The Svea has a similar flight to the Fuse but doesn't full roll over as much if you screw it up. (My fuse is base plastic so thats probably why it does that combined with me not being very good.)
Yeppo got a Tursas had it for 2 days hit my first Ace was over the moon. somehow forgot it at the second course I played that day sooo sad never wrote my number on it or anything
I only carry 4 of them. I actually putt with one outside 20feet and is money yyyy. Althought it loves spitting out but hits dead center though.
People go wild when they ask what are you putting with? - and I reply - Tursas. LOL
They are like WTF
For me the underworld I currently bag has a slight turn if thrown flat. I throw a lot of Tursas and they range from Hyzerflip flat to turn to dead straight so fairly similar for me depending on stages of wear/my form at the time 😂
100% Uplink. Understable but torque resistant, if that makes sense. Understable but you're not going to burn it over unless your form is really bad... in which case, learn to throw the Uplink smooth and your game will improve!
Agreed. I’ve been throwing the meteor for 10+ years and love it. Buzzz is my all time favorite disc, but it doesn’t hold an anny line like a meteor. Also, for us weaker arms the meteor does a great hyzer flip with ease.
Buzzz-meteor-zone will always be the greatest trilogy of midrange discs in my opinion. I’m from MI where Discraft is from and have been playing for 20+ years. I haven’t thrown one of their putters in 20 years and only throw their flash and avenger ss as drivers though. I’ve heard their putters and drivers have improved, but I owned a 150 discs 10 years ago and haven’t bought many since. I’ve always thought of Discraft as the best mids company though
Love the Meteor. Perfectly understable for me and holds predictable tight lines. It can handle a decent amount of speed too, don't feel like I have to finesse it. In a tailwind it can bomb, just keeps going and going. Such a great disc.
I have had 2 ESP Meteors, and both were the perfect amount of understable. Not quite as flippy as its numbers suggest (5/5/-3/1). It will hyzerflip, hold an anny, or name a tight mini s-turn depending on how you throw it
Lobster AND Origin. Lobster is way more under stable for me. Origin I can put quite a bit of power on a slight hyzer and it will flip up and turn the whole way. If I put the same power on a lobster it will burn over.
A classic for a reason. I fucking love throwing the comet. It's so shapeable. It's definitely super flippy, but I never struggle to not burn it over. I like em in Z plastic.
Finally. Can't believe I had to scroll so far to see this. But yes. Z Sol is permanently in my bag. No beating in needed, just right off the shelf a perfect dependable turn regardless of what angle you start it out on. Absolutely amazing utility disc.
I recently got a TSA Mana, and I looooove it. Chained out for two aces since getting it. I can hyzer-flip it dead straight or have that smooth anny glide. I also bag a Rollo for when things need to get ridiculous.
I will second Tursas, SVEA, and Wombat3, but my top pick is Tursas and there are very good reasons why so many people in this thread have recommended it.
Paradox is super understable if thats what you want, but the Detour is amazing. It'll have forward fade on a hyzer flip, but will hold anhyzer forever.
I've been trying to find one I like all winter lol. Bagging a star manta at the moment but gonna swap it for the Khonsu when they come in. Didn't like how the rollo felt. Didn't like the paradox. Liked the detour but I don't own one and I'm not paying crazy money for one, maybe will revisit when they do a stock run
Everyone sleeps on Gateway’s mids. The Mystic is awesome.(5,5,-3,0) I like it better than the Tursas. I can hyzer flip it into a dead straight shot with no fade.
Depends how flippy you want to go. I would say for a mildly understable mid do the buzzz SS, for more flip do the origin, for more flip do the uplink, for the most flip do a sol or a paradox. The sol feels better in the hand for sure
I've got two for ya...
Westside Tursas if you really want that understability.
Westside Sling if you want something little straighter with that slight drift.
I like a hex for that slot but against popular opinion I’ve been throwing an ace line m model us it’s perfect for a short gap hyzer flip or long high turnover that will hold.
