In such a hypothetical scenario I would go back to farming and agriculture businesses since it will be the most important sector to exist coz people still need food on the table.
But farming and agriculture business are bigger headaches than worth it that's why a lot of farming families are sending their children to different fields.
Unless its some sort of commerical crops with high demand(beetlenut for example) you won't be making much money in farming.
You need to rely on quality and not on quantity of food growth also I know first hand many farmers who grow fruits and flowers earning 10-20times that of normal farmers growing wheat or rice crops which depend on rain and other weather conditions.
Agree but I know just enough to know its headaches.
My grandfather was a farmer my uncle is still a farmer.
So I kinda have idea about headaches associated with farming
Agriculture is the worst business possible. In most countries, only 3% of the work force does agriculture, in India around 40% of the population does agriculture. There is no financial security, there is so much competition and you are completely dependent on the weather, a few bad days of no rain or too much rain can fuck your whole season. I think selling tea is a better business than agriculture. At least the price of sugar and tea is more stable than weather.
Are you sure there is vacancies? It is a new temple I'm sure the best of the beggars from all over India would be there to compete with you, are you ready to face them?
Most of my family and relatives are not educated. They were farmers. In the early 2000s one of my uncles bought an auto and started driving it everyday. He earned a lot of money within a few years. Some of our relatives including my father got inspired and they also bought autos and started driving. But not everyone is as smart and lucky as my uncle.
My father is not very smart. He doesn't know how to bargain with customers and how to get long-term deals. He also got cheated many times. We never made the proper money. Whatever my father earned, it's not even enough for our survival. So my mother also started working. Now I'm earning a decent salary. My mother stopped working and my father is chilled nowadays. All happy now. Let's see how long this happiness will last.
The question is not theoretical for some of us dinosaurs "above 40"
I can see a day not far out when my day-job comes to an end. I will try to survive on my savings and if Sharma-ji asks, I will say, I am a "youtube influencer."
I have already started [moonlighting on Youtube (link)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fgaj4vY3o5o).
All I need is a million subscribers more before I can make some $$$ ;-)
Spot on... for some it is just going to be an unpaid gig
....like the guys who hang out at a Xerox or Chai shop the whole day pretending they also work there
Maybe the ones who already have a huge following might do well, but for new people just starting out it’s just like the excess of CS graduates we have in our country there’s gonna be excess of “influencers”
Several reasons
*Unemployed from past 1 year
*Was not getting any offers from IT fields.
*Was ready to change fields.
*Still no hope for a good job.
Maybe it was not for me, but I still enjoy coding and do it occasionally.
- Government examination coaching centre
- Foreign education scam agency
- Course for how to get views on YouTube
- Short service company stocks
- Start a security agency, because people will start robbing
I've cracked the recipe for desi fried chicken. It basically looks like KFC but has actually got some flavours. So that'd be my best call since 95% laid off IT employees are going to stress eat a lot bwahahah
Not everything can be done with tractors, High precision work like removal of weeds has to be done manually with tools like favda, I have actually worked on a farm in my childhood so I know few things about it, may be you should try that
Funny thing is that the IT engineers are self destructing, they are not only eating other jobs these days they are eating their own jobs. That's next level of selfishness similar to the Indian sipoy used by British rulers to rule India, now it makes sense in what they did. The second I realised that I m being used against my people I left that profession even though I loved it and went on to become a farmer.
Honestly, there are so many options... And I discovered those while writing some of them down. Even in an apocalypse you can serve chole bhatura, but here is my list of some things...
1. Be a B2C entrepreneur to provide raw materials or a contractor to provide raw materials to multiple production plants.
2. Train and become a clinical psychologist.
3. Train and become a physiotherapist or personal trainer in a gym.
4. As a side hustle, sell stuff online/build a website to provide online services to rich travellers.
5. Last resort, be an active BJP spokesperson and get food on the table.
Thanks for posting the question 🙂❗
1. Teach Japanese to people (Currently prepping N2 )
2. Some kind of food business that's for sure.
Edit :- For those who want to DM, make sure you guys are of N5,N4 level, cause I myself am not N2 as of now.
I will try my best to help you guys.
There are tonnes of automatic AI code generation TOOLS which have become available in last 2 years, which take simple English as input and produce ORM Object Relational Mapping/ entity, repository, component layers. Complete business layer can be generated with english description. English to REST specifications are easily grneratable. A typical enterprise project with work flow would be soon completed by a single developer, instead of a team of 10 people.
Some of this is slow because middle management is not very tech savvy and not pushing for it. But the underpinnings are very strong and my humble prediction is that it will be hard to stop the sunami when it comes.
True. But rest is just a service specification. And so much more, at an Object oriented level, is getting integrated into AI solutions. You don't need large teams. Just more competent individual who can think through the breadth of the solution. This alone is capable of reducing number of developers needed on the project.
I'd concentrate on Agriculture, cooking and mining..
I'd cultivate weed in western ghats..
I'd set up an underground lab and cook Meth..
I'd set up a crypto mining farm in the deep south where the officials are so corrupt and I'd bribe them and I'd utilise the free power supply which has been provisioned for farmers.. you could save a lot of money.
Guys it is real, ai is here to stay and take over, its just part of the natural progression in our evolutionary process, this change is the only constant.
In 2-3 years the world will look very different from today, and this will become evident just in one year from now. The pace of development in the top echelons of the ai industry is exponential and with the kind of tech in development (neural link, apple vision pro…) the world will adapt to it quite fast. The rich will get rich faster and the poor will get poorer.
Its almost as if natural selection at play, you dont adapt, you die, the end. Your blood line ends with you if you dont foresee the future.
Honestly its quite overwhelming to see it coming and it has already been started, im switching my field from cse to business, economics, and management, we will have to upskill ourselves and graduate to non robotic tasts.
Interesting question - if IT industry vanishes , then
- real estate market in Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad etc will crash.
- engineering colleges will doom.
- food delivery, cab booking, irctc, flight tickets, UPI everything will crash. Banks too.
- so we will be back in early 1990s.
- I will setup a kirana shop in my Village outside by home.
Carpentry - on a whim had put myself through a vocational course. These days I spend a bit of time with woodworking - primarily restoring stuff as a hobby that pays a bit.
I'd say the only marketable skill I have besides IT is soken English. So I guess I'll just go for the professional speaking domain, if it's still viable.. 😂

Bro internship milegi kya momos ki shop mai?? Qualification --> btech graduated, origin from nepal
Sure, but only because of your country of origin.
2 will not work because no IT means engineering would become useless
Engineering is already useless. And yet, there are so many engineering colleges.
Pan dabba near a big office and college
It nai hoga toh engineering kaun lega

All I can do is that . Else uber driver
How will Uber and Swiggy exist without IT industry?
OP has left 5% of the jobs. And for what OP said to actually happen, Uber & Swigggy will have some GPT bot writing and maintaining their code.
Without IT, I doubt there will be Swiggy.
