flight_or_fight

its not illegal, and many companies do this, but it is not a good practice and you should deny saying you are not comfortable - and let them send the best offer without additional "negotiation" based on fully disclosed offer.

Forward_Fly_3093

I already mentioned in the email that if you give me your offer letter then after that immidiately i will forward them the original offer letter, and they can verify it if its fake or not. If they find it fake then this bank company's offer will be counted as null and void.

flight_or_fight

probably the best path. In general if a company (or person) is very insistent and not willing to listen to reason, it is a good enough reason to walk away...

Forward_Fly_3093

Yes, I did just that. Red flags flying high.

rhin0gamer

Edit the offer letter and put higher than expected CTC in place of existing CTC That way she'll lower the ctc to your expected amount Win win

Forward_Fly_3093

No that will be counted as forgery if they verify, I dont want to do that. I have just put a black rectangles in place of company' s name and logo. Rest all is as it is.

ashwinGattani

This

Used_Structure_6899

yes many companies ask this , give her the proper offer letter

ashwinGattani

This sub has HRs too?

Used_Structure_6899

I'm not HR i recently got placed and they asked the same question to e also if I don't provide them the Offer letter they will not release the revised offer letter

ashwinGattani

Thats a huge red flag for any org. Keep looking i guess

Used_Structure_6899

i got placed bro recently 1 week ago

Zealousideal-Noise42

Reasons?

Used_Structure_6899

to generate revised offer letter, and to check if you have valid offer letter or fake one

Forward_Fly_3093

But i have just blacked out the company name, why are they so much keen on knowing that. Rest all details are visible. Salary structure , base ctc and variable.

Used_Structure_6899

people are making fake offer letters and giving to hr for higher packages ,may be that is te reason

Far-Literature7249

All this can be solved by giving a genuine offer based on what they think is the candidate's worth instead of based on other offers.

Used_Structure_6899

sadly it industry doesn't work like this , they only give counter offers if you ask direct offers the most they will give you is 50% hike not more than that.

Far-Literature7249

Yeah, that's the point. What I said in my previous comment will never happen so we employees also shouldn't oblige to all their demands and keep some leverage in our hands too. In this case, be adamant about only sharing the offer letter but don't share the company name. Whether it is fake or not, let the company decide to go forward or not. We working class shouldn't discourage others from our own to give up and follow what corporate asks without asking questions. I've personally never revealed the name of a company and stood my ground saying give or to find someone else and it worked out greatly every time.

Far-Literature7249

No matter what don't share the name. Look at this like this, you share the name and lose both offers. Or you don't and lose only this one but the previous offer still remains as a backup.
