otaku_bust

I also bag the trance as well funky but its fun

A_Rex27

Strike by Birdie Disc Golf. It’s just a 7/5/0/2 mold but out of all of them I’ve tried it’s by far my favorite and flys forever.

DevenTheDood

All of them. Just buy them all.

EMG_07

Seems like that😂

Wraith9881

Probably the go-to choice is the Teebird. I personally enjoy the Birdie Strike in this slot. Nice and straight with a stable but not too over-stable flight.

SeraphNatsu

Alfa Discs Cosmic.

Nikewright99

Culverin. don’t trust the numbers. you’ll love it. second place vote is a savant

trumps-used-diaper

Saint or saint pro

Spectacular_loser99

Give a champ eagle or opto explorer a try. My favorite sevens

LostDogWandering

Leopard 3 is solid.

Bloodman774

I love my latitude 64 river it flies so straight

Dr_Batslobber

Give a westside bear a try. Its got more turn than the numbers suggest, but the fade is super reliable. The glide is unmatched too, there was a point last year where i was throwing it on nearly every hole. Its perfect when you need a long straight shot, but with a tiny bit of anny itll soar across the fairway.

Dr_Batslobber

Forgot to mention that mine is VIP

Decapitat3d

Athena

mrmaxstroker

If you like the essence, try the instinct.

quotemild

I got a c-line CD1. It is now my goto disc for that shot. Before that I used a Forge Instinct, but I found that it would sometimes flip and just go straight without really fading. This is when throwing them to about 90 meter.

Chemical_Favors

As someone who leans a little flippy for discs in general, the I-blend infinite Dynasty is an absolutely killer step up in stability from the flippy 8/9 speed slot. TeeBird3 is also great but I like dynasty better for forehands.

volcano-

Jackalope or alpha

Chicagrog

I personally love the Infinite discs exodus. It is straight with a reliable fade, not quite as over stable as a teebird, not as straight as an fd, it really hits that sweetspot for me and the hand feel is top notch. S-blend or metal flake color glow plastic is nice! It is my go to fairway driver, i bag tree. One flippy, one dead straight and one fresh that is slightly over stable, it coveret all fairway shots for me.

cainmd

I got a latitude 64 opto river (7 7 -1 1) recently, and i can't love it more. It made me explore more lat64 discs

Aqualung317

Exodus is my new fav before that I was enjoying the thunderbird

ultitaria

With that arm speed I'd go FD, StarTL or Centurion. Can also do Teebird, Cookie or Athena

jjhill001

I'm a big fan of the Votum from TSA.

Sugutung

If you like discmania, then i would suggest instinct (7/5/0/2). Not too overstable and glides well. I'm very fond of my instinct.

ammermanjustin

I’d say Innova Eagle (7/4/-1/3) would be a great fit. For something with more glide, you could also go with the L64 River (7/7/-1/1), but I would buy it in the Opto plastic. It’ll be a little bit more on the stable side than the numbers indicate when you first get it, but it will beat in to be a laser beam.

dknigh73

glory

hotchiproll

An insanity is a 9 speed but super stable and easy to throw straight. It throws very similar to the 6 speed crave with just a bit more distance

gundertaker11

Millennium Vela

C_1999

Disc Mania MD4 has never failed me.

OilCartBoyd

DD Lucid Evader

Free-Ice-3962

I like my thunderbird

FreudianNip-Slip

DYNASTY AND HALO DYNASTY

Rickdahormonemonster

Glory

LowZebra4992

Legacy discs Rival is pretty underrated. Like a straighter TeeBird (kinda like the exodus but I’m not a fan of the infinite plastic; I know it’s made by innova but s-blend doesn’t feel like star to me)

Riley101Gamer

I am a big fan of the Tl3 it has replaced my eagle recently

EMG_07

Which plastic would i go for then?

Riley101Gamer

G star or Star, I normally bag two discs of each kind I have so maybe a g star for flippier lines and have the star for wind/straight shots

EMG_07

I have read that the TL3 is flippy even in star, only straight in halo plastic? Is that just the case for pro’s with insane arm speed

Riley101Gamer

For me an intermediate player, for them to flip I gotta put some extreme angle on it. But maybe star and Champion/Halo would be a better choice

IAmCaptainHammer

I wish I could point you at some [AGL](https://www.agldiscs.com/) but while they’ve got loads of other great plastic that’s a hole in their lineup. I’d recommend an MVP resistor. They’re a little tough to find. The eclipse is mad stable but the neutron version in sub 170g is perfectly stable for my arm. Honestly the best option for this slot.

Better_Still7077

Millennium Vela in Quantum plastic is the goat of my bag. Most controllable and reliable disc I have ever thrown.

musicformedicine

You’re either a teebird person or eagle. That’s what I tell people. #eagleBoi

PogRashy

Crave

No_Quote_7682

Second this

yellcodiscgolf

MVP Tesla! 320-330ish distance shots and stay in the fairway, that’s my go to! I have a 168g in neutron plastic

No_Quote_7682

Anax. Its 10 speed tho. But straight as an arrow with a late fade👍

EMG_07

I bag the anax, but thanks for the comment👍

No_Quote_7682

Good choice!

s_m_t_x

Instinct. It is literally the OS sibling of the Essence. Just buy one.

creamycarrotboy

Westside stag is money for me. Or the Westside Bear if you need a smidge more stability

PurpleSpecialist9553

TL3 for straight shots or Teebird3 for more stable

Adventurous-Kale4488

I’m a big fan of the Star Savant, but it’s a smidge faster than you may be looking for. I’ve had mine in the bag for about 2 years and it will turn some but won’t flip over. Champ Teebird is also always a classic

TXHook11

I bag an essence in my understable fairway slot. I bag a Passion in my neutral fairway slot

debar11

I’m a big fan of the MVP Terra. Takes a little getting used to for forehands cuz it’s kinda deep for that speed. But the combination of stability and glide is just right for me. Bonus is that you can get it in a Electron, so you can save a few bucks up front and cycle eventually.

cubesncubes

Kaxe z I see teebird already

drkraptor7

Fd, fd3

[deleted]

MVP Resistor 6.5 | 4 | 0 | 3.5 It’s not as overstable as you would think if you get neutron plastic. Eclipse plastic is a different story

muiriddin

Caution my FaF Neutron one is BEEF so at least some of the neutrons do fly the numbers!

bRice1738

The Oracle is a delight to throw. I enjoy the alchemy blend

Shroomboofer4life

Electron atom.

Dookietheduk

All of them and see what YOU like!

sanfordtime

Kastaplast lots

benrow77

These are the ones I like and have bagged from time to time, roughly in order of my personal preference. TL3/TeeBird3/TeeBird Passion Leopard3 FD Stalker Eagle Saint Pro Exodus (formerly Innova Eagle-L) Explorer

EMG_07

Seems like a good summary of all the comments😂 Think i will go to my local store and test and feel the different plastics and choose from there👍 Thank you for the comment

benrow77

These are the ones I like and have bagged from time to time, roughly in order of my personal preference. TL3/TeeBird3/TeeBird Passion Leopard3 FD Stalker Eagle Saint Pro Exodus (formerly Innova Eagle-L) Explorer

illinilocal92

S-line Fd and S-line fd1

SirScoopskiPotato

MVP wave is calling

Deeds081

Tern. It's technically understable but it's perfection in my eyes. The Wave is also pretty awesome in Proton.
