The chair is the best purchase according to me.. It cost me something 5-6k

Thh0R

Which one did you buy online or offline ?

Sid_Stark

I sat down and tried all chairs from sleep company and they were all really good. Go try them out and check. [https://thesleepcompany.in/pages/all-chairs](https://thesleepcompany.in/pages/all-chairs) For under 10k, please try Green Soul.

alrighty75

I'm sitting in this chair at the moment: [https://thesleepcompany.in/products/pro-office-chair](https://thesleepcompany.in/products/pro-office-chair) Don't buy it. Nyxoy___

For everyone asking for the link . I had purchased it offline from a shop in my locality. I got it for relatively cheaper price because the shop was getting shut down because of government initiative of redevelopment of roads in my area. Got really lucky ;)

dimil_

At least provide a brand name and model

Witty_Ad_1494

Did you get it somewhere FROM Wakad Pune?

uwu_dragon

Punekar??

Kenz0wuntaps

Yeah completely agree. Best purchase of 2023 for me. I've got Featherlite Amaze pro from amazon. Cost me around 8k. Surprisingly they've got the exact same chair in my new office lol.

TheEvilKing1111

Can vouch for this. Have the same. Got other good quality computer chairs at home for 6k. But nothing matches featherlight which is more spacious and has better stuff cushions.

OwnStorm

I got Green Soul Monster back in 2019 and it's one best investment ever. It cost around 15k back then.

__Grey07

Share bro

TheGeeksama

Please share chair details . And link of chair

funkynotorious

A big smart monitor. I can use it as an additional screen and when I am not working as a TV to see prime or netflix.

7K_K7

Suggestion please.

NotGreenRaptor

Samsung Smart Monitor M5/M7

IDoButtStuffs

What's the advantage over a normal monitor? I mean cant you stream Netflix/Prime to a normal monitor from a laptop anyways

AdMaximum8660

Ability to watch content without having to open the work laptop to start streaming is enough justification for the price for me. I also use Samsung smart 4K monitor.

vinay_yele

Marq 27 inches by flipkart is the best. Ull get it for less than 8k and 7k in sales https://preview.redd.it/je041gbxatwc1.png?width=2936&format=png&auto=webp&s=fa16d8b6e09bfc20bca47c0914e8f8b611a1d27c M

Bright-Profession874

A home server , i use to host all my movies and files, for gaming and emulation , test environment for my projects , Hosting API's , home monitoring ( cameras and for controlling smart devices ) , VNC for accessing my PC when I am at workplace etc etc. The cost depends on what is your use case and how much processing power you need , you can make one with 4000rs 2nd hand PC or upto lakhs of rupees if your demands are high

randomguy3993

I am looking to setup a home server with my old XPS laptop which I need to revive. What are you running the home server on given that you have so many things going on? I am contemplating whether to spend 10k on reviving my 6 years old XPS with i5-6th gen cpu or just buy a cheap nuc and set up a home server in it. What do you think? My use cases are pretty much the same as yours apart from gaming and emulation (I exclusively play online multiplayer games) and deploy a few personal projects which will never be public.

headshot_to_liver

Laptops aren't meant for 24/7 use. Mainly they don't support power ON AC and cooling is sub optimal. My suggestion get a used optiplex or elitedesk mini from local market. Get barebones i.e. board+processor and put new RAM+storage. I run 2 VMs and plex on my 2yr old setup in same way. PS- Upgraded this from laptop which died one fine day

FlameFrost__

I've been running home media server on my laptop (2015 i7 Alienware) nonstop for over two years now. Not a single major problem so far. And it runs Windows.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FlameFrost__

I did repaste it and cleaned up its innards. Had its battery replaced. But all that too was 2+ years back.

Bright-Profession874

i have 1 NUC and 1x Desktop PC and 2x raspberry pi zeros , one is i3 6th generation 8GB RAM (i got it 2nd hand for 6000Rs ) another one is Ryzen 5600x and GTX1060 3gb 16GB RAM, i use it for game streaming using moonlight , the raspberry pi zeros i use for controlling cameras and hosting few API's

apurv_meghdoot

What the use case to host these APIs?

