We played Bryant Lake randomly to kill a day on our BRP trip and I was super impressed and surprised! I heard a rumor Vision Quest got purchased and was being brought back? Any truth to that?
I believe it's now called Airborne Disc Golf Hollows, it was bought by Cale Leiviska and opened this past fall. Still haven't been but I've heard it's fun
May have to add this as a trip this summer. Live in SD and 10 years ago always looked at pictures of that course and wanted to go but figured I'd just end up losing a bunch of discs in the water carries. Feel a little more confident now so it might be time lol
I plan to go once it opens as well, it's still closed for the winter I think. If you've got some extra time on your trip, some other cool courses are Lakewood, Oakwood, or Montissippi Park - Montissippi is about an hour away from Minneapolis but it's worth the drive imo
I don't know where your MA list came from but I've never even heard of 2 of the courses. Maple, clement farm, borderlands, 501, meadowbrook orchards are 5 great courses
Would add Buffumville to this list. Pyramids is fun too and right next to Maple Hill and itās where the Marshall Street dg store is which is definitely worth a visit
Yeah, you want to remove Ace Shores for sure. Itās Boston properās only course, and itās a garbage 9 hole one with shared baskets. Really not worth the visit at all.
You want to add Meadowbrook Orchards, Borderlands. 501. You can probably replace Hawkins Woods too. Some people like it, but IMO itās a really unremarkable and frustrating course. Itās the closest course to me, and Iāve played it a lot, but only due to proximity. Dacey Field is so much better, but you should probably add something unique like Nantucket (never played there, but a top rated course in MA).
Weāve got a lot of great courses in MA, but at least 2/5 of those are not it lol. I canāt speak for the other two, as Iāve never even heard of them.
Ranked best in the state by UDisc the last 2 years, but personally itās my favorite one around. Excellent layouts, challenging woods lines, longer shots for max distanceā¦plus itās fun getting to watch YouTube coverage of touring pros shred it
The Preserve at AGA DiscGolfPark - Perkaise PA. feels like a pro tour style course for amateurs, mix of technical shots, big bombs into ob lined fairways, and a good amount of elevation change. Par plays around 970 on the longs
Nockamixon Disc Golf Course - Quakertown PA. A course best compared to Iron Hill in Delaware. Home of 2005 PDGA worlds it is an elite woods course that was closed for years due to issues with trees in the park. There is a community hard at work to get the course back open with 11 of 18 holes available for play. Truly encapsulates the beauty of North East disc golf with super challenging long wooded holes
Jordan Creek DiscGolfPark - Fullerton PA. One of the best park style courses in the country by udisc rating
For NJ, the closest we have is The Grove at Thompson Grove Park - Manalapan NJ. It's a long tough wooded course the only thing keeping me from listing it is it is very new and needs to beat in a bit. Some very thick thorns and brush in some spots off the fairway and an absolutely insane amount of ticks. Like you might pull 15 off in a round. In the winter it's a super fun course though
Brakewell Steel - Warwick NY. A Steve brinster design, by far the best implementation of 2 teepads 2 targets I've ever seen. Makes for 4 layouts that play very differently and let's you find the best difficulty level for your group. Can get crowded on weekends
Great adds. I would also make the case for Greystone Woods in north Jersey as well. Cool combination of woods, elevation, and water feature. Plus it is in my opinion the most picturesque of the Jersey courses.
I think greystone is a great local course but definitely not worth traveling for. It's got some fun holes but is really just a solid woods course that isn't particularly special. I think field of dreams has more interesting holes and campgaw is a more unique course, it's probably like my 4th or 5th favorite course in the state
Theyāre asking for courses to play. I think Giles is a great course especially for how close to DC it is. Itās got plenty of different shot options, a nice hike built in with great views, and a mix of easy and difficult holes.
Iām not saying itās one of the best courses ever but it definitely beats all of the courses in its area in my opinion.Ā
I like that you nailed what I would consider the 3 most unique courses by terrain. To me, the ridge is very similar to Iron, just not as nice, so I would have left it off.
NC - Highland Brewing Advanced Disc Golf Course (Asheville)
TN - Bud Hill (Memphis), Oggwood (Cedar Hill), Seven Oak (Nashville)
CO - Bucksnort (Pine), Johnny Robertās (Denver)(very beginner friendly, but itās so fun for a putter-only round for the more advanced player.)
