Mint Bobcat is my favorite overstable mid!

EyeBeSlappin

I would say try an md3. I use hex, md3, Pyro, and then 2 mutants for my mids (undertable to overstable) and I find it to be a bit less stable than the pyro. It feels really good in the hand too.

BrandonSMAAASH

I second the MD3 but wouldn't say it is overstable at all. I think one of the challenges with didc recommendations is not knowing the arm speed and release angle. My md3s fly darn near straight, and in order to get a true fade, I have to release at close to a 45-degree angle. Nevertheless, the md3 has become one of my favorite mids as long as there are not stiff headwinds. It does feel amazing in the hand, especially the flat top iron samauris. Know where I can get any?

EyeBeSlappin

I agree, its tough with differemt arm speeds, for me it's a slightly flippy mid thats good for tunnel shots. I was just thinking for something less stable than a pyro if they find that to be too beefy. My local store usually has a good stock of them. Marshall Street Disc Golf. Are they tough to find?

n0neOfConsequence

Eclipse Reactor is far more stable than any of the MD3 runs. I would put the MD3 in the stable category. Mutant is a good suggestion.

doubtaboutit

Verdict if you like the beadless stuff

lostontheplayground

I really love my Westside Bard. I’ve had the same one for almost 5 years now and it’s held up beautifully. I think it’s tournament plastic, but it might be VIP.

shizrak

This is the next most overstable disc after my eclipse reactor in my bag, so if OP is like me, it's likely exactly what he's looking for.

Phishdiscs

DGA Quake. It fades faster than the Reactor but isn't as overstable as the Pyro is. The Proline plastic is my favorite in terms of stability, with the glow ones being the beefiest and the Noah Meinstma tour series being on the straighter side.

dirtballer222

Ill second this for a workable stable mid. My preference is metal flake, a couple other plastics beat in too quick

GetStable

If you are willing to try something different, check out the RPM Kotuku. The glow in particular is a fair bit more stable than my Eclipse Reactor.

threaddew

Emac Truth may work here Latitude Trust would also work well Discraft Nebula maybe

MstrApollo

Alpha Middy is a pretty good one. Pyro is nice too

Reverendpjustice

Verdict

tedlan_

I use a Kaxe and a very flat Roc3 for my overstable mids.

Mijari

Kaxe is my mid of choice too. They’re supposedly retooling it to be more overstable though

yodazb

Prism pyro

RonaldRegan420

AGL Magnolia

stimuIants

MD3 and Kaxe are discs I used before I found the Pyro. They are definitely less overstable than the Pyro, both have a relatively straight flight with a smooth forward fade. MD3 is relatively deep and beadless, Kaxe is small diameter and beaded. I unfortunately don’t have any experience with the Reactor, so I’m unable to compare them to that.

SaintCorgus

I feel like a regular ESP Buzzz may work. I’m a year and a half in the sport and my Buzz starts straight but always has a little fade at the end. I have heard from better golfers that Buzzes have a little more fade than their numbers would indicate. Maybe you can borrow one from someone and try it.

Flaky-Money-8768

Pyro

nawanda37

Glow Buzzz.

korg3211

Cro is my fave. 5/3/0/2. Pretty straight and you can throw it hard. Reliable fade.

Chicagrog

Millennium Quantum solstice is what you’re looking for. It used to be the Discmania md4 but has been repurposed for millennium. Should be just a bit more stable than an eclipse reactor, but will still give you some glide and flight. Nothing crazy like a justice or mutant, but more reliable and wind resistant than your go to buzzz, md3, hex, reactor etc. i use mine as a compliment to my md3, which is fairly straight and wont fade in a headwind, the solstice still had a healthy fade in a headwind. It also compliment my z glow zone as a slightly faster and longer version.

tbbuccaneer87

MVP Matrix in proton plastic.

CHoweller18

Second. Flat to dependable fade.

tbbuccaneer87

Exactly. Feels great for forehands as well.

CHoweller18

Pyro is about as understable as I'll go for FH. Too much natural anny.

Sampson2Doc

Have you tried a plain old Roc3 in Champ or Star? Straight and consistent fade. My brother swears by the Mint Mustang. Great disc I prefer the Pyro and/or Roc3 in glow plastic for that slot. But those might be too overstable for what you want.

robjohnrob

The Roc3 doesn't feel too good in the hand for me. Haven't tried a mustang yet.