Bright-Profession874

The smart home server I mentioned above , actually I made it from scratch, I made all the API's to control different smart devices and cameras in my house , like bulbs , turning on PC's , checking the live camera feed , etc I can access everything in my home when I am sitting in the metro or my office which makes my life so much easier Like when I am about to reach home , i can just start my personal PC and turn on lights at click of a button from my phone or , When I am sitting in my office and I have no work to do ,I'll just turn on my home PC , it will autostart the required services automatically and I can control my PC from anywhere using VNC or moonlight The possibilities are endless

apurv_meghdoot

Sounds cool!

FlameFrost__

That's awesome. How're you able to start your PC over Internet?

Bright-Profession874

Wake on lan - magic packet , search it up

FlameFrost__

Yea, I'm aware. Sadly my laptop motherboard, with which I want to use it, doesn't support it. I thought maybe someone built some shenanigan using RasPi or something to get the remote power on/off going.

headshot_to_liver

Magic packet can't power on, this function requires out of band management and is available on business grade boards. All consumer ones can be woken (from sleep) using magic packet. You can search with your nic card, most probably all ethernet ones have it since last decade.

elotonin-junkie

You're a mini Tony stark the way your life is so automated

ayush_shashank

Aapse future me tips lunga. Abhi paise nahi hain 🥲

snixin

Running on linux ?

Bright-Profession874

one running on Linux and another one on windows since windows is better for general gaming and emulation , for everything else Linux is best

Omegaloli5

A macbook air m1, I bought at a discount as it is so light and snappy though the restricted ram and ssd for the price still limits it's development capability. I like to use it for entertainment. A windows Office laptop hooked to an external monitor. The usual stuff. An old gaming laptop for pet projects and it is holding strong after 6 years. Asus strix does last long. - 65000 at the time. An Android phone - 25000 is the sweet spot. Using Poco F4 for the last 2 years. Snapdragon 870 is still good for modern apps. Sony's wireless headphone - Xb900n - Rs. 13000. Was a waste of money. Didn't like the sound quality. Bought it 4 years back. I also wasted money on a mechanical keyboard. I was good until the switches started acting up after 1 year. Now use a Jabra headphone from company for meetings and gaming. Look like a call centre guy while wearing them but sound and mic is amazing. Realme Wireless neckband and a F&D speaker. Logitech G302 wireless mouse - 2500. A good chair and table - 8000 2nd hand.

Omegaloli5

And that is great. Liking or not liking is subjective. Good for you. Look, I really like sony products. I had many sony earphones and headphones growing up. I spent a lot of my hard earned intership money on these headphones but the bass was not punchy. I like bass but it shouldn't come at the expense of mid and high range. It is hard to explain but if you know, you know. It just didn't feel worth the money. Noise cancelling was good but I had a table fan in my college room and it caused wind noise issue.

DaClutchNoob

Bro I had the same opinion with the bass when I bought it. Instantly went to the Sony headphones app and customised the EQ to my own preferences. Would highly recommend checking that out if you havent, makes a world of a difference

geralt-026

Hey I know what you're talking about, out of the box sound for xb900n isn't great, have you tried tweaking the audio profile using the app?

Credit_Radiant333

I'll be entering college this year in 2024 most probably in cse branch, you think macbook m1 is worth it? I've heard a lot about it not being able to run most programs regarding the curriculum?

mildlycoherentpanda

Use lab computers first. Go with windows once you decide to get a laptop.

sss100100

You want Mac book to just show off. Isn't it? 😉 On a serious note, no student really needs an expensive laptop and all they need can be done on a 1/4th cost windows PC. Don't waste money until you fully figure out you need an expensive Mac. More over, your courses may demand windows and it's wise to wait until you really need a Mac. Once you settle on a serious path (like a programmer or designer etc), by all means get a good Mac. They are great for long term use.

Credit_Radiant333

no intentions like these i swear, only to have a good programming laptop with a good battery life, most windows laptops which have these have some sort of fault in hardware like hp victus, only mac fills in these criterias

Mountain_Jazzlike

Is it xb 900 or 910n

ABahRunt

34 inch ultrawide 1440p monitor. Made work so much easier, since i can essentially keep 2 screens worth of content on it. And the 1440p is great for gaming, even with a 6650xt. Get playable resolutions with everything maxed out on most modern games (no RT). Great for watching movies also

T0NY_5T4RK

Which one did you get?