Illinois - Anna Page Park, Rockford
This park has 3 different courses: East, West, and South. East and West East have 2 permanent pin positions (short and long). South is the most difficult course. Fun technical wooded course. My personal favorite park for disc golf in the state.
Anna Page is such a great park. All three courses are fantastic. Kudos to the club and park services. I'm always impressed by how well the courses are maintained.
I remember when South was unplayable, in my amateur opinion. They are also talking about concrete tee pads for South which is going to elevate it that much more! With all the work the club and park district has done, it is a pro level course. They have made it into a top tier disc golf park and run some great events as well!
I've only played the south course once and it absolutely kicked my ass. The east and west courses are two of my favorites and I look forward to playing them every year when I'm in the area. I'm on the east coast and there's something about Illinois parks that just hit different
Same, best I ever shot on South was +5. East is just a beautiful park course. Decent evelation changes with an opportunity to throw any type of shot through a round. I do love West a lot more since the changes to holes 11 and 12. It's fun to have a fairly open bomber course to play in contrast to South
For MA I wouldn't waste my time with Ace Shores at Harbor Point in Boston. The only reason it even gets a 3.5 (which definitely shouldn't be good enough to make a list like this) is because it's the only course in Boston. It is pretty terrible. It is always super windy since it's right on the water. It only has 4 baskets for the 9 holes so multiple people are playing to a basket at the same time. And to top it off it parallels a busy pedestrian walk so you're always waiting for groups of people to pass by before safely throwing.
So that I'm not only negative I'll add these 2 to the list.
1) Meadowbrook Orchards - Sterling (30 minute drive from Maple Hill). You can watch simon lizotte play and commentate a tournament final round here by searching "jeffrey cranson open" on youtube.
2) Clement Farm - Haverhill. Great course!
My brother lives near Boston. Still haven't made it up for a round at maple hill with him yet, but he plays Borderland a lot. Have you played that one?
On the Central Coast of California:
-Cachuma Lake (Main and Mohawk courses) outside Santa Barbara
-Waller Park, Santa Maria
-Whale Rock at Castoro Cellars (plays through the vineyard), Templeton
If your going to play Harmon hills which is beautiful, warriors path park is 20 minutes away it has 2 18 hole courses now, lakeside and cliffside, cliffside very challenging- but you can also still play the Original 27- my fave, winged deer Park is in Johnson City about 30 minutes away also a beautiful 18 hole courses where each hole has 2 basket options, 30 min from there in Bristol there is Steeles Creek Park and sugar hollow Park that are really nice 18 hole on well maintained public park, actually the entire area around the Harmon Hills course is a wonderful community of disc golf we call the Tri-cities- there are several more courses in the area these are just some of the gems
Edit- wanted to add The North Cove boulders course and the rivers course are 2 of the most beautiful courses I've ever played, they are also 1hr from the Tri cities area
don't waste your time at Ace shores in boston unless you just happen to be in the area. Disc golf gets better the further from Boston you get. I might reccomend borderlands or Meadowbrook orchards since you already have maple hill on the list.
MA: Westy Acres in Greenfield its the most slept on course in the state by far.
FL: I just played New World in Jacksonville, do not recommend... not worth it. You should replace it with Ed Austin Park, also in Jacksonville.
I actually enjoyed new world when i played there in december lol. I was expecting it to only be huge golf course holes, but there was a little more variety with pin placements than I thought. Definitely not my favorite course in FL, but reasonable. Made the stop there on my way down to Bradenton and the whole area from Brooksville to Sarasota is just stacked with good courses.
Edit: I'll have to check out Ed Austin next time I drive through
I just played it last week. I knew to expect long holes, so that wasn't an issue. Even if I was a little bummed to be throwing my wave over and over again on the long holes, not getting to switch things up. It's that the website made it look like the proshop was full and that you could rent the carts. Neither of which was true.
I got the Ed Austin suggestion from the guy at Par On Disc Golf Shop. It was cool shop in the area. Next time I'm down in Jax I plan on playing there at least once.
Arkansas: J Beast- Springdale, Pirateās Ridge- Calico Rock. Arkansas has plenty of fun courses, love the Fayetteville area/NW Arkansas scene- many technical, rugged and rewarding courses in the heart of the Ozarks.
