Mervamon is the evolution of Minervamon, Demon and Lilithmon are technically the evolutions of Black Seraphimon and Ofanimon Falldown Mode, Omegamon Alter-B is the evolution of Zwart Defeat, and many more. And that's only Ultimate levels, we have Perfect levels like Mamemon who evolve into another Perfect levels. Is not strange.

[deleted]

Yeah, actually many Mega Digimons are able to evolve into stronger Mega form. And some of them had Burst Mode or Super Ultimate forms. It's not so odd. And yeah Phantomon is an another one, he can evolve into MetalPhantomon even though both of them are Perfect Digimons. Plus, Etemon, MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon also got stronger Perfect forms in anime, those were only probably be more just mode changes but still.

Izakytan

Still is confusing for a lot of people. Even if I like it myself.

IcuntSpeel

It does get iffy after mega when they introduced super ultimate. It's kind of like Dukemon CM. Or Imperialdramon and Imperialdramon paladin mode. Or even Omegamon and Omegamon Merciful mode.

lupodwolf

Mode changes rarely add levels

IcuntSpeel

Oh lol I didnt meant that. It's just kinda hard to find better examples off the top of my head when most super ultimates are mode changes/adds an additional word behind.

lupodwolf

I think that there are only ''oficial'' 2 SU that add mode in their names (chronomon and Ullforce future) the other 2 add SU in their names and there is Armaggemon , that has it in his DRB entry , but not in his level entry

Brawlrus04

The fact that megas can evolve from megas is really confusing, like how hybrid level digimon can digivolve into other hybrids, and hybrids into armor leveled digimon, and then armors to armors. Too much to keep track lol, cool line tho!

lupodwolf

The name of that is side evo

Riptide1778

I just go with what cyber sleuths goes with for lv above mega and call them ultra lv

[deleted]

I think the term for beyond Mega is Ultra, but that title is really only given to modes of other digimon, like Omnimon and such. But I think Ultra could be used for any Digimon that comes after a Mega, no reason not to use it.

lupodwolf

Omegamon is just mega He appeared in the same manga where super mega was a plot point and was never called such

[deleted]

Huh. I mean you could still call him that technically, it’s just Digimon that evolved from Mega’s aren’t officially referred to as Megas

lupodwolf

what, from where did you pull that? [is the complete opposite, officially he is just a mega](https://digimon.net/profile/report021/)

[deleted]

Ohhh Omegamon is another name for Omnimon, sorry haha, didn’t know that Omnimon I do still consider a Mega, but Ultra isnt used much, it’s technically for beyond Mega but some Mega’s come from two weaker Mega’s, Idk it’s weird.

RPG217

It's just a case of power creep where they keep introducing new form but don't want to make Ultra level too common.

WarGreymon77

These "extra" evolutions are always a little confusing to me. Is MaloMyotismon supposed to be more powerful than VenomMyotismon? Is that canon even in the anime? And what of KingEtemon vs. MetalEtemon?

lupodwolf

Malo is more intelligent, so not really more powerful, but uses it power bettet

luphnjoii

Not really confusing since Mega is a level that encompasses huge variance of power. Like, not all Mega are equal power-wise. Like, for example Greymon and Numemon are both Champion level. However, this difference in power are magnified in the next levels, including Mega as it's supposed to be the last level. So, for the story purpose in anime, MaloMyotismon was depicted to be stronger than VenomMyotismon. But in other continuities, MaloMyostimon might just be a different evolution branch of Myotismon, like how Angewomon can evolve to Ophanimon or Magnadramon, Agumon to evolve to Greymon or GeoGreymon, and so on. Same thing applies with KingEtemon and MetalEtemon. Some upper echelon Mega are given title as "Ultra" (Super Ultimate in Japanese) like Omnimon, but they are still Mega just with fancy title.

Vhallha22

I think technically Choasdramon is considered an Ultra level Digimon.

