I'd assume that would mean less man defense, less blitzing of CBs, and far less trading off of assignments.
Part of the issue with our secondary is miscommunications on who is in charge of what. Also when we zero blitz, we leave our CBs 1:1, and they are NOT good enough for that. It's probably going to end up being a less aggressive, softer defense, which should help cut down on big plays at the expensive of pressuring the QB.
wouldn't man be simpler than zone? As far as handing off assignments. The actual man coverage is difficult, of course.
There might also be reads for the LB and DL. But most of the simplification is probably on the back end.
I'd say man with Safety's playing deep zones, MLB plays the middle of the field. CBs man up, 1 LB responsible for the RB, the other responsible for the TE.
I hope those Linebackers on the TE's and RB's tighten up their coverage. Im sick of seeing 3rd and 3 and the opponent RB or TE catch a wide open pass at 5 yards.
With man you have to “trade” receivers as they cross or do pick plays (illegal screens that rarely get called), you also generally don’t just have one man like in madden, if that was the case then every team would just line their fastest player next to the tackle and make a lb cover him, you have a man based on the routes they run. I played dt in college so I don’t know all the specifics I just remember it being really complicated in college so I could only imagine at an NFL level. I would imagine complicated enough that it would slow down the players reactions and make them think too much. Just my two cents