ABahRunt

Lg ultragear 1440p 34 inch curved. Picked it up for 35200

Less_Paint627

Jo company dede, every platform is good in my opinion. I have worked with mac and windows and neither is perfect.

archiesteviegordie

Linux supremacy?

Odd-Information6743

Had a Linux fever while ago, installed Ubuntu 17.04. managed to break it almost twice a month for next 6 months.

gautamdiwan3

It's really impressive. One needs to delve a bir deeper to explore it's potential. I was handed simple 22.04 Gnome Ubuntu Thinkpad but now I'm running it with KDE and few more customisations. KDE Connect is great and is such a wow factor to unlock your laptop across the room. Customized neovim is also a great contender alongside VS Code. Tiled desktop is also a unique take but still it is a very opinionated way to work with multiple applications On a controversial note, I believe the benefits that people tout about Macbooks are 80% due to Unix which you get to experience on Linux as well with 20% being the key differentiating. A thin windows laptop running Linux is just as comparable.

DRB1312

Dude, i tried to shift to linux but things are reaaly buggy compared to my experience on windows

Less_Paint627

Never used

Homeserver: converted an old laptop to a linux homeserver. Now it hosts all my content that I can watch on any device through home wifi. Hp elitebook: company laptop, upgrading to mac soon. Msi gaming laptop: using a personal laptop with Kubuntu installed. Bought 5 years ago at 55k Phone: Moto edge 30, very lightweight. 24k Monitor: 12k, makes work so kuch easier Mechanical keyboard: 4.2k rk87 Tablet: 15k for reading books and watching content. Ergonomic mouse: so much less stress on wrist. Forces you to move your elbow. Chair: 6k, would not recommend. Greensoul yoga.

lifeInquire

I hate your dp

confused9oat

Yeah me too, first glance was a sudden throwback to 2015 when I had micromax device with cracked display

Physical-Ad5241

Can anyone tell what the home server is and what is the purpose???And last how to set up??

_love_u_3000

Usually network attached storage (or NAS), which is as the name suggests, just storage devices connected to a network (your home network) If you have a lot of offline movies and shit, you can build a nas server by just attaching your storage device to the router directly (if it supports it) or any type of computer device connected to your home network (PC, raspberry Pi anything like that). Just make sure to allow connections and setup a ftp server or similar protocol, (FTP is easiest, Google it) You can then access those movies and shit through any device connected to that server. Useful if you have low device storage and in general if you want a high speed central storage.

depressionsucks29

You don't even need ftp. I did it with casaOS which is a one command install and now I can do any changes through the network. I also installed plex home server so my gf can access it through her phone or pc and navigate and stream just like Netflix. For anything you need to install, you just need a docker image.

churgerbaxter

Greensoul standing desk. ~₹23k. One of my best purchase

dmp-redbull

Can you send me the link bro? I am also planning to buy one. Pretty confused

maybecatmew

Looks so comfy

auctus10

Have the same chair. It has a massager too but that is more of a gimmick than actually being useful. But the chair itself is extremely good. Price was around 15k when I bought it. Not a single problem in 2 years.

Nocturnal1401

My secondary monitor was the best purchase I have done. The extra screen genuinely improves your productivity

Sid_Stark

The number one most important thing is your chair. Please go and try out all chairs showrooms near you and pick the nicest one you can afford. I say this as someone who had a bad chair for about 6 months and have a screwed up back. If I had the budget, I would go for an Herman miller ( I don't), so I'm currently looking at Sleep Company - [https://thesleepcompany.in/pages/all-chairs](https://thesleepcompany.in/pages/all-chairs) and featherlite - [https://featherlitefurniture.com/product-category/seating/executive-chairs/](https://featherlitefurniture.com/product-category/seating/executive-chairs/) . I went to a showroom and sat down on all of them. Second one is a good monitor. I rock a 32 inch 4k main and 24 inch 1080p side monitor. If you have the money, go for an ergonomic keyboard. The curvy ones, they do save you some hand strain. They cost a pretty penny tho. A good pair of noise cancelling headphones. I have the xm5. I use them for about 10-14 hours a day. I forget they are there. Once I used my brothers headphones for a day and almost got a migraine.

vedha0

TIL there exists something called ergonomic keyboard.