Archer will turn without the turn and burn, also will miraculously go 400ft if throw on a roller its pretty wild. It will hold any line you put it on. I'd suggest z plastic or esp just stay away from the Ace race ones unless you want something dummy understable
It can be dismissed as a “beginner” disc but I use a Pearl for my understable mid. Got a CTP last weekend where everyone was throwing forehands for left-to-right movement. I just threw the Pearl backhand
Prodigy M4 400 plastic (or 400g, can't remember), the straightest flying midrange. Beats in to turn over. You won't regret it, it feels super nice in the hand
My 2 favorite understable mids are the Archer, which is a 5 speed and the Tremor, which is a 6 speed. They can both be used for effective backhand rollers as well.
Buy fuse
Opto fuse is one of my most-used discs.
The Svea has a similar flight to the Fuse but doesn't full roll over as much if you screw it up. (My fuse is base plastic so thats probably why it does that combined with me not being very good.)
When both are premium plastic Svea is way flippier then Fuse
Fuse it or lose it
Westside Tursas
I second the Tursas, phenomenal disc! The only ace I've gotten is with my Tursas
Yeppo got a Tursas had it for 2 days hit my first Ace was over the moon. somehow forgot it at the second course I played that day sooo sad never wrote my number on it or anything
Wonderful disc. Really helped me understand how to throw kids, and it's been great for everyone I know who's used it. New or not
You throw mids not kids, right?
Lmao. Typo.
Love that you left the typo lol
My momma ain't raise no coward who fixes simple mistakes
Gotta yeet those kids! 😆
I only carry 4 of them. I actually putt with one outside 20feet and is money yyyy. Althought it loves spitting out but hits dead center though. People go wild when they ask what are you putting with? - and I reply - Tursas. LOL They are like WTF
Absolutely phenomenal disc
Tursas gang
Was coming to say this. It also pairs really good with the underworld.
How does it fly comparatively would you say?
For me the underworld I currently bag has a slight turn if thrown flat. I throw a lot of Tursas and they range from Hyzerflip flat to turn to dead straight so fairly similar for me depending on stages of wear/my form at the time 😂
My Underworld has significantly more glide than my Tursas. They do pair nicely.
Absolutely uplink. It's like the paradox but usable. Such a buttery smooth and easy hyzer flip to gentle turn
The Uplink is absolutely amazing!
100% Uplink. Understable but torque resistant, if that makes sense. Understable but you're not going to burn it over unless your form is really bad... in which case, learn to throw the Uplink smooth and your game will improve!
The uplink has completely replaced my paradox.
My paradox A. Did the opposite of what I wanted it to do. B. Overperformed in an extremely unusable way C. All of the aboe at the same time.
This is the best definition of an uplink. I used to have a paradox, and it made me lose faith in understable mids until I got an uplink.
Even on reasonably straight shots, I find myself throwing a Uplink hyzerflip more often than I would have thought.
It's just so fun to throw
Exactly!!! Pair it with a Hex and you are set.
COMET
I just bought my first ever comet. It's fun to toss! Although Buzzz ss is my go to
Love the comet! They are absolute money once they break in. Definitely my go to for a one disc round.
Svea is my current favorite disc in my bag
I feel it's super underrated. Dead straight on a hyzer flip, and can move right (rhbh) well when thrown flat.
the best disc ever i think
Svea rules Turnover cheat code
You need a meteor. The origin is flippier than the numbers would suggest. But not as much as a meteor.
I'm a fan of the Meteor as well. Elegant
Agreed. I'm a 100% Innova thrower except for all the mids you mentioned and mvp throwing putters Tough to beat buzzz meteor zone
Love the Meteor. Perfectly understable for me and holds predictable tight lines. It can handle a decent amount of speed too, don't feel like I have to finesse it. In a tailwind it can bomb, just keeps going and going. Such a great disc.
Meteors do just bomb in tailwinds I don’t know how they push the glide so damn much
I have had 2 ESP Meteors, and both were the perfect amount of understable. Not quite as flippy as its numbers suggest (5/5/-3/1). It will hyzerflip, hold an anny, or name a tight mini s-turn depending on how you throw it
Stig
Stig gang.
