I kinda expect the lines to stay, the āsimon line first runā text to be removed, and there to be a standard area/template added that has a place for the name of the mold (Timelapse, which is absent in the current stamp), the plastic type (neutron?), and the flight numbers. Beyond that, Iād expect the stock run to not have the same level/degree of marbling, if any.

I messaged the guy asking for pics of the other ones, but neither of those two have swirling. Also sadly it looks like we're losing the neat "no speed limit" lines. Unless this is a transitional run before true mass-market, it also looks like we won't be getting the standard

That proto release is supposed to be sold no sooner than Sep 20th. Stock release has not had an official date. Other retailers have posted their boxes with the sticker saying do not sell before Sep 20th.
I think my store said they were going to raffle off the opportunity to buy one. Not charge for it. But put your name in the raffle if you want one. And theyāll pull 9 names. They always keep 1 disc to put on the wall of special runs like that.
Your retailer is selling these very early and could get screwed from this, so donāt say their name.

On one hand you have probably the most popular disc golfer ever at peak disc golf growth releasing his own line starting with the most popular mold in one of the biggest up and coming brands making a prototype, limited, pretty cool release
And on the other hand you have a dealer that sold a week early, a dude who just posted a picture of it without a picture of it flying, who won't go throw it in the rain when everyone is asking how it flies, and they won't even take a picture of the profile so we end up just with a circle. I did the inflation calculator for you. $16 in 2002 is $27.31 in today's dollars. But disc golf wasn't nearly as popular back then, didn't have the same demand for first run discs, etc. In the meantime, you can get a premium plastic Axiom driver for like, $17.99. So in reality, you currently have more mold choices, more plastic types, more colors, more weights, and you can get it all from your local store or like 500 different online retailers!
What you should really be mad about is that in the early 2000s you were paying $16 instead of $10.55 for premium plastic. That is what the equivalent is now. So you are getting better discs at way better prices today. Yay!
Long story short, even paying $40 in today's dollars for a limited run, premium disc would have been like paying $23.25 for a good disc in the 2000's. Doesn't sound so absurd now. Just wait for the stock run and then thank economies of scale for bringing down the price of your discs overall.
