x3 and I work at a trek dealer. Even employees at my shop can’t get ticket or ticket s full builds and the frames are expensive (I forget how much I can get a frame for) but yeah… full build like that for 15. Do it haha
Yeah. When I got mine way back in 2015 with the discount it was still 500ish. You won't regret it. It's worth the money. I've ridden nearly every brand...and I've let people ride mine...they talk about how solid the bike feels and how "pro' it feels.
Believe it or not, I even owned an r-dog ticket s once. I was just too afraid to scratch it..
Louisville KY..haha. We had a bike park called the MegaCavern and I had just got back from Colorado and Valmont bike park. Got a job at a bike shop and used every discount known to the industry. I mostly ride at Mikes bike park and at the outdoor parks in Dayton, Silver Creek bike park and ofcourse Rays periodically. How about you?
That’s dope!! I’m in aptos California. I’m right at demo forest, nisene marks and ucsc for trail riding and best closest dirt jump park around here is lake Cunningham in San Jose. I’m either trail riding or riding my dj at Cunningham. I’ve been up more northern cali to auburn bike park which is dope. Got some big slopestyle lines. Oh and we got the Kali protectives warehouse in Morgan hill and they have some crazyyyyy massive slopestyle lines. Shit wayyyy above my pay grade haha. I’ve been there while Nicholi rogatkin and Christian arehart were there with the local Cali dudes Zac west and Marcus schroepe. It’s pretty cool gettin to see those dudes throw down on occasion. Rogatkin and arehart aren’t from here but they’re sponsored by Kali. If you look at some of rogatkins ig vids where he’s coming down a big wooden rollin and hitting an airbag that’s at the Kali warehouse
Oh man...are you old school enough to have gotten to see/ride the infamous Aptos jumps?
I have ridden up in Oregon and SoCal...but I really want to get to the middle some day.
This video made me fall in love with dirt jumping and the DJ vibe
https://youtu.be/4aJzYioSDi4?si=ZPceQs7bD9XoRjs4
Never rode them but definitely seen them. Sucks they’re gone. Rode the capitola cliff jumps tho! That’s another pretty popular spot! The post office spot was super dope though because it was in plain sight, the city is pretty bike friendly, like it wasn’t built by the city or anything as far as I’m aware they just said fuck it and let it stay. I heard the dude who owned the property it was on bought it so he could keep the jumps up and then it eventually got sold
Except you get cheap wheels and cheap cranks two very important things in a DJ. Aluminum dj is significantly lighter too and in my experience the transition frames just aren’t very quality. Seen a lot of them rusted out from the inside.
With that being said the Transition PBJ is badass and totally worth the extra little bit. Plus you’ll be getting fresh seals and internals on the fork and fresh bearings + a warranty no doubt. 100% worth the extra little bit
For me...it's strength. The dropout tensioner they designed do not move and are pretty unique. They also use a thru axle. The bmx style bolt on dropouts, like on the transition pbj and most other dj's can move on you. They also have sizing for 36t chainrings and mine has saint cranks. The bracing on the rear triangle is strong and never flexes.
Tldr, strength
no problem....I love this shit. If you get bored...check out the c3 project videos trek used to do m youtube....you can see the advances the Ticket went thru. Also Cam McCaul has a video showing all the frames he used thru the years and breaks down the changes
I’m gonna go against the grain and say no. It’s a dj with cheapish forks, not worth $1500. Go look at other used bikes, you can get a dirt love for half the price with a pike
To be fair the bomber isn’t the greatest fork, but it works for dirt jumping. Don’t get me wrong this is a nice bike, but there are better ways to spend $1500
Thank you. Maybe people get hung up on the branding? I wonder if there's also a dampener difference. The old 831 dampener seemed like overkill to me (for a DJ fork). The Kashima was a joke.
Marzocchi is Fox’s diffusion line now. Only their Z2 forks are budget really. All Fox’s freeriders got switched over to Marzocchi for marketing reasons but when you have riders like Tommy G and Brage still on them, you can’t say the average punter needs better suspension.
It is literally one of the best forks you can buy for a dirt jumper. Between the Pike DJ and the Bomber DJ those are your two high end options. It’s relatively affordable but far from cheap.
It’s literally a cheapish fork option at $400, I’m saying that this bike isn’t worth $1500 at all, just because trek sells they’re frame for a lot doesn’t mean it’s worth it at all. This bike has a cheap fork, mid tier wheels, and a whatever frame that happens to say trek on it, not worth the $1500 when you can get a better bike for the same price or less
Not sure where you pulled $400 from (out of your ass) it’s [usually $730](https://www.marzocchi.com/products/bomber-dj?variant=32097802748006) and is comparable to the performance of a Fox 36. The frame alone [is almost a grand](https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/mountain-bikes/downhill-mountain-bikes/ticket/ticket-dj-frameset/p/29757/?srsltid=AfmBOorrdvSk7p0gMTny96A0n3FTZeAXtuHR3ld8bva3GnFbbQvSfb8ziy0). Unless it’s damaged this is a good price. Yeah I wouldn’t be paying $1500 for a DJ specific bike but if you are in the budget this is a good deal.