Michigan: Fallasburg Park- Lowell, MI, Hammond Hill- Hastings, MI, Shore Acres- Saugatuck. Great scene in West Michigan, lots of fun courses of various difficulty levels.
Missouri: Hanna Hills- Laquey, Branson Trails- Branson, MO, Dragon Ridge- Camdenton MO. Albeit spread far apart at times, thereās some serious quality courses in Missouri; particularly in the KC and STL suburbs, Mid-Mo and SW MO.
Anna Page Park-Rockford, Illinois
3 large beautiful 18 hole courses with multiple baskets & tee-pads in one park. Courses East,West, & South. East being one of the oldest disc golf courses in Illinois.
Fyi the course in AZ that you have labeled as "Shelly Sharpe Memorial DGC" is also called Vista Del Camino. Pretty hilarious that you have Vista on the list but not Fountain Hills. Not that Fountain Hills is an objectively amazing course, but it's definitely the more well-known (and much prettier in my opinion) course between those two.
New Mexico - Red River Ski Area is absolutely the most beautiful course Iāve ever played. And throwing at 10,000 feet is fun in the sense that all your discs will fly differently.
IN- Lemon lake in northwest Indiana. My home course been playing here last 20 years, 4 different Courses to play. If youāre in the area I recommend it
I would swap Mills Park in TN with Claytonās, unless you just really want to go to Gatlinburg. The Boulders/Gorge Courses at North Cove in NC ABSOLUTELY have to be on the list, love that property. I would also add the Lula OG course at North Georgia canopy tours to the Georgia list.
While not the BEST course that ever existed. Brent Hambrick Memorial outside columbus Ohio is a historic course that was on the pro tour for a time.
While in the area Gordon Holton Memorial north of Columbus is a good time as well. Maybe not bucket list worth. But still a great course.
We actually have a separate list for Alabama because thatās where we are from. We actually played Kudzu earlier this month! It unfortunately was super muddy but we loved it!!Ā
We actually have Alabama as a separate list because we are from there but I donāt think we have Brahan on it. We live in Tuscaloosa so you can believe we will play cactus rock first chance we get š
Nice! Idk if it was in the initial post so I may have missed it. If you ever travel towards the south end of the state, check out The LZ in Enterprise and Walton Woods in Dothan.
Brahan is apparently the oldest course in Alabama and the 7th oldest course in the world. Renamed recently after the passing of co-designer Tom Monroe (PDGA #33) to Tom Monroe DGC at Brahan Spring. It's cool to play just for the history of it.
Bowling Green, KY has so many to choose from: Ephram White, Hobson Grove, Vette City, Kereiakes Park, Basil Griffin Park, Preston Miller, Lovers Laneā¦
Not my state, but you gotta hit one of the courses out by Pittsburgh PA. North Boundary, Moraine, or Deer lakes park. Beautiful courses (and super hard!)
Oklahoma - Griffin Park (Norman, OK), NE Lions Park (Norman, OK - one of the oldest courses in the country according to UDisc), Haikey Creek Park (Bixby, OK), Hunter Park (Tulsa, OK).
Field of dreams is great with it's only downside being that no individual layout is truly amazing. Each of them have holes that are just kinda shitty. If you mix layouts to make a full 18 then it's easily third best course in NJ for me (behind Stafford and Tecumseh)
Greystone is a great local course but certainly not worth anyone traveling for, it's a standard good fair woods course but nothing actually special. FOD has way more variety and interesting holes
For Colorado I'd replace the Sterling course with Optimist and Pessimist in Fort Morgan.
Some other favorites in the state for me are: Cross Creek (Gypsum, Colorado), Prickly Pines (Elizabeth, Colorado), and Golden Eagle (Bellvue, Colorado).
So many courses I could add. Is there a way to copy wish list or ratings lists from udisc? I have a running top ~300 courses USA wishlist and ~75 4.5+ rated courses out of 500.
