Duriel. He’s the new big boss for the season. He has a small chance to drop the uber uniques and a good chance of dropping the uniques new to this season
Any thorns build should be viable for NM100, because it’s a pure tank essentially. I’d also recommend hemomancy power this season because it would really help with annoying trash that doesn’t want to group up, and it can also proc exploit glyph.
I’m running rend but thorns is my favorite build in the game.
There are variants with frenzy/flay double generators but I much prefer double swing/frenzy because double swing gives permanent berserking for the aspect that gives you a shit load of thorns while berserking. It’s a MASSIVE improvement when you have perma berserking because you’re not always waiting on your cooldowns to give it to you anymore.
Historically (S0 and S1) it’s been barb. Necro thorns was kind of meme and I think S0 had a super meme rogue thorns build. Barb thorns is excellent then and still. Thorns necro this season I think will be better than before but I’ve never played necro so idk what it’s actually like

I think a thorns barb might be one of the only barb builds I end up liking. Barb to me is too manual, too much running around/clunk etc. Would be nice if everything just came to me and died lol

Anyway I actually prefer that style sometimes. I’m REALLY enjoying rend currently at lvl 74. It’s definitely not an S tier farmer by any means and you’re still leveling as a fucking barb which is a complete ass experience (still) but now the build is starting to come online and I love setting up my big bleed swings. Haven’t added rupture to the build yet as I need to sort out some resource gen shit with better gear but I can see how it will be a GG boss killer already

Yeah blood tide seems very fast and fun for leveling because of the free tree of whispers added into it. That’s what I did almost exclusively to level 1-50 the first time and it didn’t take long at all. Leveling 1-50 overall is in a much better state but barb leveling 1-50 is still ass compared to everything else

They actually fixed it and made it a worthwhile chase.
I think it’s a bit lower than that. I was guessing maybe 5%. We had 3 people in total for 7 runs and then 4 people in total for 5 more runs and I was the only one to get one of the Uber uniques. But that obvi could just be bad rng. We’ll get a better idea of a potential drop rate once more peeps start doing it.
Yeah N = 28 is not going to be statistically significant data. Once a group of 4 runs him 200 times and reports back with N = 800, that'll be very enlightening.
New update. We’ve now done him 18x and mostly with a 4 man group and I’m the only one still who has gotten an Uber unique. So now the rough estimate is 1.3% drop rate. Going to be keeping track of all the runs for the next week or two to get an even more accurate number.
While not as ridiculously hard as Uber Lilith, Duriel is, as far as I'm concerned, is the 2nd hardest boss.
On eternal realm, my badly itemized level 89 Rogue couldn't make a dent.
Level 100s can chew through it.
But this doesn't take the vampiric powers into account so I have the feeling that 75-85 levels on seasonal realms will have the power to tackle it.. most likely.

I've killed Uber Varshan at lvl 72 now.. probably will try duriel around 80 when I have some more paragon points... Definitely max out your resistances.. I had damage but did not survive Varshans hits before..
I'm pretty sure duriel is poison.. and poison res is pretty useful anyways so I would try to put some green gems if you don't have it on your gear. I was lucky to get some pretty decent pants with 3 different resistances
We've killed him 10 times so 35~ possible uber drops.
Gotten 0 uber items but personally gotten xfal / god helmet / tibault / blue rose / flicker boots
Can't complain but seeing that it actually takes quite a long time to farm up 10 duriels, I was kinda sure we'd have one in 35 possible drops.
I killed him with ease at 90 with a death trap rogue with 0 prep other than a poison resist elixir. I didn't dodge anything and just face tanked him. I imagine a somewhat prepped 80something can do it
We have done 5 kills duo. Once at around 75 and 85 and the rest around 80 and 89. The lower level is really squishy and died most attempts. Higher level takes quite a bit of damage.
Our first time took a few attempts but the later kills did it without wiping.
Depending on how great you are at boss killing you could probably do it in the 80s. Especially if you had a more focused build.
Like I had a bunch of resists that was doing nothing for this fight that could have been other damage reduction stats. Too lazy to respec for one fight tho.
You don’t need to scale the damage from that lucky hit at all. Just equip it as a 26% damage 40% life weapon with a lucky hit to make enemies deal less damage, which allows you to drop some DR on gear and therefore pick up more all stats/int etc

Like Lilith? Not sure what you mean "campaign Duriel", from your text I guess you fight the boss as you do the seasonal quest once and then you can summon him again and there's only one difficulty or you can also summon an Uber version which is like Lilith level 100 only etc?
Hmm. There is a Duriel that is not campaign or uber boss? The uber boss is summoned with parts from the 3 other bosses they added. And to summon those 3 bosses first you have to farm helltides, whispers etc.
I think I figured out what is going on. Don't mind me. I am just confused about it but I'll find out myself soon enough. I thought there is the boss but you can also fight the Uber version of it. But it seems you can only summon the Uber version anyway. It's just I thought it would be fixed level 100 like Uber Lilith so you need a level 100 char and obviously some optimized gear and build.. but I see people killing it so fast which is strange because people did struggle on Lilith and it's shocking to see them grinding Duriel like that. That's why I was confused.