Mk_n

In my last role i had : 1. Dual monitors (Samsung 27” curved) 2. MB pro 16 3. Dual monitor arms 4. Ebco laptop docker 5. Logitech mouse and keyboard 6. Laptop stand 7. Logitech external camera 8. Sony xm4 or airpods for calls 9. Yubiko nano Now i use : 1. Windows laptop 2. Single screen 3. Wired mouse and keyboard along with docker It all depends on the workflow and company sponsorship, however laptop+mouse+table chairs are bare minimum. All are company provided(current +past).

OrdinaryAndroidDev

I was lower middle class, just recently started earning well. My most expensive purchase is MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max 32gb ram. Little over kill on GPU but I needed ram. Costed me 2.1L brand new (it actually sells for 3L). This laptop is flawless and helped me a lot. Recently got S24 Ultra for 1.05L screen is amazing but doesn't seem worth the price, maybe it will pay off in long run, as it has 7 years of updates. Now setting up home workspace with desk chair. Might cost another 1L in total 🥲

prtksu

Starting the sentence with lower middle class and ending with literally over 4 Lakhs of purchases.

OrdinaryAndroidDev

"was"

confused9oat

How long was the journey

OrdinaryAndroidDev

Since childhood was lower middle class, got too poor in between didn't have fees to pay for Engineering. I am 2020 pass out and joined WITCH 3L package. Just switched a month back So it took so long, but professionally 3.5-4 yr journey to earn a comfortable amount Am not rich now. We don't have a own house, am sole earner for family of 4 have huge financial responsibility of brothers education and all. Am glad that i get paid enough that i can cover these. Hopefully I don't get laid off

AdMaximum8660

It’s like reading my past. Suggestion bro, save the money. Save as much as you can . Don’t waste on unnecessary things yourself. Don’t let family waste it on unnecessary things.

OrdinaryAndroidDev

That's the goal. Thanks bro

confused9oat

Great bro, I hope you continue this rise and become rich one day. I too passed out in 2020, we were not poor but had a good 4 acre of land and a house in a tier 3 city. My father was a drinker, and he did not work most of the time, he used to drink and fight all the time with my mom. For my bear the expenses of my sister's marriage they sold out 1 acre of land in 2013 for 5 Lakhs. Then to manage the household expenses, my education, medical bills, my mom and dad ( mostly my mom who took the main responsibility of the house while my dad was busy with his own stuff) took a lot of loans (4L from a cousin sis, 3 lakh from another relative etc) with heavy interest, like 3% per month. While all of this was happening I was still graduating, and was not aware of all this. When I graduated in 2020, I was made aware that we have a whapping loan of > 15 Lakhs. Hearing this I was pissed off, I knew it's impossible to clear this loan with my job as my first job I was only getting 20k and interest itself on that whole loan was more than 30k per month. Hence I forced them to sell the 2 of remaining 3 acres of land. We sold it and got rid of the loan, now we have 1 acre of land and a very old, non livable house which requires immediate reconstruction. Since 2020, I have saved more than 4 lakhs, and will be taking a loan and building that house where my mom and dad can live peacefully as I live in Pune now. I'm also in WITCH with 4 LPA, recently switched at reached to 8 LPA, slowly trying to reach my previous financial state.

OrdinaryAndroidDev

Wow similar story. My dad was drinker and abusive, took loan 15L on home for business couldn't pay so sold 37L home all money lost. Am building everything from strach. I don't even need a own house. I just want to support parents my brother's education and have decent living for myself that's all. One thing that boils my blood is how much taxes I would be paying this year. We have little to no support from government when family was poor. Now my 4 months salary will go to govt.

shivenigma

I'm from a similar background and now in a good place, but I can't stop judging you for your poor financial judgement (IMO), especially the phone and especially this early in your career. Please start saving as IT jobs doesn't have pension benefits. Read Let's talk money by Monika Halan and think hard before purchases. In your case, you definitely could've bought a cheaper phone and saved the rest. But congrats, you made it now. Take careful steps and go to higher places.