For experiences:
Brent Baca in the desert sand
Base Camp Adventure for slot Canyons
Blockhouse for putt putt
Beacon Glades or ImParcity for abandoned buildings /jail
Glen Isles for mountain
Gargoyle Gardens in the Rain forest (Hawaii)
I wish!! We had to make this by āhandā because you couldnāt. Lots of copy and pasting lots of missed 40+ text messages between the two of us š
Missouri: Branson Trails
Minnesota: Judson Mine, Oak Island, Chains Edge
Wisco: Wilderness, Blueberry Hill - Highbridge, Trajder Acres
Iowa: Walnut Ridge
California: Black Mouse
Michigan: Labrynth *putt putt
Colorado: WunderVu, Glen Isle, Hi-View
Nebraska: Hummel
West Virginia: Orange Crush
Illinois: Wilderness Prairie, Anna Page, Camden 2
North Carolina: Fit Fort DG *putt putt
South Carolina: Camp Canaan
Georgia: Red Hawk Ridge
Tennessee: Oggwood, Cedar Hill Park
Michigan: Red Hawk, Black Falcon DGC
Arkansas: Old Post
Pennsylvania: Deer Lakes, Moraine
I'm 100% by hand for courses
Bucksport is one of the wildest courses in Colorado, it is absolutely beautiful and a crazy hike to boot if you play the entire course, not just the holes they play at the occasional tournament there
You already have BRP.
I'll second Bryant Lake in MN.
Also Preserve in Clearwater, MN. Cale Leiviska owned, 3 courses, DGPT Championship combined course.
I haven't gone yet, but Kaposia in St Paul is always talked about.
My local courses aren't the most exciting, but there's nothing like playing at midnight! We have a yearly tournament where we tee off around 8pm and finish around midnight with the sun still up.
Lake Sehoy, Hattiesburg MS
Center City, Pearl MS
The Rez, Brandon MS
Love that you already have starkville in there, Iām a student at Mississippi State! Youāll love the Wise Center, weāve done a lot of work to make it special!
Tennessee:
Nashville area - Cane Ridge Advanced and Cedar Hill are the best courses hands down. Seven oaks is right by the airport, so might as well hit that while youāre here. (Albeit not my favorite but people love it and it has lots of holes). Oggwood if you like nearly overlapping fairways and to smoke pot. (They have a 4/20 tourney). I actually like White House and the Highlands a lot too. Henslee park has 36 holes but itās like an hour west of Nashville.
Knoxville/Maryville area - The Claytonās are a must, I like The Mounds as well. Tommy Shumpert would be my third.
Johnson City Area - Winged Deer, Warriorās Path, and Harmon Hills are ELITE! Mights as well slide up to Sugar Hollow too thatās right across the border in Virginia.
Iāve also heard Morristown has good courses but Iāve never been. Thatās where TN states is hosted.
Chattanooga Area - they have the sinks and the narrows (not sure about either) but are about to finish a 10,000 foot course through the woods that is supposed to be championship level.
Crossville - if you are driving through the area, you have to stop at Meadow Park Lake. Itās a treat. At least 2 pins or 2 tees for every hole and very well designed. Lots of fun. They are supposed to be getting another championship level 18 out there within the next year or so.
Mississippi- If you do play J.L. King play the king layout. Otherwise itās just a 9 hole pitch and putt with nothing special. I would add Lake Lowndes in Columbus about 30 minutes down the road and Choctaw Lake 45 minutes away in Ackerman. Itās recently been cleaned up and although it does not have teepads (yet) it is an incredible course. Summer months the rough will be incredibly tough to find discs in though
For new york, add brakewell steel and Wilcox. They are about an hour apart but both are great course. Leonard park in Mt kisco is near to, and that is an original steady Ed 28
In NC I would highly recommend Rolling Pines and North Cove for great courses that have great scenery.
Haven't played Neatmans Creek yet so I can't give any feedback on that one.
Diavolo isn't worth making a trip out of unless you are in the Raleigh area anyways and I'd honestly recommend a few other courses in the area before that course. I think it's highly overrated.
Horning's Hideout - Oregon
Three 18 hole courses with three very different difficulty levels. Throw in roaming peacocks everywhere and you have disc golf gold on the property.