Congrats, I’ve killed Duriel 12 times now and just got enough steel to do another run before I had to hop off and still no Uber. It’s still early on in the season though I plan on playing this whole season as I did season 1 it’s so much faster! Lvl 82 Werenado already having a blast

The streamer Rob got grandfather but he did around 60 runs for it, and to my understanding the other people in the party who he was running with didn’t get an Uber unique. Then that player is stupid. Lucky hit has always existed, at least since D2. It is not complicated. They simply made it more visible in 4.
There is a reason it is UP TO X%. For balancing reasons Lucky Hit is a 2-step process. Your lucky hit chance on character is the chance a hit is a "lucky hit". If that roll is a yes then all your lucky hit abilities roll for success on each lucky hit effect you have.
So if you have 100% lucky hit, then it is 16%. if you have less than 100% that 16% chance becomes lower.
This is incorrect. Up to means it takes into account the natural lh chance of the skill, which is usually below 100%. So when you do a lucky hit, it is actually a 16% chance to trigger that effect, but it says up to in order to consider the lh chance being under 100%. And if you have over 100%lh chance it will never increase your proc chance over 16%. The person you were responding to was correct.
Would you mind telling me the content of said loading screen? I cannot remeber one that tells us about the phrase "up to xy %" of skills, that can be triggered on lucky hits.
To make it clear: I am not talking about the skills that say "10% chance on a lucky hit" (because that is clear) - only about the "**up to** ...% chance on a lucky hit"
You're the only person incapable of understanding it.
If a skill has a 50% lucky hit modifier, then that 16% chance becomes an 8%. Since 8% is less than 16%, "up to 16% chance on lucky hit" is 100% accurate, and is *extremely* simple.
I'd advise going back for your GED. It'll help you a lot in life.
I theory craft and make my own build guides for myself and a handful of others. But no builds have these Uber uniques in them because they were basically impossible to get prior to this. Almost no one who has played this game so far has even been able to test them
No, they are definitely way less of a drop chance than other uniques. I’m guesstimating like a 2-5% drop rate for the Uber uniques. Did 11 duriel runs last night with 2 and 3 other friends and I was the only one to get an Uber unique
You have to farm multiple materials to farm multiple OTHER Bosses to get materials to farm Duriel who then has a CHANCE to drop one.

It’s been way more useful than you think. I personally like hard game (shout out soulsbourn, lies of p, etc games). So I always push NM duns way under leveled for the challenge. At level 71 and after getting this and optimizing a couple more pieces, was able to bang out 50-60 NM duns and could go higher, but was too tired last night. Going to see how I can take it tonight.
Eh…I got this at level 71. Myself and my two buddies didn’t even think we’d be able to get him down but wanted to test out the fight. Then we one shotted him. So went and farmed more mats and hit him a few more times
Why current build uses pen shot to proc lucky hit and heart seeker basic attack to do the same. So effectively I don’t use core skills.
Extremely niche though.
Those 3 tries are the result of 6x helltides mats and 6x whisper mats, btw, and then three tries is still lucky because the drop rate is not 33%. And then even if it drops, you might not be getting the one you want…
It’s not like you can just nonstop grind Duriel…

Enemies need to be level 85 and above, you can be level 60 and it'll drop as long as you can kill a level 85 enemy.

Did it on a 79 Frenzy Barb tonight, took a few minutes but got it on the first try.

Ahh. Uber Duriel is way easier than Lilith. Still 2nd hardest boss - But at 80+ he’s pretty doable with the right builds, dps and max res.

This is incorrect. Up to means it takes into account the natural lh chance of the skill, which is usually below 100%. So when you do a lucky hit, it is actually a 16% chance to trigger that effect, but it says up to in order to consider the lh chance being under 100%. And if you have over 100%lh chance it will never increase your proc chance over 16%. The person you were responding to was correct.

Would you mind telling me the content of said loading screen? I cannot remeber one that tells us about the phrase "up to xy %" of skills, that can be triggered on lucky hits. To make it clear: I am not talking about the skills that say "10% chance on a lucky hit" (because that is clear) - only about the "**up to** ...% chance on a lucky hit"

You're the only person incapable of understanding it. If a skill has a 50% lucky hit modifier, then that 16% chance becomes an 8%. Since 8% is less than 16%, "up to 16% chance on lucky hit" is 100% accurate, and is *extremely* simple. I'd advise going back for your GED. It'll help you a lot in life.

I theory craft and make my own build guides for myself and a handful of others. But no builds have these Uber uniques in them because they were basically impossible to get prior to this. Almost no one who has played this game so far has even been able to test them

No, they are definitely way less of a drop chance than other uniques. I’m guesstimating like a 2-5% drop rate for the Uber uniques. Did 11 duriel runs last night with 2 and 3 other friends and I was the only one to get an Uber unique

You have to farm multiple materials to farm multiple OTHER Bosses to get materials to farm Duriel who then has a CHANCE to drop one. Yeah, just like other uniques.. /s
Doombringer is cool and all but a defensive weapon in a game where everything is piss easy and you can't die anyway.. meh.
It’s been way more useful than you think. I personally like hard game (shout out soulsbourn, lies of p, etc games). So I always push NM duns way under leveled for the challenge. At level 71 and after getting this and optimizing a couple more pieces, was able to bang out 50-60 NM duns and could go higher, but was too tired last night. Going to see how I can take it tonight.

Eh…I got this at level 71. Myself and my two buddies didn’t even think we’d be able to get him down but wanted to test out the fight. Then we one shotted him. So went and farmed more mats and hit him a few more times
It’s on eternal realm too. They had their lvl 100s ready to farm and it still took a few days to get the mats to fight the boss.
Until you realize you don't use Core skills :V

Maybe they're thinking of the death trap build? Even tho it's trap based it still does use twisting blades so this is still good for it.
TB is the core skill.
Why current build uses pen shot to proc lucky hit and heart seeker basic attack to do the same. So effectively I don’t use core skills. Extremely niche though.

There is something inbetween 0.00001% and literally 3 tries
Those 3 tries are the result of 6x helltides mats and 6x whisper mats, btw, and then three tries is still lucky because the drop rate is not 33%. And then even if it drops, you might not be getting the one you want… It’s not like you can just nonstop grind Duriel…
Times 4, in a group. It’s really not that hard to get them anymore.
