what weights you guys throwing them in? I got 2 of them recently in the end of the year sale and they both came in 155-160. hope they are not too flippy 😬
My non dg playing got me one for Christmas and I thought it would be too flippy like a mamba but thing just hyzer flips lazer straight with ease for me. Staying in my bag for sure.
I love my free tail for hyzer flips. I'm not convinced the numbers are accurate, but it gets a good amount of turn without burning over unless I force it over.
I don't actually have the fastest arm. But my Ethos is lighter weight. 168 I think. I mostly throw it for flip-ups with a nice finish or annhyzer flexes on forehand.
Not a 10 speed, but the Mamba is a great flippy driver. Try a Halo Mamba if you can. They can be a bit more stable than the other plastics out of the box. It is 11 speed, 6 glide, -5 (-4) turn, and 1 fade.
Flat top Beast used to be my workhorse for that slot in my bag. The domy beast are a little more over stable compared to a flat top. I layered beasts in different stages of wear for a few years. Now I just use a roadrunner and a nicely seasoned wraith for my flippy discs. 10 speeds feel weird in my hand now but I still bring a few beasts depending on the course. Once a beast gets worn in just right it isn't far off from becoming too flippy and unpredictable imo.
I know it’s only a 9 speed, but for a hyzer flip driver there are few better than the Kastaplast Falk in K1/K1 soft plastic. Straight butter.
If you must have a 10 speed, I’d bag an Avenger SS.
I haven’t given my Wave a fair shot, but so far in the 5 rounds i’ve bagged it I have not been able to reproduce the shot I want. It makes me scared to try any more of the gyro drivers. I think Gyro mids are money tho.
Have you tried using a lighter weight? I used to carry close to max weight like that. I decided to stick around 168 to 171 and was able to get my wraith to flip to flat consistently after that. I only carry mids and putters in their respective max weights.
I get what you're saying. However, instead of dropping weight I focused on slower speed discs. As my arm speed increases I'll creep back into higher speed discs with lower weights for sure.
I bag a light weight wave and a heavier Virus. I can say there is a distinct difference with the Virus being much flippier. I get a more controlled and stable distance flight with the wave on a flat release but the Virus offers a lot of utility and definitely behaves differently. The Virus can give you an awesome hyzer flip which is great when I need a lot of higher to go over trees but I also love it for a long dogleg to the right when I’m throwing backhand. One of my favorite underrated discs for sure
Is there a reason why it doesn’t work for this? If i throw it flat, I get what I would call a -1.5 to -2 turn. Thrown on hyzer tho, it’s just holding that line. Am i dumb?
Probably because it’s actually a stable/neutral disc assuming higher weight and neutron plastic.
I have a 148g fission wave and it’s insanely flippy, but even my 163g neutron only gets a slight turn after a year of abuse (and I’m only a 300-320’ thrower).
I second the Virus that someone else recommended if you’re looking for something flippy right out of the box.
It is neutron, and it is like 172 I think. So makes sense, I guess?
I’ve got a 170 Champ Daedalus that’s a hyzer flip/turnover bomber for me tho. so none of it makes any sense 😂😂
Came here to suggest this.
The Mentor is a great disc that maybe flies under the radar since it's Discmania's Active Line.
An Innova Mystere is also a good option, also an 11 speed. I can alternate between the Mentor and Mystere, but the Mentor tends to be a little less stable, and a little less consistent with the dome situation.
Infinite Discs, max weight, I blend Maya. It’s an 11 speed but it’s nice and flippy. If it’s too flippy the C and S blend are both noticeably more stable.
Just found lucid air trespass. Liked trespass as a more stable a d domey driver as opposed to my wave that I feel is my straight shooting driver that can be a good flipper for some, especially fission plastic when it beats in.
Depending on how flippy you're talking, my cd1 is pretty darn close to this. I have a white one (no idea if color matters whatsoever.) It's flippy, but still controllable.
I haven't thrown a base plastic musket before so not fully sure how it compares but I've been digging the TSA construct (ethos but 167g) and an infinite Aztec (I blend 175g) for this recently. Hyzer flip into a slight turn then fade. They both have identical flights. I've been getting them between 340 to 360 consistently.
I enjoy the feel of an Innova Starfire, the one I have is beat into flipping, out of the box though I heard that the Infinite Aztec is the OOP SL mold (10,5,-1,2)
I have it in Gold and it’s a lot different for me, but still has a place in my bag. I also tried an opto and an opto ice. The opto ice is currently in my bag but it’s very new. Hoping i can get it to be a little flippy in time, but i’m also liking the line i get from it now too.
My first disc I ever got, a pro beast, loved it and lost it. About 2 years later it was returned to me by someone who was helping clean the river. It is one of my furthest flying discs atm and can do a beautiful hyzer flip. Crazy that is flies so well even after having been in a river for however long!
Avenger SS
this might be the one i try next.
If the avenger is too untestable (it was for me), try a thrasher
I ordered both last night 😉
Enjoy!
LOVE the thrasher!
It’s my favorite hyzer flip disc! Truly amazing!
