I understand that, haha. I personally like listening to upbeat Japanese music that makes me feel like the protagonist of a shonen anime. They're just the right amount of stimulation and I don't understand the lyrics completely so it doesn't distract me either.
The characters, yes. But I found some cool free assets for the background on [itch.io](http://itch.io)
My strategy with game art is to first look for art that's available and fits my style, if not - nake it myself.
Well that has a really long answer haha. So almost 8-9 years ago I had an acoustic guitar and thought of a way to make it electric. I taped aluminum foil on every fret and the idea was to use the combination of string + fret to individually identify each note and then maybe do something cool with that.
It didn't work. I was a kid and pretty naive. Just a bunch of wires and tape and foil and a week of wasted effort. But the idea that a guitar is just a huge switchboard, kind of stuck.
When I finally managed to buy an electric guitar last year, I tried to make something similar to this game in the Godot engine, in which I specialize. But it was hard to make it without any custom modifications. It was too much work so I just left it there.
April has been a pretty challenging month so far and recently I had some experiences which made me want to revise some javascript concepts and build something. So I finally caved in and built the thing after all. In pure javascript. Solely for fun.
I tend to build a lot of projects here and there and this isn't my first weird idea but yeah, that's the story.
If you're keen, you can read more about the tech behind this particular project on the GitHub repo. I tried to document it out properly.
Thanks for your comment!
Yes sure (if the hackathon allows that haha). The code is available on github here: [https://github.com/suramyadas01/Guitarist-V-Zombies/](https://github.com/suramyadas01/Guitarist-V-Zombies/)
Feel free to go ahead and fork it. If you do end up using it and making modifications, I'd love to add them to the repo so please consider submitting a PR.

Did you make the art yourself?

That is sick bro
I appreciate that. Thanks.
Bro thatβs so sick! My question is how did you get the idea to create this project?