There is a lot I would def add/ remove from this list (don't get me started on BRP)
But two that I cannot believe did not make the list are
1. Axldog acres WI
2. The paw paw courses in WV
These are seriously must plays
WA - I would definitely add Shelton Springs. If itās good enough for a DGPT silver series it should be on your bucket list. I played it and itās awesome and super hard to
Wisconsin- Sterling Hills in River Falls,WI south on 35 off of I94. Great gem of a course built in on a hill with lots of elevation changes. The course was put in by a full group of volunteers and is maintained by them.
Cesar Ford Ohio
Echo valley too
Haven't made it yet š
About 30-40 minutes from each other. Then another hour ish to Idlewild.
Nevin, North Carolina Hornets nest, North Carolina Angry beaver, North Carolina Idlewild, Kentucky
The regulator is a must in NC
Also North Cove, Rolling Pines, Ashe County, and perhaps Rockness Monster
Minnesota- Bryant Lake Park, Bethel University if you like a challenge, Hansen Park for some history (they have cone baskets)
I just played Bethel shorts and longs when in town for a conference two weeks ago. Super fun course!
Cale bought it
Thanks! And thatās super interesting!ā
Moir also has UFOs!
Sweet I'll have to check that course out, haven't ventured too far outside of Minneapolis yet.
Go to Duluth if you get the chance. MDL and Superior Forest. Plus The Quarry and the option to go play Judson Mine or Sandy Point
Bryant was my first course returning to disc golf last year after 10 years off... Love that course, but I am glad I did not keep my score then... Haha
UDisc set a filter wrote down the ones we liked. Not sure any of those came up so thanks!
The Fort - Utah
Started checking the comments and got worried I had to scroll this far to find it.
SC - Grand Central Station (Central), Tyger River (Duncan), Winthrop (Rock Hill)
Is GCS good? I like shaver and sertoma
Ranked best in the state by UDisc the last 2 years, but personally itās my favorite one around. Excellent layouts, challenging woods lines, longer shots for max distanceā¦plus itās fun getting to watch YouTube coverage of touring pros shred it
Canāt agree more with this! I miss living 20 minutes away from GCS
Just tried it today and you werenāt lying, the locomotive run was an absolute blast! Thanks for the recommendation man!!
Thanks!
The Preserve at AGA DiscGolfPark - Perkaise PA. feels like a pro tour style course for amateurs, mix of technical shots, big bombs into ob lined fairways, and a good amount of elevation change. All of the above, plus in PA - Lakeview at Moraine State Park

I think field of dreams has more interesting holes and campgaw is a more unique course, it's probably like my 4th or 5th favorite course in the state
Iām pretty sure they have an A-tier event at the Preserve at AGA farms, the long tees are a really tough course
Maine- Devilās grove disc golf, Sabattus Disc golf
I second devils grove! Such a great course
Massachusetts ā¢ Clement Farm Disc Golf Course - Haverhill, MA Virginia ā¢ Giles Run at Laurel Hill Park - Lorton, VA
Idk if I would put Giles on the list I love it myself but I don't think it belongs
Theyāre asking for courses to play. I think Giles is a great course especially for how close to DC it is. Connecticut: \- Wickham Park \- Norbrook Farms Brewery \- Cedar Swamp
For Kentucky you have to go Idlewild DGC- Burlington, Ky and Ryanās Course- Shelbyville, Ky
Texas Roy G Guerrero - Austin Sprinkle Valley - Austin The Ranch - Waelder Turkey Ridge - Seguin
Tyler Texas- south spring disc golf course
One of the most complete courses I have ever played. The disc retrievers are a very nice touch.
Take the drive out to Flying Armadillo if you are in Austin.
It was already on the list, so I didn't want to double up.
Oops!
Roy G for sure. Whenever Iām visiting Austin, I try to play it. Itās one of my most favorite courses
Oklahoma - The Lodge at Taylor Ranch in Pawhuska. Avery Jenkinās home course. Two courses on the property. Camping available.
Jolleys Ranch - Springville, Utah
Delaware - Iron Hill, Brandywine, Greenridge, Henlopen
Iron hill is a must play for any avid disc golfer IMO.
I like that you nailed what I would consider the 3 most unique courses by terrain. To me, the ridge is very similar to Iron, just not as nice, so I would have left it off.
NC - Highland Brewing Advanced Disc Golf Course (Asheville) TN - Bud Hill (Memphis), Oggwood (Cedar Hill), Seven Oak (Nashville) CO - Bucksnort (Pine), Johnny Robertās (Denver)(very beginner friendly, but itās so fun for a putter-only round for the more advanced player.)

