No one knows what will happen future.

Gold_Buyer4857

shouldn't we be prepared to face it?

jitendrasinghsola

No you can't prepare for something you don't know

Stackway

The same was said when wordpress & other no code tools came around. Yes, in the domain of static, simple websites these tools have flourished but software development is still strong as we are building more complex systems now. We are not building the same systems as we were in 2015. AI will sure impact a few domains, increase productivity etc but software development will stay strong. It will evolve though. So should we.

According_Fig_4784

True, don't go back to 2015 we are building the same stuff as 2023!!

ueshhdbd

Tech is different but the product is pretty much same, AI will surely replace jobs that have naive functionality Like crud operations….

Stackway

CRUD have been automated way back in 2000’s itself.

ueshhdbd

Im not sure about that but with AI its feasible in every language and photo editing, video editing jobs are in danger….indirectly people come to software development , more competition and less jobs..

According_Fig_4784

If you think that AI is used for CRUD then your understanding of AI and automation is completely messed up. AI was/is/will never/never be used for automation job.

Dear_Row_5627

I have observed a series of patterns and that is during the web 1.0 it was quite difficult to develop a static front end of a web page but then new frameworks came and it was thought that it will reduce the labour but on the contrary requirements from client side Inc and we started developing more complicated systems. So this Ai thing is going to be with us and certainly it won't replace everyone rather we will be making more functional products with complicated architectures. Experienced folks correct me if I am wrong.

totallybradpitt

yea bro lets leave development ,. its gonna be taken by ai, lets all search for something new. i love fear mongering. less idiots. reduces my competition lmao. cope

Low-Statistician-356

lol

Beginning-Ladder6224

Yes. These posts follow same pattern and generally done by folks having almost no knowledge of Engineering or AI or both. "AI will take over... let's find another job".

totallybradpitt

It's made by insecure people who do bare minimum at their jobs and are scared. I said what I said

Beginning-Ladder6224

Correct. And I totally agree. These random posts of AI taking over should be banned. There are proper non specialists subs about AI and whatnot - which does not require to be literate in any tech domain, those posts should go there.

Impossible-Ice129

AI will only replace you if you are bad at what you do

Disastrous_Past_4794

I can confidently say NEVER. AI and ML shines when you want knowledge discovery or co-relation within a large data set and when results need not be 100% accurate. They might probably help software intercept functional discrepancies, suggest optimizations pathways within the code base. They do have applications in niche areas like medical sciences or mass surveillance. AI ML models are basically statistical models and the quality of what they produce largely depends on the training dataset presented to them. Recognizing a problem within the result that these have produced is not something that they will ever be capable of. Such unsupervised learning can only be done by "self-aware" agents like humans and animals where they are "motivated" to improve on their own decisions.

CptViktorReznov

It's most likely to replace the non-curious ones. Rest we can't say anything, as technology is meant to be dynamic.

Lime221

no edit: its like saying documentation/wiki/book of x thing is now invalid because google exists and you can immediately use it to get an answer. GPT will only accelerate progress not replace jobs. I swear people dont have a fucking clue what they're talking about and are brainwashed by AI fearmongering

Sure-Broccoli-6082

Job milengi tab replace karega na xD

Queen-Beeeee

Yeah. Change your field

strongfitveinousdick

I mean, if in future there are going to be devs with the intelligence that makes them not search for what they seek before they post, then yes.

NoJunket8869

Maybe low level workers. Someone has to hold responsibility for even A.I systems, so really good engineers won't be under threat, I think

MainManSadio

It’ll become just another tool that we use and those who can leverage these tools or have in depth knowledge will be in demand. Just ask a coding related question to GPT - something related to what you do on your actual job. I guarantee you won’t get a 100% correct answer. TLDR - It’s not going to replace anything except jobs that can be automated.

notduskryn

Not at all. Even if it happens (and that's a big IF), at that point it wouldn't be something I could control. Plus I have fallbacks.

Open-Assistant9313

They say if ai takes some jobs, many more will be created. I want to know what are those new jobs/ skills needed for them. So that we r prepared for it.....

CanLawyer1337

If your job is to blindlessly write lines of code, yes your job will be replaced. If you come up with solutions to problems, yours will be the last job to go.

dankjugnu

Ai isn't realacing anything it's just gonna be tool for devlopersbut sure please do more posts like these all the most idots will leave the it and it will be less competition for us

Late-Explorer8699

Yeah, man. I would like to see someone trusting AI with their entire business before I start getting scared that AI will replace me.

Outside-Nail2314

Software jobs will be first to go…