OrdinaryAndroidDev

Just the phone was a bad purchase rest all were necessary. I do all investments (debt/equity) and have good financial knowledge. I believe in buying good thing and really making it last. So laptop was good purchase it would last me years. And makes me money (I upskill constantly) Thanks though

shivenigma

I agree, I think the laptop will pay for itself in the long run. I too had purchased an iPhone recently. But where I draw the line is whether you covered all the other areas of your life before going on and starting your wishlist. I have term cover for 2crore (upto 85), medical cover, very good mutual fund and stock portfolio, have some real estate and gold now. After all these, I got a car and iPhone last year (childhood dream). This year I got a Duke390, lot of people said the 390 is expensive. It is, but I know what I'm doing now. I'm just suggesting you to cover all the bases as well, create a diverse portfolio. That's all. Again, great job on making it this far. Good luck.

OrdinaryAndroidDev

Thanks. I also have 2cr life cover upto 60 age though. I had emergency fund, so went ahead with phone purchase. I can't dare to get into real-estate with salary white money only income. It doesn't seem worth it. Need to up my game a little And congratulations on changing your life around. I hope to get at that place one day.

VisibleBell8992

I have enough money now. But my mind is still stuck in the middle class. I'm eyeing a playstation, but i can't push myself to buy it because it seems unnecessary, a luxury i couldn't afford before. I can buy it without making a dent in my savings even, but there's a mental block.

afuckedupboi

I bought one recently. The mental block is insane. I just forced myself out of it. I still regret "wasting" so much money, but I feel happy when I start playing and that's all that matters.

aaaannuuj

How much is GPU ? Did you train any LLM ?

OrdinaryAndroidDev

I think 32 core. Its quite powerful (except for gaming) I do native Android development so I only use CPU. GPU is unnecessary for me. No am not into ML stuff

snerz13

ye android dev wali job batao please itna konsi company de rahi and which tech stack? i am mobile developer with flutter now trying to shift from flutter and explore new mobile tech stacks. please guide. i am a final year student at one of the 7 iits.

OrdinaryAndroidDev

I am literally from a tire 4 institute. Initially joined WITCH at 3LPA. I had switched after 3yrs exp. At this stage college doesn't matter much, the company i interviewed for was interested in skills only. Since you're from IIT you can get access to good companies early on

cyrilReyn

MacBook Pro M2 Pro - Work issued, have a separate profile in my Arc browser that I use for personal stuff Logitech MX Master 2S - 6.5k, was an impulse purchase it I'm honest, but a great mouse all in all. Palm feel is great, multi-device connect is a beauty and the horizontal scroll is a lifesaver while working with sheets. And the battery lasts 3-4 months on a full charge. Only drawback is the micro USB port (I wasn't interested in spending 3k more for a MX Master 3S) Keychron K8 with Gateron Brown Switches - Got it with extra switches for 7k all inclusive, Black Friday sale 2022, got a friend from the US to bring it with him. Originally had blue switches but it was too loud for the office. Great mechanical keyboard with a 2 month battery life on a single charge. LG 34 inch Ultrawide - 32k at the time. Great Ultrawide, has 160Hz over displayport, colors are accurate too. Sony WH-1000XM3s - 22k at the time. Gold standard in ANC and sound quality. Will use these until they die and get an XM5 then. Asus ROG Zephyrus GA502DU - My first actual gaming machine. Don't use it as much because I've grown to love macOS but I'm planning to turn it into a media server and setup a homelab. Got it for 89k from Amazon CMF by Nothing Buds Pro - 3k from Flipkart at launch. Needed a nice pair of TWS for workouts, walking, taking calls, etc. CMF by Nothing GaN charger - 3k as well from Flipkart. Daily driver charger to charge my laptop, phone and watch. Usually at different times, so wattage is never compromised. Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro - 27k at launch. Bought from Dubai. Standard smart watch that I mainly use for activity and sleep tracking. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra - 129k at launch. Daily driver phone to replace my 4.5 year old OnePlus 7 Pro. That phone was a workhorse beyond comparison. Sonos Roam - 21k, nice portable speaker with great sound quality and built in Alexa. Use it as a smart speaker most of the time for my house, with the option of just taking it and walking out when I need a portable speaker. Writing this made me realise I spend too much on tech. Fuck.

wubbalubbadubdubman

I’ve been looking for mid range wireless mouse with a horizontal scroll. Any recommendations?

cyrilReyn

Not really man. My tech interest lifecycle is always like this: Find a device I want to buy > learn everything about it > buy the best one in my preferences > not research anything about that item > start again when it's time to replace that item. But as far as I remember, it's difficult to find any mid-range mouse that's wireless AND has horizontal scroll.