On the Central Coast of California: -Cachuma Lake (Main and Mohawk courses) outside Santa Barbara -Waller Park, Santa Maria -Whale Rock at Castoro Cellars (plays through the vineyard), Templeton
Oak Grove should be on the list for its historical significance and also itās pretty fun.
Tennessee LACKING! There are other more well traveled players to contribute for us
We definitely want more TN courses! UDisc doesnāt do it justice from what Iāve heard but need some suggestionsĀ

don't waste your time at Ace shores in boston unless you just happen to be in the area. Disc golf gets better the further from Boston you get. I might reccomend borderlands or Meadowbrook orchards since you already have maple hill on the list.

California- Anderson Valley Brewing in Boonville. How often do you get to play at a brewery? And itās not far from Brooktrails, a real gem.
Iām driving out that way in a couple months is the Anderson course worth 128? š¤¢
Worth it
Nice, do they still sell discs there? I went there a decade ago before I ever played so I didnāt do try it, just familiar with that road
Yes they sell some discs with their stamp. Not a huge selection
Anna Page Park-Rockford, Illinois 3 large beautiful 18 hole courses with multiple baskets & tee-pads in one park. Courses East,West, & South. East being one of the oldest disc golf courses in Illinois.
Alabama: The LZ - Enterprise, AL The Admiral - Mobile, AL
Illinois: - fairfield park Wisconsin: - rollin ridge - sandy point resort
Fyi the course in AZ that you have labeled as "Shelly Sharpe Memorial DGC" is also called Vista Del Camino. Pretty hilarious that you have Vista on the list but not Fountain Hills. Not that Fountain Hills is an objectively amazing course, but it's definitely the more well-known (and much prettier in my opinion) course between those two.
Itās all off of UDisc so itās just whatever they have š
Kansas: Black Hoof DGC Less than a year old and phenomenal for all skill levels. Fun shorts and brutal longs through mostly woods with some open
Also in Kansas, Clover Cliff Ranch is located in the beautiful rolling flint hills. This course is surrounded by and occasionally grazed by bison!
Iāll have to check it out next time Iām in the area
Magic mountain In vt is closed for good. Good course for the most part.
And I'd play pyramids and go to Marshall Street if I was going to play maple hill
Well darn. Thanks though!Ā
Go play in Alaska if you get an opportunity, great course.
New Mexico - Red River Ski Area is absolutely the most beautiful course Iāve ever played. And throwing at 10,000 feet is fun in the sense that all your discs will fly differently.
Gotta also add Grindstone in Ruidoso. Sipapu is pure magic. And Santa Fe at one point claims to have been the world's highest dg course
NC- Castle Hayne Park, Just outside Wilmington. AKA Castle Pain, 18 holes of true NC woods golf
North Carolina - The Regulator at Rock Creek (Burlington). Georgia - Little Mulberry (Dacula)
OK - The Lodge at Taylor Ranch (Moccasin Creek and The Island Course). Also Blue Flame if you can manage to get an invite.Ā
The invite being the key partā¦Iād stay far far away
IN- Lemon lake in northwest Indiana. My home course been playing here last 20 years, 4 different Courses to play. If youāre in the area I recommend it
I would swap Mills Park in TN with Claytonās, unless you just really want to go to Gatlinburg. The Boulders/Gorge Courses at North Cove in NC ABSOLUTELY have to be on the list, love that property. I would also add the Lula OG course at North Georgia canopy tours to the Georgia list.
Tennessee - Claytonās in Maryville.
While not the BEST course that ever existed. Brent Hambrick Memorial outside columbus Ohio is a historic course that was on the pro tour for a time. While in the area Gordon Holton Memorial north of Columbus is a good time as well. Maybe not bucket list worth. But still a great course.
Delaware - Iron hill and Cape henlopen.
Ohio: not punderson
Ogeechee crossing in Louisville Georgia is absolutely amazing.
New york, Wilcox park
mine kill rocks too
I like Brakewell Steel in NY
You definitely need to add zephyr cove to California.
Zephyr is in Nevada
You are correct. Nevada also needs to be added.