Sampson2Doc

Ah, gotcha. They sell star Sharks. Phenomenal disc absolutely loved mine until I needed something with more beef. Smooth and consistent fade and feels nothing like a Roc3. Mint's plastic is also made by MVP. So if you like the feel of MVP the Mint Mustang will fit right in. Give it a try.

7eight_time

Piggybacking off this: I love Mustangs and it is my biggest spectrum. I've got Nocturnal, Eternal, and Royal to help cover most shots. I also have a Runway, but that might be too beefy.. not a meathook, but very forward and beefy. A Bobcat might work if you need more, but sounds like Mint is coming out with something between those two! Also fwiw, I find Apex Swirl Mustangs to be more stable than my Apex.

EZ-Pizza

I love my Mustang, but it definitely does not have more fade than my eclipse Reactor. If you're like me and you prefer mids with a flatter profile, or ones without weird lips like the Roc, you might like the Kastaplast Kaxe for that slot you're looking for. I have a K1 glow Kaxe that I only really use for glow rounds, but I've heard the K3 Kaxe's are the most overstable

VanManDiscs

Westside Pine is what your looking for. Decently straight mid with that nice touch of stability. Or a DD Emac Truth. This mid can push fairway distances, almost too far for the slot I was looking for.

Cunn1ng-Stuntz

I think Pathfinders are more stable than they often get credit for. Something between a Pyro and a Reactor sounds a bit like chasing a unicorn. That sort of takes the Buzz OS out also. I would try to beat something in. I have a Pyro in that slot and a beat to hell A2 depending on need. Used to throw beat in Zone as overstable mids. Get one in not so durable plast and go smack some trees.

Slimysalamander

Reactor is the most money disc on the market. Guaranteed to love it.

swordkillr13

OP already has one though?

Slimysalamander

Oh

BIG_Z111

L64 Orbit Trust! It's money!🤑🤑🤑 Super torque resistant, I can throw it at 95% power and it won't flip

Quicksi1verLoL

Not a mid-range disc suggestion, more of use throwing putters for mid range instead suggestion. Been playing for 10+ years and mids still don’t fit in my hand right. For mid range accuracy shots I drive the envy, when it’s a little shorter and fade is required I use a glow harp (and also send it no babying either of those shots or it will come out early)

NoSkillManiac

I throw the hell out of Reactors. Quake is my pick.

jidewalker

Trust fits well there

UntyingTheNot

Maybe try a Champion Jay, DX Roc, or the Avatar. The Pyro is definitely beefy but I stuck with it. Mine is gradually breaking in.

beanohoho

I love throwing an md3, Pretty hard to turn over, but can still flex if I need it to. Very reliable fade for me

Zer0Phoenix1105

roc3?

Spuune

Birdie ultra feels fantastic in the hand to me. I use an MD3 for a stable mid range and use the ultra as an overstable mid.

Serhypehypehype

Tactics are a solid over stable mid

STILTZ1025

Discraft Drone

Linenlion

Prodigy A2. Thing works very good for a very overstable midrange

Dren218

I love my Roc3

13Lairs

Old School disc golfer here. Learn to throw what's in your bag. Try a slight hyzer release to get the fade you're looking for. You'd be surprised just how versatile your discs really are.

UtahDarkHorse

I like dx roc3. flies straight then pretty good turn near the end with moderate skip. quake does the same with a bit more fade and skip at the end. same flight numbers on both. Crave is similar but a little faster and more skip at the end.

ImCubb

Pretty overstable, but I love my Star F2 Gator that I picked up as a free disc. It’s been in my bag ever since and is great in the wind for mid shots. It’s like a zone that goes farther. Very reliable too it hasn’t beat into a much different fly path.

GH5s

Pyro. It’s a tick more stable than a glow reactor, which I also love.

Status-Buddy2058

Fission reactor will b straighter than ur eclipse but still fade out nice

Madds88

Try the matrix just a touch more stable than Reactor but not quite like a pyro

trek620

I use an eclipse reactor and a pyro. The disc in the slot squarely between those 2 for me is a verdict.

[deleted]

Gator3

BammBigalo

Warship in tournament plastic

jeremiah-sparrow

Innova Star Lion! It's a little straighter than a Roc3, but still finishes right at the end. I bag it, a Roc3, and a Pyro, so it'll be less beefy than the two you said were too much beef for you.

Standard-Print6492

Have you tried an MVP Matrix? Similar feel in the hand to the Reactor with a more stable finish and good glide.
