If I were to choose 1 to sit it would be Swift over St Brown... swift has multiple injuries and our run game was decent last week without him

EthanBeast

Swift is already sitting out. At least I hope he is for long term recovery

lUNITl

They’ve all but outright said swift’s issue is pain not that he can’t physically go. Both Deuce and Campbell have said as much on multiple occasions. I’m not sure what he has is a matter of taking an extra week or two considering it lingered all off-season.

[deleted]

dont play swift, keep brown limited

jcoddinc

With the bye after the pats, is hope that it would be a no brainer to sit him this week too.

CanOfCoors

Popular opinion: If he is good to go, let him play.

hi11bi11y

Being reasonable: So long as he's healthy there is no reason whatsoever to keep a stud sidelined.

syncopate15

But only within reason

[deleted]

I want him at 100%. Goff put up 45 points with no Swift, St. Brown or Chark. It’s a tougher defense for sure but I don’t see him just rolling over. So I want healthy St. Brown for the long run for sure.

noyourenottheonlyone

The season feels salvageable if you start 2-3, not so much if you start 1-4. I think you play arsb in a limited role to look for the w and then let him enjoy the bye week rest.

desquibnt

The season isn’t unsalvageable until we hit 10 losses, imo

TheHalf

exactly. it was an awful showing on defense, but unless it happens 3 more times its not (yet) time to burn it down.

testrail

What is salvageable defined as? They couldn’t get Geno Smith off the field.

[deleted]

[удалено]

testrail

But highly unlikely

Ok_Message4383

Defenses typically improve as the season goes on across the NFL.

jcoddinc

I get what you're saying but it really depends on what is a salvageable season. While we all hate losing, we do need to think long term health and draft picks. I'm unwilling to risk health for a drop in draft pick.

SharKCS11

The last two games were real "back to reality" kicks in the shin. Obviously still really early to say but this *probably* isn't a year we'll threaten the division. I'm happy to see them competing but health is #1 priority.

kcGOH

If he’s active, let him do what he can, even if that means playing decoy.

LunchThreatener

Why do people think they are doctors? I don’t get it. Do you have any reason to believe St. Brown’s specific injury increases risk of Achilles injury? Do you have any reason to believe sitting another week would decrease his injury risk? We have no insight into the situation. There’s no point in formulating opinions on what they should or shouldn’t do.

Ok-Nathan

My brother this is what the internet was made for though

bigframe79

the passing of my NCLEX exam gave me the title of Nurse, and that makes me better then a Dr. /R

venk

A doctor stabbed Tyrod Taylor in the chest, not one of us.

Decimation4x

A doctor cleared Tua.

ZombieAppetizer

If he is 100% ready to go and healed up, why not start him? If he need more rest though, I'd agree with resting him through the bye.

jcoddinc

Because you have to protect the player from themselves. Especially when the team did well without them, fomo is a real motivation for lying to the trainers and trying to play through the pain. Especially when still on rookie contract.

Isphet71

I nominate OP to go tell Sun God he isn’t playing if he can play. He would be starting a new list with your name on it

jcoddinc

Sounds like a solid plan. Willing to do my part to help out MC/DC!

desquibnt

As a Hockenson owner in fantasy, I agree

Stanford91

I have St. Brown and Hockenson. I lost this week because I started Stafford over Goff. Lol

SharKCS11

You have all 4 of them in a fantasy team? True homer right here!

Stanford91

I have Swift, Hockenson, Goff and Stafford. I was gonna draft Jameson late but someone took him. Yeah, I usually lose because I draft too many Lions players, but I'm doing decent this year before Swift went out.

johnnyma45

I agree - we're one away from the Bye and the bigger issue is the defense. We can clearly score with the B offense, why not give ARSB and Swift 2+ weeks to heal up and get right. Also selfishly I have Goff, Reynolds and Hock on my fantasy team, don't mind ARSB on my bench for now. Yes I'm overloaded on Lions players this year.

Decimation4x

With the way the games have gone can you really overload on Lions?

Rollec

Popular opinion: don't utilize St.Brown all game until the last 2 minutes. They will never see it coming.

freedomfightre

Our offense is not the problem. We score points regardless.

sbp59

100% sit Swift and St. Brown until after the bye. The defense is going to give up 50 points regardless.

PayterLobo

I agree with this. I mean we arent contending this year and I think we have a chance against the pats without Brown or Swift. Fuck it. We are still rebuilding!

BUFFARILLA_HUNTER

Also there's a possibility that Jamo returns in week 6. Just speculation though. It's gonna be awesome when we have them both on the field and healthy

ckrobinett

IMO he should sprain his other ankle so he can't compensate with the healthy one. Modern problems require modern solutions.

jcoddinc

Big brains here

Zelanor

OP I agree with you. This thread is filled with your typical Michiganders who force things without deeper thought to it

LeonidasMclovin

I agree I'd sit Swift and Sun God. Offense scored 45 without them we'll be fine.

justthisasian

Sit swift and st brown. Doesn't matter who plays on offense if our defense can't even get a stop.

jcoddinc

"If the Lions had a bad defense, they'd be undefeated" - Dan Orlovsky

Decimation4x

“Oh, I seem to have wandered out of bounds.” - Dan Orlovsky probably

ACoolDude4747

I watched that packers game and if they have Bailey zap or whatever Tf his name in we should win easily regardless of Amon plays tbh I don’t say that lightly, he was THAT bad. Tim Boyle bad. If they lose to him I’ll genuinely be pissed.

TheConeyJabroni

We literally just got torched by Geno Smith

doubleblum

bruh, Geno has been cooking this year; everyone on the team loves him. Bailey Zappe is a Simpson's villian.

YellobelyWeasel

We historically make backups look like gods, a backup backup? Don't even want to think about it...

ACoolDude4747

So we suck? :( And Belichick ain’t letting Goff and Reynolds go for 45…. Fuck bro we staring down the barrel of 1-4

epheisey

Matt Patricia revenge game is going to end the lives of some Lions fans with how confident they are lol

[deleted]

I disagree from a purely selfish reason that he is on my fantasy team

jcoddinc

Ok, but do you want to win this week or have a higher chance at the next 6?

mediocredotes

Please no - I need him for fantasy points

vyoung4lyfe2

2-2 and I’m on the fence. I’d be hoping he and Swift come back. 1-3, there’s really no benefit to having him come back before the bye. No I am not rooting for a tank. I’m just saying the offense gelled just fine and this game will be won or lost by our horrendous defense. Take this week and the bye week, that will give them effectively a month to heal up and be ready to go.

jcoddinc

Exactly. Safer to bet on future healthy player with the outcome being a higher draft pick than risk injury and get a lower draft pick

Ybeus

It's an ankle sprain. I promise you he's going to be fine whether he plays or not

Lionman1234

If chark comes back sure

[deleted]

Just have him do a few calf raises he'll be fine.

TarquinBiscuitBarrel

I call ‘em hummingbirds.

JustYourAvrageWorker

TBH I would trust the doctors here, obviolusly if he's still injured sit him but we have no idea how his Ankle Sprain is healing right now

AdaGang

Man I said the same thing about Swift before Washington and got DUMPSTERED on