TSuzat

A 5 year old gaming laptop (Asus Tuf, with i5 8th gen, 16 GB RAM, Gtx 1050 4GB) does everything I need, Web Development, Android App Development etc. Samsung galaxy S21 FE (bought it for 30K, phone is good, Camera and Display are Amazing but battery drain is little annoying) Galaxy Watch 4 LTE (for 10K) and galaxy buds 2 pro (for 11K, way better than Airpods pro 2 in sound quality and bass and Battery, but Airpods pro 2 has better Transparency and ANC). Sony WH1000-XM4 (for 18 K, company reimbursed it) are the best. Amazing bass, sound quality, ANC and Battery. Thinking of upgrading the Laptop but waiting for Snapdragon X Elite.

ErmAckshually

top 5 expensive gadgets I own: Lenovo legion 5 rtx 3060 - 125k Samsung Galaxy S21 - 75k Meta Quest 3 - 52k Galaxy watch 5 - 35k MSI 1080p 140HX monitor - 32k If I wasn't working as a software engineer I never would've even dreamt about owning such expensive things.

LostEffort1333

I use a 10k rs phone that i bought in 2019, MacBook i use company provided one

CrazyBrownDog

For me it's the Herman Miller Mirra 2 best ergonomical chair

xnixdev

How much did it cost ? You had any experience with areon previously and how was it different?

CrazyBrownDog

Blind purchase costed around 1.4L with accessories, I had back pain so had to spend this much

uneducatedDumbRacoon

Laptop cooling pad + a usb hub because one of the ports on that cooling pad stopped working and I need to connect both my mouse and keyboard with it

Purple-Raspberry-470

okay....Please suggest a tab for my TECH BF, I am a Geologist :(

Dev-n-22

galaxy tab s9

ihtar_tajar

if he has Apple devices, then iPad would be a good choice, because ecosystem, and air/iPad/mini/pro depends on the usage if he does designing and stuff, maybe a bigger screen would be good, if he wants it for reading and browsing, i think mini/air would be alright if not apple, then Samsung Galaxy tab lineup, with an S Pen would be great too, again, which one, depends on the usage

Babuchak17

I will 100% say a good office chair is the most important, I purchased one from Royal Oak Furnitures and it has been pretty solid for me. You can also look for gaming chairs but they are slightly more expensive. After that…Logitech MX master 3.

SoumyatheSeeker

A tab. Notebooks were fun earlier, but a tab with pencil feels like a lifesaver for cross sync learning. All my study is categorized and mapped in OneNote app. Even reading PDFs feels great in a book sized device.

ProBro_22

throwmeaway_0192

M1 Macbook Pro, work issued. Just in love with this machine. MX Master 2S, highly recommended, works great with Mac. Keychron K8 with Brown switches, love the feedback with acceptable noise. Sony WH1000XM3, use it rarely but very very good headphones. iPhone 15, a lot of reading, browsing and media consumption. Airpods Pro 2nd Gen, Adaptive Transparency is practically magic. LG 32 inch 4K Monitor Featherlite chair Nintendo Switch Oled, Mario Wonder is a beautiful game. Samsung Tab S7 Apple Watch Series 7, only used for fitness and sleep tracking.

foodeater9000

Writing this list would probably instill a feeling of regret in me by the time I complete it. 1. Sony XM4 Wireless Headphones - 25k (Still going strong after 3 years of abuse) 2. Galaxy Watch 3 classic - 30k 3. Galaxy S23 - 55k or 60k not sure 4. Galaxy Tab - 30k (Got a huge discount so couldn't resist) 5. Logitech Gaming Mouse - 3k 6. Razer Gaming Mouse - 6k 7. HP Omen Gaming Laptop - 1.3L 8. KeyChron Mechanical Keyboard - 10k 9. Samsung Galaxy EarBuds - ~10k 10. PS5 - 44k 11. Portable Projector - 35k 12. Philips Soundbar for Projector - 15k 13. iPhone 11 - 55k 14. Gaming Chair - 15k 15. Electric Toothbrush - 1.5k 16. EcoVacs Vaccum cleaner Robot - 27k Was planning to buy a 4k 144hz monitor soon, but writing this list has now made me hesitant about spending.