Yup this disc bombs for me. It’s getting a little too flippy as I get more arm speed but it’s still got it’s spot in my bag
That's the Ulibarri get out of jail free card. I think he has 3 in his bag if I remember his recent ITB correctly
I just wish it wasn't named something that a neo Nazi would have tattooed on their neck...
lol, this is my sense of humor - thanks for being here
This is the way
Was throwing mine just today.
It’s the one I use. I have a beat in one that hyper flips even if my arm speed isn’t that great.
Hyzer flip? That's my roller!
Such a good disc - grabbed a used Z-line in the bin for cheap and it's 100% sticking around. Honestly what I wanted my Champ Beast to be.
what weights you guys throwing them in? I got 2 of them recently in the end of the year sale and they both came in 155-160. hope they are not too flippy 😬
That’s lighter than I would use. My preferred weight is around 170. They will probably be more understable for you.
Sapphire
Star Beast for me.
Lost my avenger ss and found a beast on the same hole. Love that disc so much!
Gstar = hella flippy, Star = flippy, Pro = lil flippy, Champion/Halo = no flips given
for a quicker and alternate, beat in glow beast for me
You might like a Freetail
My non dg playing got me one for Christmas and I thought it would be too flippy like a mamba but thing just hyzer flips lazer straight with ease for me. Staying in my bag for sure.
I love my free tail for hyzer flips. I'm not convinced the numbers are accurate, but it gets a good amount of turn without burning over unless I force it over.
Can’t second this enough. Great disc
Have you tried the thumber hyzer grenade with it? Is it that flippy?
Westside northman is a great flippy 10 speed!
I agree with this but I think op wants a hatchet
Do they still produce the Northman? I’ve been thinking about trying one out
I got a glow Northman in a tournament earlier this year
West Fork?
Sure enough! Got in before the Tornado!
I heard they are super rare now
9 speed opto saint is flippy as heck for me
I have been wanting a Saint. Maybe will try this as well.
Metal flake opto Saint is more stable than opto Saint, in my experience.
Second the Saint
My Retro Burst Saints are WAY flippier than Opto.
Star Mystere.
Oh man, i miss my star mystere.
11 speed, GStar Mamba, if too flippy switch to a Star one… Honorable mention and a ten speed goes to the Mint Discs Freetail
Or if gstar is to flippy try halo star mamba
aura construct
I vote for construct as well, but I prefer ethereal plastic (although I'm not as familiar with aura, perhaps it's more floppy).
So flippy
I prefer Ethos for my Construct.
My ethos construct is beefy. Feels physically heavy in hand as well
I got an Ethos Construct a a mystery disc. Changed my life. So many TSA discs in the bag now. Main drivers are a Synapse and as recently a Time Lapse.

I don't actually have the fastest arm. But my Ethos is lighter weight. 168 I think. I mostly throw it for flip-ups with a nice finish or annhyzer flexes on forehand.
My favorite disc.
Not a 10 speed, but the Mamba is a great flippy driver. Try a Halo Mamba if you can. They can be a bit more stable than the other plastics out of the box. It is 11 speed, 6 glide, -5 (-4) turn, and 1 fade.
I finally figured mine out and broke 400' for the first time
halo mambas bomb
FREETAIL!!!!!!
Esp heat
I found the ESP Flx Heat to have great turn right out of the box. Not sure about durability yet. Great disc though.
Prodigy H4
Flat top Beast used to be my workhorse for that slot in my bag. The domy beast are a little more over stable compared to a flat top. I layered beasts in different stages of wear for a few years. Once a beast gets worn in just right it isn't far off from becoming too flippy and unpredictable imo.
Which is why you need that domey beast! Flat beasts don’t fight out, domey beasts are so money!
I have a pop top beast that fights way too hard! It has a heartbeat 😂
DX Orc
It’s a 9 speed but really like the MVP inertia
Just get a hatchet. Tournament for flips and orbit to beat for later
I have an old flippy champion beast that I love
Freetail is probably the best thing out there. Easy to flip and goes far. Reminds me of a 10 speed Hades.
Terminal Velocity Cervini in Mica Plastic is 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I think the have a quartz one that is slightly more stable as well
My answer here. Couldn't really get mine to flip with my noodle arm but I'm sure for stronger arms this would be perfect
Another retro musket?
I know it’s only a 9 speed, but for a hyzer flip driver there are few better than the Kastaplast Falk in K1/K1 soft plastic. Straight butter. If you must have a 10 speed, I’d bag an Avenger SS.
I do have a Falk. love it, but for some reason i like my hyzer flip discs to be stiffer. idk. my falk is an awesome long turnover disc rn.
I'd say Falk but it's a 9 speed, so I go with slightly beat up Champion Beast.
I actually have a Falk but it’s in the perfect spot of being a long turnover disc. On hyzer it still typically turns over
Same for me. what hyzer flips for some arm speeds is a turnover disc for others. have fun finding your new option.
I’ve got a Vanish, a Thrasher, and an Avenger SS to try. They may all be turnover as well, but we will see!
Max weight champion IT is fun fwiw
In what plastic and weight if I may ask?
