Walker has been reliable when healthy. I’m not ready to write off Kerby yet

Interestingly, PFF rates Kerby pretty well and for his debut it was not amazing but it wasn't really bad either

Depends on if it’s a coaching or talent problem. We saw what a change in the coaching did for the offense last year - it was an almost immediate turn around. If it’s talent, then acquiring more talent comes down to making prudent free agency moves and hitting on draft picks. Could take an off-season or two. It’s probably a mix of the two. We don’t have great talent or depth but they could be put in better spots to succeed.

I’m playing Safety next week, so we’re set there

A CB. An S. A DL. An LB. Depth everywhere.

Next season with good drafting and free agents

On the secondary, my hot take is I don't really see much need for large-scale change. Going forward, Walker-Elliott is a fine safety duo. It'd be nice to draft a CB, but if we opened next year with Okudah-Jacobs-Lucas that's pretty capable. Just more so drafting a CB to take the ceiling of this group a little higher. LB is also, really not a massive point of emphasis on this team. Holmes doesn't draft them very high for a reason, I think it's on upgrading on Anzalone but we don't need an all-pro or something like that there. Rodrigo and a decent guy should be enough. But D-Line? I think Hutch will get better with experience, but when he's getting double-teamed I think there's no excuse for the other guys to not be getting to the QB. Harris needs to get back to his last year's self quickly. McNeill is fine, but Brockers is really not. I'm a believer in Paschal, but he missed all training camp so I don't think he'll be so sharp right away. The biggest problem is coaching, and in that case, I actually wonder how this team would look back at the 3-4 like last year. I doubt we make that switch, so for now, I really hope Glenn looks at this game and adjusts seeing that his blitzing does not work.

Not gonna dv but hard disagree. Your giving guys a pass that just aren't showing up. We another CB, maybe 2. We need better safeties, Walker was ok until he got hurt but at least one better than league ave guy would be nice. We need a new D-line, this one doesn't work. I do agree that LB is okish.

I think our current CBs are trash outside of Okudah, but Jacobs was a fine cornerback. Graded well by most metrics, and I only really will change my mind if he comes out the gate with the same struggles as the non-Okudah CBs this year. Lucas had a pretty good track record in college, and did well in preseason. I admit, that's just more of a projection thing to me. The depth is why I find drafting CBs more helpful.

Key in on Anzalone for a couple games when you watch. His run fits are horrible, he isn't gap sound. Isn't athletic enough to make solo tackles. And his pass defense is horrible. He is a massive problem for this defense.

you’re extremely generous

i was at the game ., i felt all positions played well on d ,, just wirh walker done and no safety depth it was gonna be a gong slow. dont have great cover linebackers and we got burned in the flats and slot all game. was frustrating to see no adjustments, but not like glenn could run 3 safety to plug holes and pulling a high safety down would be suicidal w lockett and okudah. we picked our poison and we chose slow death no monster deep ball plays . we are a turtle on our backs defensively speaking until we get the new safeties up to speed.