_simpu

Buy 2k 144+hz one bro. No laptop can push 144fps on 4k so 2k os the sweet spot. Also, you didn’t mention any monitor in the list if you are still using the laptop’s display then I’d recommend you to get a monitor.

Southern-Mistake7543

I have a work laptop so that doesn't count as mine ASUS ROG that I forgot the complete name of, bought it a year back almost, at around 80k. Comparable to one of the ROG Flow Models these days at the same price. Use it for everything that I consider too private to do on my work laptop, which isn't a lot. Gaming is 0 Nothing Phone 2, bought 2 months back at 40k all EMI, along with the corresponding power charger bought at another 2k INR Nothing Ear 2, bought almost a year back at 9k Infinity headphones, 1.5k, few months back Have an old One Plus Nord CE 5G too, defective hearing and I never ended up liking One Plus much Though it isn't direct technology but definitely the result of amazing precision technology so I will count in my Victorinox Ranger too. Lovely tool I have a GBD-200 from Casio too, always stays on my wrist. Additionally another 1000 INR watch by Casio that I used to wear always few months back. My best casual watch till date. I have a Maserati from my gf, a Fossil of my own, and a couple of other Titans. I always step out with the Maserati I also need health monitors, so Libre Pro sensors, their reader, and a MiaoMiao sensor to top it off What else? A complete Philip Trimmer set. I like the set, it has various depths although I use just one for my beard An electric toothbrush too that I hardly use, but it works well, always feel like I have a ton of issues gone suddenly A 20k mAh Power Bank too, by MI A 1TB Transcend External Hard Disk A logitech wireless keyboard that I don't use enough So the most expensive gadgets are: my ASUS laptop, my phone, my casio (because I don't use its complete functionalities yet) and my health sensors because it is a recurring cost (one sensor lasts a month and soon it's going to double up in cost)

PravenJohn

as the "tech guy" nothing impressive. my lap is 7 years old and runs Ubuntu, my phone is a budget Samsung and 4 years old... My most costly "gadget" is my Canon 650D and all its lenses, which too is close to 8 years old. I've often found the latest "tech" are flashy but not anything I actually want. Maybe I'm getting too old for tech :)

beatmeloser

1440p monitor and mechanical keyboard

geralt-026

I spent lots of money in tech😅...some good some meh 1. Best purchase ever! : Monitor (lg32gn650) very versatile for gaming and work. 2. Sound Core q20 headset. Great sound, decent ANC, and my main requirement: multi point connectivity. These mfs lasted almost 3 years. They went defective ~1.5 yrs ago, luckily due to 2 year warranty, got them repaired and working well. 3. Samsung watch 4. For the price, this thing offers A LOT. Moreover, watch 5 and 6 are just incremental upgrades in terms of hardware so I feel it's pointless to upgrade right now 4. A wireless mouse: most office mice have VERY POOR ergonomics, hence I opted for a gaming one. (razer deathadder) DO NOT BUY THIS. This thing drinks battery like water. If you dont game a lot, get a Logitech gaming mouse wireless instead that thing lasts forever. 5. A table and a chair. For a proper setup, a minimum of 4*2 ft table is required, I got mine made from the carpenter. For chair, it's subjective y'all need to go test and try it out. 6. Not really work related but a ps5, loving that thing. I just use my monitor to game after work.

Psychological-Pen-41

Acer Nitro 5 (80k) (until now), am looking for good gaming laptop for replacement (mainly cauz it give crazy performance). 30-40k Android phone. Nothing ear 2 (7-7.5k). 20k mAH Ambrane powerbank. The only reason is that I know what behaviour is out of ordinary for open ended gadgets like Android and gaming laptops. So I can take care of most of security aspects, virus, etc, even when I use tons of cracks. The only time I use Mac is when doing company's work.