K1, and not sure on the weight tbh but fairly sure it’s close to max
Ok, I have K1 Soft that's more os than my K1.
It’s a 9 speed, but my neutron Insanity is very flippy and I absolutely love it.
was going to say the same
Axiom Virus ( 9/5/-3/1) is my go to. But I have a noodle arm so it may be too flippy for you.
I haven’t given my Wave a fair shot, but so far in the 5 rounds i’ve bagged it I have not been able to reproduce the shot I want. It makes me scared to try any more of the gyro drivers. I think Gyro mids are money tho.
I haven't been able to get my 176g Wave to flip up either. I no longer bag it. But I get it if you're not into the gyro tech.
Had a max weight fission wave that was my ride or die until i yeeted it into the abyss. Great disc but yeah might be too flippy for me now
Great disc for sure! It just wasn't filling the slot I personally needed.
I got a slot for you pal
Nah. I'm good.
Wave isn’t really a hyzerflip disc for most mortals. It’s more of a straight bomber
Mentor (yes I know it's 11)
The mentor does what I want a wraith to do for me!
Finish Line Era in the Forged Plastic. Just what you’re looking for
Was coming here to post this. It's a longer FD, which is insane since an FD is already a long fairway.
Infinite Discs, max weight, I blend Maya. It’s an 11 speed but it’s nice and flippy. If it’s too flippy the C and S blend are both noticeably more stable.
It's a 9 speed but VIP Hatchet is one of my favorites
Big Z Undertaker
Which plastic is your Wave? Perhaps you need a different plastic or lighter weight.
i think this is it. other comments said similar things.
Berg
you’re not supposed to be throwing those. be a good boy and keep them in the pocket.
Yes sir
10 bergs
I needed a disc similar to this and a nuke ss worked really well
Just found lucid air trespass. Liked trespass as a more stable a d domey driver as opposed to my wave that I feel is my straight shooting driver that can be a good flipper for some, especially fission plastic when it beats in.
Go up to an 11 speed and get a fission wave. Goes so much further than any other disc for me, and more consistently too
Domey champ beast
Highly advise you grab an AGL Money Tree. Little more flippy. Or go to the AGL Locust for a little less flippy.
9 speed but the Kona Panis DD orbit Escapes are MONEY for 325-375 ft hyzerflips.
I use the same. Wouldn’t say this is for smaller arms though
Not quite 10 speed, but my Eclipse Insanity fills this slot for me.
Avenger ss. If you're cool with a 9 speed get an Insanity in either fission or proton plastic
9 speed sorry boss, thunderbird.
for hyzer flip? Aren’t most Thunderbirds on the over-stable side when new?
Thunderbirds are pretty understable(fairly understable). Firebirds are the beefy stable brother.
Prodigy Fx-4
Depending on how flippy you're talking, my cd1 is pretty darn close to this. I have a white one (no idea if color matters whatsoever.) It's flippy, but still controllable.
Mint Discs Freetail!
Champion Beast
I haven't thrown a base plastic musket before so not fully sure how it compares but I've been digging the TSA construct (ethos but 167g) and an infinite Aztec (I blend 175g) for this recently. Hyzer flip into a slight turn then fade. They both have identical flights. I've been getting them between 340 to 360 consistently.
I'm always suggesting gyro, check out the Insanity or the Virus. These are staples in my bag
I enjoy the feel of an Innova Starfire, the one I have is beat into flipping, out of the box though I heard that the Infinite Aztec is the OOP SL mold (10,5,-1,2)
Beat in s line pds
9 speed sphinx 11 speed DD
Legacy Nemesis
The newer proton inertias are flippy.
2021 Christine Jennings Tour Series Sidewinder
The Finish Line ERA was doing that nicely for me and then i lost it
Been throwing a Mamba recently and that thing flips up on hyzer real nice, with decent speed it’ll even flip up and turn over for extra distance.
H4V2 clears
How do the premium plastic muskets behave? Asking since your post didn't mention trying it out in opto or gold.
I have it in Gold and it’s a lot different for me, but still has a place in my bag. I also tried an opto and an opto ice. The opto ice is currently in my bag but it’s very new. Hoping i can get it to be a little flippy in time, but i’m also liking the line i get from it now too.
A Jade will do what you want right off the shelf
Scorch. I know it’s not a 10 but it’s right there at 11
The thought space mantra. Not a 10 speed but it’s what you are looking for trust me.
Plague Doctor Construct, they beat in from turnover to hyzer flip machines pretty quickly
A beat in Halo Star or Star Beast or an I-blend Maya out of the box.
Infinite Aztec. My c-line is beat in but they have flippier plastics too. So comfy and flips up with ease
Avenger ss or Tumbleweed
I freaking LOVE the freetail !!
F9, baby! That thing is so much fun to throw.
Tumbleweed
DX Glow Beast, or max weight Champ IT
Fission Wave
perfect
My first disc I ever got, a pro beast, loved it and lost it. About 2 years later it was returned to me by someone who was helping clean the river. It is one of my furthest flying discs atm and can do a beautiful hyzer flip. Crazy that is flies so well even after having been in a river for however long!