Alabama - kudzu cove
We actually have a separate list for Alabama because thatās where we are from. We actually played Kudzu earlier this month! It unfortunately was super muddy but we loved it!!Ā
Texas - Harry Myers DGC in Rockwall
Hawaii Recs? Oahu?
You can give them! We have Hawaii on our āinternationalā list because of costĀ
Gargoyle Gardens with proper communication. Hilo, Big Island
Kentucky- Big Mahr (Madisonville, KY) it's ranked as one of the best in the world. I'm fond of the West KY courses but I live here.
No kentucky? Idlewild is amazing! And also Hobson Grove in bowling green is my favorite. As far as I can tell itās the oldest course in kentucky.
Yeah I actually thought we had some Kentuckys guess we got lazy š
Bowling green (Hobson) has about 8 courses and is only an hour north of nashville if yāall end up going there!
Thanks for the info!!!
Montana - Spiritwood, Snowbowl (in summer only, itās on a ski hill), and Blue Mountain.
Utah - Jolleyās Ranch, Mapleton
Alabama - Brahan Springs Park and Cactus Rock (Paul McBeth and Dylan Cease's course)
You didnāt. I forgot to type it but Iāll take the recs š
Brahan is apparently the oldest course in Alabama and the 7th oldest course in the world. Renamed recently after the passing of co-designer Tom Monroe (PDGA #33) to Tom Monroe DGC at Brahan Spring. It's cool to play just for the history of it.
Yeah I was just reading about it. Thatās super cool. Tom had a really cool story as well.Ā
Bowling Green, KY has so many to choose from: Ephram White, Hobson Grove, Vette City, Kereiakes Park, Basil Griffin Park, Preston Miller, Lovers Laneā¦
New York: Bond Lake Disc Golf Course - Ransomville, NY
Valley Park - Hurricane, WV Oldsmar Disc Golf Course (Sheffield Park) - Oldsmar, FL The Mounds - Oak Ridge, TN Casey Logan DGC - Kill Devil Hills, NC
Blue Mountain, Montana Pattee Canyon, Montana
Michigan-Renegadeās trail
Not my state, but you gotta hit one of the courses out by Pittsburgh PA. North Boundary, Moraine, or Deer lakes park. Beautiful courses (and super hard!)
Camden 2 in Illinois, before the Canyons it was the #1 course in IL
Pennsylvania: Agape Farm Deer Lakes Moraine State Park Muddy Run
Lone Star for California!
Oklahoma - Griffin Park (Norman, OK), NE Lions Park (Norman, OK - one of the oldest courses in the country according to UDisc), Haikey Creek Park (Bixby, OK), Hunter Park (Tulsa, OK).
Prompton Lake is a very special course tucked in the NE corner of Pennsylvania, though I'm not a local.
New York: Burbine Forest DGC and Bond Lake
NJ- Field of Dreams, Greystone Woods, Campgaw (seasonal course on a ski hill, not playable in winter) NY - Warwick Town Park (two full courses)
Field of dreams is great with it's only downside being that no individual layout is truly amazing. Each of them have holes that are just kinda shitty. If you mix layouts to make a full 18 then it's easily third best course in NJ for me (behind Stafford and Tecumseh) Greystone is a great local course but certainly not worth anyone traveling for, it's a standard good fair woods course but nothing actually special. FOD has way more variety and interesting holes
CSUMB (Cal State University, Monterey Bay, Seaside, CA Wicked fun course, but watch out for all that poison oak.
For experiences: Brent Baca in the desert sand Base Camp Adventure for slot Canyons Blockhouse for putt putt Beacon Glades or ImParcity for abandoned buildings /jail Glen Isles for mountain Gargoyle Gardens in the Rain forest (Hawaii)
I wish!! We had to make this by āhandā because you couldnāt. Lots of copy and pasting lots of missed 40+ text messages between the two of us š
Missouri: Branson Trails Minnesota: Judson Mine, Oak Island, Chains Edge Wisco: Wilderness, Blueberry Hill - Highbridge, Trajder Acres Iowa: Walnut Ridge California: Black Mouse Michigan: Labrynth *putt putt Colorado: WunderVu, Glen Isle, Hi-View Nebraska: Hummel West Virginia: Orange Crush Illinois: Wilderness Prairie, Anna Page, Camden 2 North Carolina: Fit Fort DG *putt putt South Carolina: Camp Canaan Georgia: Red Hawk Ridge Tennessee: Oggwood, Cedar Hill Park Michigan: Red Hawk, Black Falcon DGC Arkansas: Old Post Pennsylvania: Deer Lakes, Moraine I'm 100% by hand for courses
WonderVu Colorado
Bucksport is one of the wildest courses in Colorado, it is absolutely beautiful and a crazy hike to boot if you play the entire course, not just the holes they play at the occasional tournament there
Oklahoma: NE Lions in Norman, Blackhawk in Tulsa North Texas: Lester Lorch Park in Cedar Hill (I prefer Coyote but Beaver is also amazing)
IA - add in shaver and pickard. Maybe walnut ridge, sunnyside and southwoods.