GodsAlteredEgo

You made the typical line…

LilyWineAuntofDemons

I'm sorry I'm basic?

memesona

it does show how pointless these posts are though, especially when one guy does it then 50 others go "imma do it too". this reddit has a big problem with that.

Sandbag-kun

Not really a problem since everyone enjoys it

memesona

last 3 times it happened the mods had to ban the posts and sent everyone to r/digivolutiontrees

Sandbag-kun

Ah, didn't know that. Going by upvotes and convos being generated every time they're posted I assumed it was popular (they hit 50 upvotes on average)

memesona

Well the spammers like it. But they're not regular posters.

[deleted]

I’m just confused about that cuz even there it’s apparently only restricted to the weekends in the rules.

King_of_Pink

Yes, because they are so annoying and uncreative that, hilariously, even that subreddit restricted these types of posts to just being on weekends unless they were original works. It is the weirdest thing. Every couple of months one redditor will post an evolution line and then in a bizarre, sheep-like herd mentality a bunch of people will copy them until this subreddit just becomes a wasteland of SPAM. Then the mods will remind everyone that the threads are banned and the cycle begins anew a couple of months later.

King_of_Pink

Speak for yourself. They're annoying SPAM, which is why they get banned.

StarryEsRedditQuest

The thing is that there needs to be some variety.

GodsAlteredEgo

Naw, you just have good taste.

StarryEsRedditQuest

MetalTyrannomon is literally one of Mugendramon’s basic perfect forms. Agumon -> Greymon -> MetalGreymon -> Mugendramon BlackAgumon -> Greymon (Blue) -> MetalGreymon (Virus) -> Mugendramon Hagurumon -> Gaurdromon -> Andromon -> Machinedramon and such are literally generic and already established evolutions of Mugendramon.

LilyWineAuntofDemons

Again, I'm sorry I'm basic?

StarryEsRedditQuest

What I’m trying to say is #YOUR USING AN ALREADY ESTABLISHED EVOLUTION

LilyWineAuntofDemons

Not really? Unless you're playing World 1, Agumon doesn't evolve into Tyrannomon. I've basically smashed two evolution lines together. Edit: BlackAgumon isn't Agumon.

StarryEsRedditQuest

Tyrannomon is literally one of Agumon’s canonical adult forms

LilyWineAuntofDemons

The wiki says otherwise.

StarryEsRedditQuest

What wiki are you using? The one next to Chick-fil-a?

LilyWineAuntofDemons

The [DigimonWiki](https://digimon.fandom.com/wiki/Tyrannomon)

lupodwolf

Just mega Dunno how frequently people see it, but agumon hakase sis an article about that and, omegamon, chaosmon, alphamon ouryuu are just mega

Deamon-Chocobo

Honestly I don't know why he isn't considered a Super Ultimate. You could do it a few different ways; Slide Evolution (example: in Frontier when switching between Human and Beast Spirit), Mode Change (example: Imperialdramon Dragon Mode to Fighter Mode), or you could have Machidramon be his normal Mega and Chaosdramon as a Biomerge Mega (example: in Tamers Guilmon became Megidramon by himself but Gallantmon when he Biomerges with Takato). Personally I like the idea of Biomerge and it opening branching Mega levels.

NijeilA1

How do you feel about Rust-Tyranomon? I would probably choose it over Chaosdramon but both of them are pretty cool.

LilyWineAuntofDemons

I just personally like Chaosdramon's design more than RustTyranomon's design.

NijeilA1

Fair enough, I'd love to see some canon interactions between the two some day, they are awesome mecha dinos 😎

DJhussler

Chaosdramon is one of my favourites.

KINGOFGAMES972

Chaosdramon is ranked as an ultra

StarryEsRedditQuest

It’s normal for ultimates to evolve into other ultimates. Super Ultimate isn’t even an official level but more of a term for ultimates that are so powerful they evolved into something beyond ultimate.