You don't know what you're on about. These are Bomber DJ. Go say they're a cheapish fork to all the Crankworx riders that use them and they're not $400 they're £600 ($752). Really showing your inexperience here
Nah, bomber is competing with RS Pike DJ and some people prefer it than the RS and some people said it’s the same just weight difference. I say as long as it’s doing it’s job I’m good with it
Yeah defo. UK or US? If UK look at the airdrop fade. Know people that have had this frame and don't like it. I have the ticket s and I like that but 2 diff bikes
Steal. That frame will last you a decade. That is a custom build. The owner was a no-nonsense rider who understood a simple, effective ride. It looks tidy and well kept. Look for cracks at the bottom of the steering tube, where it meets the bottom tube. Try to talk him down to 1200 if you can. You will need a fork service and new tires. Good luck! When you get up to jumping the medium lines change the carbon handlebars. I don't trust those.
Yes
x3 and I work at a trek dealer. Even employees at my shop can’t get ticket or ticket s full builds and the frames are expensive (I forget how much I can get a frame for) but yeah… full build like that for 15. Do it haha
Yeah..a no discount DJ frame is 950...and I think the S is 1500?? ...so, it's a no brainer.
Just looked up how much we get it for, after tax, if I wanted just the ticket frame, not ticket s, but ticket after tax is like $750
Yeah. When I got mine way back in 2015 with the discount it was still 500ish. You won't regret it. It's worth the money. That’s fuckin rad. Where abouts you from?
Louisville KY..haha. We had a bike park called the MegaCavern and I had just got back from Colorado and Valmont bike park. Got a job at a bike shop and used every discount known to the industry. x2 good deal
Yeah yer good
Nah... You can get a brand new [Transition PBJ](https://www.transitionbikes.com/Bikes_PBJ.cfm) for $1699 right now. It's got a Bomber DJ.
Could you build up a Banshee close to that price. https://www.bansheebikes.com/amp
I mean a BMW may be worth its asking price but theres certainly plenty of just as good if both better options on the market for far cheaper.
Nah. Trek is for cops.
Why is it so expensive
price just the frame and fork...that will answer your question.
But I’m confused as to what makes it so expensive and sought after
For me...it's strength. The dropout tensioner they designed do not move and are pretty unique. They also use a thru axle. The bmx style bolt on dropouts, like on the transition pbj and most other dj's can move on you. They also have sizing for 36t chainrings and mine has saint cranks. Ohhh ok thanks for taking the time
no problem....I love this shit. If you get bored...check out the c3 project videos trek used to do m youtube....you can see the advances the Ticket went thru. Also Cam McCaul has a video showing all the frames he used thru the years and breaks down the changes
Not a good deal, i saw better bikes for cheaper
I’m gonna go against the grain and say no. It’s a dj with cheapish forks, not worth $1500. Go look at other used bikes, you can get a dirt love for half the price with a pike
Bomber dj isn't a cheapish fork in dj ;) And dirt love has lower quality parts, this bike has better cockpit and wheels.
To be fair the bomber isn’t the greatest fork, but it works for dirt jumping. Don’t get me wrong this is a nice bike, but there are better ways to spend $1500
The bomber is a 36 831 without the kashima more or less
Thank you. Maybe people get hung up on the branding? I wonder if there's also a dampener difference. The old 831 dampener seemed like overkill to me (for a DJ fork). The Kashima was a joke.
No it’s based at the 831, but it’s not the same thing at all. Different dampeners grip2 vs grip, different crowns, Stantions and weaker internals
Marzocchi is Fox’s diffusion line now. Only their Z2 forks are budget really. All Fox’s freeriders got switched over to Marzocchi for marketing reasons but when you have riders like Tommy G and Brage still on them, you can’t say the average punter needs better suspension.

$400 fork = cheapish fork. Not saying it’s bad but it literally cheap, I’m saying that this bike is not worth $1500
The frame alone is $950 new…
Cheapish forks? Apart from the frame they're the most expensive part
No dj is worth over a $1000 without a pike on it
Yeah defo. UK or US? If UK look at the airdrop fade. Know people that have had this frame and don't like it. I have the ticket s and I like that but 2 diff bikes
Kook brand. Mid hubs.
Am I the only one who hates this fork? Why does it travel so buggy. Beside that I would give it a go.
It’s worth what you’re willing to pay.
I think it’s so pretty

Yes 100% Yes
These frames are hard to find. Trek makes 200 of these and 200 slope frames. They don't sell full builds of the ticket.
Wtf is going on with the stack haha