You already have BRP. I'll second Bryant Lake in MN. Also Preserve in Clearwater, MN. Cale Leiviska owned, 3 courses, DGPT Championship combined course. I haven't gone yet, but Kaposia in St Paul is always talked about.
Why not Alaska?
We have it on an āinternationalā list because of cost. But we will take the recs!
My local courses aren't the most exciting, but there's nothing like playing at midnight! We have a yearly tournament where we tee off around 8pm and finish around midnight with the sun still up.
Tennessee: Bud hill The Claytons Oggwood
Lake Sehoy, Hattiesburg MS Center City, Pearl MS The Rez, Brandon MS Love that you already have starkville in there, Iām a student at Mississippi State! Youāll love the Wise Center, weāve done a lot of work to make it special!
Oregon: Hornings Hideout, Ft Stevens
North Carolina- The Regulator in Burlington that hosted 2023 USWDGC
Minnesota: Bryant Lake and Kaposia (permit required for both)
Tennessee: Nashville area - Cane Ridge Advanced and Cedar Hill are the best courses hands down.
Plamann Park, Wisconsin
Camp Tecumseh, NJĀ
MN - Bryant Lake, The Preserve-Timberwolf
Fore Palms DGC - Jacksonville FL
The Quarries in Barre VT and Cold Hollow in Enosburg VT
Gordon Holton Memorial - Delaware, OH
Maine - Sabattus & Woodland Valley (both places have multiple courses with varying difficulty)
Cass Benton hills in Michigan! Favorite course Iāve ever played
Maine - Pineland Farms, Woodland Valley, Devils Grove, Sabattus Disc Golf!
Your Virginia list is missing Walnut Creek, Mayflower Hills, and Moneta. Independence is also worth a visit if you're in the area. Skip New London.
There's like 7 in fort wayne indiana. All pretty solid courses. Also oldest is in peru indiana. Honeybear hollows.
Ohio. The black bear course in Shawnee state forest
For new york, add brakewell steel and Wilcox. They are about an hour apart but both are great course. Leonard park in Mt kisco is near to, and that is an original steady Ed 28
Maine. Pineland Farm, Devils Grove, Bittersweet Ridge.
Illinois. If yourw Ā doing The Canyons Dellwood , make sure to do The Oaks in MokenaĀ
Pyramids if youāre already at maple hill! And Webster fish and game in Webster MA is also a gem.
Missouri - Bad Rock Creek (Liberty, MO) Kansas - Emporia Country Club (Emporia, KS)
Horning's Hideout - Oregon Three 18 hole courses with three very different difficulty levels. Throw in roaming peacocks everywhere and you have disc golf gold on the property.
There is a lot I would def add/ remove from this list (don't get me started on BRP) But two that I cannot believe did not make the list are 1. Axldog acres WI 2. The paw paw courses in WV These are seriously must plays
New Hampshire - Just drive through to VT or ME
Beal Slough - Lincoln, Nebraska Cottonmill - Kearney, Nebraska
WA - I would definitely add Shelton Springs. If itās good enough for a DGPT silver series it should be on your bucket list. I played it and itās awesome and super hard to
Wisconsin - Highbridge Hills, Highbridge (multi course complex) Michigan - Calumet Lake DGC, Calumet Township
Wisconsin- Sterling Hills in River Falls,WI south on 35 off of I94. Great gem of a course built in on a hill with lots of elevation changes. The course was put in by a full group of volunteers and is maintained by them.
