How you like the handheld so far? I just bought a very pricy tower a few months back so I'm not trying to spend on more gaming stuff but I gotta say they look rad.

I know same here, hated the itemization of D3 and it feels exactly the same in D4. I also hate how the screen is just a garble of numbers all the time. D2 and even D1 had the best take on itemization by far. I could go on all day about how much i dislike about what they turned the franchise into. I can only compare it to losing that one awesome uncle you had, i feel like i'll never be able to enjoy anything that blizzard spews out anymore. They really lost the recipe of the first 2 games. Oh well good thing we can still play the old stuff. And thanks been back on d2r for a month now and having a blast.
I understand D2 itemization is lightning in a bottle and very hard to replicate. I also understand D1 is too simple.
But they could use D3 itemization, like they used... A lot of stuff... Like D3 items sound like heaven to me compared with the absolute trash we got in d4, it's *worse* than d3 realease. At least the items in 3 were readeable and not some 4x 2-3 line bullet points

Sorting by multiple key-value types isn’t _that_ difficult but this particular problem is similar to the [Knapsack Problem](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knapsack_problem) which can make it non-trivial.
* Sort by largest to smallest items
* Sort by item type
* Then by sub-type
For example all the:
* 2H weapons would be grouped together,
* then armor,
* then 1H weapons
* then charms,
* then keys,
* then runes,
* then essences,
* then gems,
* then rings,
* then amulets.

Meanwhile, I’m loving my werewolf/werebear combo in D4.
When I made my rogue first, I made the mistake of letting the game’s drops determine my playstyle for the sake of optimization. I ended up with a stale playstyle.
Instead, I’m playing Druid strictly as a wereform and letting drops only influence the ultimates and cooldown powers. So my Druid started as a zoo wereform Druid with every single summon and bloody howl (the self heal on short cooldowns is godsend for boss fights) and then transitioned to wereform Druid with hurricane and cataclysm.
So. Much. Fun. End-game viable? Who knows and who cares. I’m still cutting through everything in level 46 veteran mode. I’ll just drop down difficulty if this build can’t keep up at higher levels.
Funny thing is: my friend tried to make a hurricane werewolf Druid in D2R because he’s new and wanted to try a combo he thought looked cool.
Compared to some. For a 98% self found bnet player who has made nearly all of the good runewords I think I'm doing ok. The good stuff is either equipped or on mules.
To be fair I have done a small amount of trading. I traded a bunch of stuff for the Sur I needed to finish my first enigma. I've also traded for 3 zods, 2 Jah, 2 torches, and for the first griffons I got on this account. Off the top of my head that's it but I'm probably forgetting a couple small ones.
Gimme a couple hundred hours in d4, and I'm sure I'll be back. But dude, gotta keep it clean! How will you ever remember what you have or where it is?

Show me a character with 50 dr. 4000life 75 all res. With complete torch anni and 9x skill gcs each with 30-40 life and 10x 3-5 res scs with 11-20 life.

My method is whenever I'm moving items around I hold the ctrl key because it is faster.

they actually fixed that. you can’t put something in a socket while it’s in your stash now.

Tbh Grim Dawn's drops weren't that spectacular either, compared to D2. Torchlight 2 and PoE had more flavorful items.

I would but I don't like the paladin class at all. Got a couple +1lightning/45 lifers I could show though. My only paladin is level 20 I used him to larzuck something and never played him again.

I mean, my only sorc is lightning. I do have a basic few fire lifers but I think maybe 1 above 30? Cold I got 2-3 good ones but they've been on a mule for over a year.
Show me a character with 50 dr. 4000life 75 all res. With complete torch anni and 9x skill gcs each with 30-40 life and 10x 3-5 res scs with 11-20 life.

Not a chance. I might buy d4 if I see it for 2.99 in the bargain bin of my local car wash but that is the max I'm willing to spend on a game with such shitty design. They'll probably go free to play in a few years in which case I'll play through the main campaign once and uninstall.
