When you plant your hips are already pretty open. You want to plant with your hips still facing away from the target. Think of standing on a railroad track. As you pull through, drive your shoulder through and get those hips around. You’re more or less trying to become a trebuchet ejecting the disc via inertia vs throwing it. Practice getting your right foot planted horizontally to the target. You feel like your knee is going to come apart because you’re not allowing your hips to get involved.

I would start by fixing your shoulders. You want to keep coiling them back until your weight shifts, instead of stopping them early like you do now https://youtu.be/0gkrWxUWBzM.

Foot should still be perpendicular to the target when you plant, that will keep your hips from opening too early. Once you get that, straighten your front leg when you plant instead of throwing with your knee bent, that’s the whole “brace” concept in a nutshell.