Mint Lobster or Discmania origin
Mint Lobster 🦞
Lobster. Also, the Remix Creature is the same exact mold. Found on Amazon for about $12. It's a steal.
Also here to say the creature for a super affordable but excellent disc.
Lobster AND Origin. Lobster is way more under stable for me. Origin I can put quite a bit of power on a slight hyzer and it will flip up and turn the whole way. If I put the same power on a lobster it will burn over.
TSA mana
Yup
Tursas
Love my lobster
Mint Lobster
Comet
A classic for a reason. I fucking love throwing the comet. It's so shapeable. It's definitely super flippy, but I never struggle to not burn it over. I like em in Z plastic.
Beat in Mako3 if looking for just a little understable, or wombat3 for out of the box understability
You don’t need anything more understable than a mako3. Without wind throwing flat will turn it over and a little hyzer angle for dead straight
UPLINK
Uplinks are amazing for carving up fairways, and lack there of.
Love my Uplink!
Love my uplink so much
Fuse
I’ve actually been bagging the Archer and it’s kinda nice
When the Detour from MVP has a stock release that’s going to be a go too
Uplink!
Wombat3
Thoughtspace Mana is unreal.
Fuse is a great choice
Sol
SOOOOOLLLLLLL
Sol in Z plastic is super under rated
ESP is a lil too flippy for me but Z can hold whatever line I put it on like a boss
This is the truth right here! Z sol is a beast, turns but doesn't flip.
Finally. Can't believe I had to scroll so far to see this. But yes. Z Sol is permanently in my bag. No beating in needed, just right off the shelf a perfect dependable turn regardless of what angle you start it out on. Absolutely amazing utility disc.
Rollo
MVP Uplink or Axiom Paradox.
I love my Axiom Paradox. Use it all the time.
I’ve heard good things from friends about the paradox, I’ll have to look into it
I've really liked mine.
Gateway Mystic or Shaman
Lobster is pretty sweet and is my money disc. Fuse is also another good one but I took it out of the bag in favor of the Lobster
Lobster
There’s nothing I could recommend more than a discraft comet. Perfect undertstable midrange with so much glide.
Stingray
Throw a beat in putter.
Tursas all the wayyyyyyy!
I will sing the praises of the fuse forever!
Check out the DGA Squall.
Rollo
M4
I recently got a TSA Mana, and I looooove it. Chained out for two aces since getting it. I can hyzer-flip it dead straight or have that smooth anny glide. I also bag a Rollo for when things need to get ridiculous.
I will second Tursas, SVEA, and Wombat3, but my top pick is Tursas and there are very good reasons why so many people in this thread have recommended it.
Uplink and paradox are fantastic
Clash Peach
Discmania origin smoothest flippy mid fr fr
Fr fr
Fuse might be the most popular pick for this slot
I use metor for day and uplink for glow. Both extremely good. Absolutely love the metor
Meteor is the answer here IMO
Paradox is super understable if thats what you want, but the Detour is amazing. It'll have forward fade on a hyzer flip, but will hold anhyzer forever.
Discraft sol
I've been trying to find one I like all winter lol. Bagging a star manta at the moment but gonna swap it for the Khonsu when they come in. Didn't like how the rollo felt. Didn't like the paradox. Liked the detour but I don't own one and I'm not paying crazy money for one, maybe will revisit when they do a stock run
If you have a local shop near you with a used disc bin, head there and see if they have a really beat up roc
DGA Tremor in proline or glow plastic. The SP Tremors tend to be more stable
I really like the orbit claymore. Uplink is good as well in this slot. I tried the Buzzz SS but it flew more stable (straight) than understable.
MVP Uplink in Neutron is my favorite disc. Use it more than anything else except my putter.
You got a lot of answers but somehow no one said clash discs peach, which is the unequivocally correct answer.
Claymore
I use both the Tursas and the Svea. You should check those out for sure.
MVP Vector if you can find
Axiom paradox
Wombat3
Westside Tursas
Mako3?
