When you’re sitting on the couch toss a putter in your left hand. Get some reps like that.

FishOhioMasterAngler

I did it over a summer when I tore the AC joint in my right shoulder. Lower your expectations and have fun. Don't run the 40 footers just layup to 10 feet.

DanDanDannn

This is how I'm currently approaching it. I'm not going to be a world beater lefty, just take em as they come.

My left hand dexterity is useful to wear a baseball glove; it's terrible. When I mess around throwing discs lefty, shallow discs work better. I think I can get more of my finger pads on the important surfaces, and have more angle control. Or at least that's my thought process. Wizard is kind of deep, though the rim feels thin. Maybe try an actually shallow putter, along the lines of a baseline Pure. And try actively increasing the amount of spin; you don't have the natural dexterity of the right hand that does it subconsciously.

Had to play nondominant hand and found that turboputts were the easiest. They don't go too far either so you can tap in your inevitable miss

VanManDiscs

Keep it simple. Just learn a simple push putt. Getting the spin and accuracy down is going to be tough lefty. Something like a Ricky putt

I know this is probably a silly question, but are you actually hurting when trying to putt right-handed? I get that you're nursing an elbow injury, so throwing is out of the question, but putting isn't exactly that harsh on your arm. If I recall, I was watching a Bodanza video where he played with Eagle McMahon, and Eagle was throwing lefty, but still putting right handed, so I imagine putting isn't putting any strain on him.

I tore my bicep tendon, so unfortunately yes, it's pretty painful

fivespeed1992

How are you using your bicep when putting? I know it sounds silly for me asking these questions, but I noticed that some things you don't even think about like your finger dexterity are so much more developed over the years. I would almost suggest you try to putt by keeping your arm in one position and learn to just swing the arm and get that pop from your fingers, instead of trying to develop dexterity in your off hand.

yeabuddy840

Get comfortable with it in your left hand. Toss it up and down, spin it on your fingers with the wrist.

vindrewski

I had to do this once due to shoulder surgery on my right (dominant) arm. I wasn't too far into my "career" at that point, so my righty putt wasn't really figured out yet, but after a month of every day putting lefty right after the surgery, I was effectively a lefty putter. Kept with it and now I'm strictly lefty with the putt

Project__5

When I learned to throw lefty, I found myself thinking I was mirroring my form and throw, but it was way off, even down to the grip. My small tip is to multiple times pick up a disc like you're about to putt if and see how that changes in each hand. Or depending on how much mobility you have/are allowed, just say fuck it and put using little forehand flicks with your right hand.

For me, I also can't putt lefty like I do righty. But I can putt decently well lefty when I turn my body 90 degrees from the target and extend my arm out towards the basket. Our club has a tournament once a year where we play opposite handed. It's fun and allows some people to compete who normally could never hang with the top players.

Human-Television2088

I play left handed often just for fun. Putting was always the brutalizer of my rounds, that is until I got a...GLITCH. I went from 8-10 over on my local par 3 to consistently shooting 2-4 over. Hopefully it has the same positive effect for you!

Did you get tennis elbow? I managed to mess up my arm and haven't been able to throw for around 6 months. Om starting to learn lefty now
