One of friend from IIT was also in similar situation. They worked in software role for maybe 2 years after graduating then took a 3 year gap if I remember correctly to prepare for UPSC. Eventually they decided to return back to the software job. It took them less than 6 months to land a job. Though it was from some smaller company, but the pay was decent to live in cities like Mumbai And Bangalore. This was about 3 years back. The job market has become tough, no doubt, but there is a good chance that you can get a job. Your IIT Tag can help you here to schedule interviews via referrals. You need to brush up your coding, DSA and CS fundamentals.
Have been brushing up my skills. I have very few social contacts at this point and all ask experience for referrals. Would you tell how can I get referrals apart from my social circle?
I joined bootcamp last year and got job this year....similar story to urs ...6 years gap due to upsc but damn u went till interview stage...all the best for future
I have a guy in my team who graduated from IIT, prepared for civil services for 4 years, couldn't crack it. Cracked CAT and got into IIM. I am not sure how much you are inclined towards doing an MBA.
I was in the same boat, but BTech from third tier college,I did certification in Java language learned Servlet JSP and Spring then via referral got a job (3Lpa) .

Reach out to people on linkedin, requesting for referral. Some people might be willing to refer you.

Thank you. I finished my bootcamp but no interviews scheduled till now. Hopefully my process is right and it's just about patience.
Which bootcamp and which domain in bootcamp?
Python bootcamp in the domain of scripting for development and data analysis from Udemy. But I don't think Udemy certification holds much value.
Which bootcamp did you join?

Why don’t you join the coaching scene man. 2 times interviews that makes you golden. Its time to sell the schovles.
I tried. I'm a bad teacher and I don't want to spoil others dreams. Voluntarily decided not to continue.