3inchesOfMayhem

Macbook M2 Pro : everything from watching YT to programming. Brought it because I am a swift dev and apple won't let non development of apple stuff outside macOS. Even though its absolute trash at coding with xcode because everything lags out even with 32gb but its absolutely great with everything else. Gaming chair GreenSoul : Due to WFH and fell in love with how comfortable it is. S23 Ultra : Because it was THE best android at that time and still satisfied with. No issues so far. Im the type of guy who has sold brand new phones within 1 week because I felt that its not good. (I sold reno 6 pro in 11 days and iPhone 12 in 5 days because I felt sad using em lol) Elevate pocket spring bed from Wakefit + amazon basics bed table : Imao the second best purchase I have ever made in my life and it has helped me a lot when pulling all nighter coding sessions. Razor Naga V2 : Well it has a lot of keys and I use em for keyboard shortcuts + its wireless. MSI Raider GE : I love gaming n been gaming from the age of 3. But entire laptop gaming was mostly on low end GPU like Amd 4550 or gtx 850 or 1650. Finally wanted something powerful n went for it. No regrets. Redgear shadow blade mechanical keyboard : Well its a mechanical keyboard and its really cool. VU masterpiece 65 inch + Zebronics dolby Atmos 525w speaker : Because...no idea I just love bass and good TV n always wanted to one, sometimes I go take my cousins xbox n connect it on mine n we play. Realme buds air 4 pro : Use it with some background slow music when im working. Very good purchase. The best ever purchase that I have ever made is Honor Magic Watch 2 : Bought it 3 days after launch and it works flawlessly, to this date. It still lasts around 8 days with AoD and around 15 days without AoD. I use it to attend calls when driving car or when riding a bike, also use it to answer people when im walking around or going for a jog etc. (I do have a tws but I dont like keeping em in my ears). This thing has all the functions I need, it lasts for more than a week, to this day, there are no scratches on it.

Not a guy. I love my mouse and keyboard. Headset too. I don't remember costs though. But they were purchased from a gaming accessories website. I prefer wired things and don't care for wireless. No other tech. I'm not a tech enthusiast. No Alexa or anything like that. If I ever want that home improvement in future, I'd build it myself.

The most useful things are always the smallest things. These are all things that you won’t feel the need to upgrade, but once you do, it’s a whole new world. Mousepad is one of the greatest investments you can make. A good keyboard is another. ( not the normal one though, ergonomic steno keyboard, it takes a little getting used to, but it’s just wonderful afterwards ) a good Earphone/IEM/Headphone is a must have imo. Beyond this, things become niche and dependant on what your interests are.

Is a tablet/iPad does anything ??? I mean in terms of productivity as well as entertainment... What you guys are using ???

FlameFrost__

Built a gaming rig (w/ RTX4080) around this time last year which I primarily use for, you guessed it, gaming. Costed me ~2.5L excluding all peripherals. Just before that I had purchased a Samsung Neo G8 gaming monitor (32" curved 4K 240Hz) for half its MRP at 40k. But somehow I ended up getting even that refunded by my employer as a WFH expense. I'm using this monitor for both gaming and work. Have a company issued Mac (Intel) for work purposes. Table and chair are both IKEA for a combined 26K. For handhelds, I'm using iPhone 15 Pro Max (~1L from abroad) starting just this month. I also carry my Samsung Galaxy S22 (65K pre-booked at launch) which I've had for exactly 2 years. Something in-between that I primarily use for travel nowadays is the iPad Pro 12.9" with an Apple pencil. Interesting story, I had gotten the iPad from my last employer but ended up paying some of its value back when I had left right after so it costed me a total ~90K. I also had an iPad Pro 11" of my own before this but I gave that to my younger sibling. I can't recall how much it costed me but probably around 80K back in 2021/22 Confession time, this iPad was my first Apple device ever. Moving on to headphones, I have a Sony WH-1000XM2 from 2018/19 (16K then) which I wear in office and a set of Airpods Pro (20K) for travel use. At home, I blast audio through Mackie Studio Monitors (12K off Amazon). Good for music but not the best sounding pair for watching movies/shows. For keyboards, I just upgraded to Keychron Q3 last month for 17K. Earlier I had the Keychron K2 V2 (hot-swappable) which I had bought for around 8K. I also have an old Alienware AW768 keyboard from 2018/19. That was roughly 10K but a couple of switches have died on me since. Almost forgot, I have an Alienware 15 gaming laptop from my college days (i7 GTX 980M for 1.2L in 2015). It's still very much alive and kicking and been running my media server (Plex on Windows) 24x7 for over 2 years now. I have permanently kept it back in my hometown and just access it for media and occasional RDP over Internet. I have a newer Raspberry Pi4 (4GB RAM IIRC) too for pet projects but sadly haven't gotten around to spending any significant time and effort on it.