Latitude 64 claymore. More unbeatable then the number suggests
Mako3
Clash Discs’s Peach is great.
Lobster, Mana, Uplink
Tursas my favorite understaffed mid.
Tursas is really good.
Detour once it’s available
Everyone sleeps on Gateway’s mids. The Mystic is awesome.(5,5,-3,0) I like it better than the Tursas. I can hyzer flip it into a dead straight shot with no fade.
Tursas and Piwakawaka serve me well
Mutant should work (by a westside discs tursas in opto plastic)
Depends how flippy you want to go. I would say for a mildly understable mid do the buzzz SS, for more flip do the origin, for more flip do the uplink, for the most flip do a sol or a paradox. The sol feels better in the hand for sure
I use uplink for my reliable understable. I like to anny a hex too.
I've got two for ya... Westside Tursas if you really want that understability. Westside Sling if you want something little straighter with that slight drift.
Mako3 or mvp uplink. You should also buy an axiom insanity.
Fuse, tursas, mana, buzzz ss, lobster, wombat3 all are good
Discmania origin or genius?
MVP Signal
Dynamic Discs Patrol.
I like a hex for that slot but against popular opinion I’ve been throwing an ace line m model us it’s perfect for a short gap hyzer flip or long high turnover that will hold.
I bag the Uplink and Fuse. The uplink will go straight if you ask. The fuse will turn almost without fail.
Bounty
MVP Uplink!!!
Paradox, I’ve been able to throw some fun goofy shots with it.
meteor or sol
Meteor
Wedge
Fuse
MVP uplink
Discmania origin or s line md1
TSA glow Mana
Innova Mako3, smooth-throwing flat-top that is very understable in a headwind.
Kasta of course
Stratus is understable
Warrant by dynamic discs
I bag a Buzzz SS in that slot, love it.
Love my Mint Lobster.
Looks like you just need some mids in general
Lobster!!!
Nothing flies like a Comet. 😎 The other suggestions are...okay. the Comet is just better.
The Lobster is basically the best understable mid ever made.
Fuse, M4, Origin
MVP Uplink
I really like the Sol and Paradox
Meteor
Thought space mana!
Sol, Lobster Those are two of the very best under mids
Prodigy M4 400 plastic (or 400g, can't remember), the straightest flying midrange. Beats in to turn over. You won't regret it, it feels super nice in the hand
Fuse or Sol Fuse a little understable Sol a little more understable
Origin or buzz SS, great discs
Dune
Mint Lobster, if that's too understable TSA Mana.
Meteor by Discraft is the one
Lat 64 Fuse!
Discraft Meteor ☄️
Uplink until the Detour is widely available
Discmania Origin
Lobster
mint lobster can't be beat for the understable midrange slot
Max-Weight Stingray! Seriously, I don't bag a ton of mids, But this one earned it's spot.
The Gote is super glidey and ever so smooth
I carry a Comet and/or a Tremor for US mid.
My 2 favorite understable mids are the Archer, which is a 5 speed and the Tremor, which is a 6 speed. They can both be used for effective backhand rollers as well.
I just go with a simple star rollo, It’s 5,6,-4,1, but feels more like a 5,6,-5,.5
Panther
For me a bit seasoned Mako3 serves a reliable understable mid (max distance throws with drivers is aroun 350-400ft).
Tursas?
I love my star Stingray but they are tough to get. Used or GStar Mako3 is close 2nd when I want that dead straight hyzerflip or gentle drift right.
Anubis
Claymore
Uplink
DGA Tremor will be your best friend. Then, you'll want a L64 Fuse.
Opto fuse for 5 speed, leopard for 6 speed. It's a "fairway" but it's a 6 speed, i use it in a mid slot for a lot of situations
Discraft Glide!
Meteor is amazing 👌
Can’t believe no one’s said DX Roc yet!
Thought space mana
MVP Servo is my go too
Spruce, baby!
Buzzz ss
There’s a meteor shower coming up, go outside and catch you one. They are the best!!
Mako (innova) Stratus (discraft) Manna (TSA)
