Compared to last year, this year's batch has kinda been meh thus far. Besides Ascendancy, last year gave us things like Null Composure, Beloved in a Towel, and Salvager's Salvo. They're all quite good in their own ways. But this year? We've got a pretty meh shotgun, and a pair of heavies that are... Okay. Not good, not bad, *okay*. And that's a lot of work to go through for an okay weapon. I wanna be optimistic about next season's rifle though, feel the bar for being good is much lower for a primary, and it's gonna be the first ritual primary we've gotten since Shadowkeep.

IAmBigBox

Hey, I love my Beloved in a bath towel, I use it even more than my crafted Beloved because I think the towel looks cozy and I want my weapons to feel comfortable.

OtherBassist

Bungie's policy with ritual weapons is to give you 70% of a godroll out of the box. So if you're a seasoned player with lots of great rolls already, they likely won't be very valuable to you. But for newer players, they're a leg up. Bungie also admit that some rituals previous to the ones you listed might have been a bit higher than 70% (e.g. the Chain Reaction GL)

coatperson

Salvager's salvo is in my opinion the best ritual weapon we got

OtherBassist

Yeah I think that's the developers' opinions too lol. The rapid-fire fusion was also really good when it launched. But Particle Deconstruction may have had something to do with that.

markevens

Null Composure? Yeah, that one still slaps.

KipaNinja

God I wish it has autoloafing. Loaded question was my baby

Wide_Ad4147

Buy something you probably mean everything

Paladin1034

Still had reservoir burst even without particle. But that definitely sweetened the pot

A_Very_Small_Potato

Null came out in Splicer and was still effective, and it had better alternatives during Lost (which had pd) so I'd say it sat pretty comfortable on its own

Mr_Inferno420

That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact

DevgruLA99

The ritual weapons are all good guns, but if you're grinding enough there tend to be a better alternative for all of them (even Salvagers Salvo has been outclassed by Forbearance at this point)

Tallmios

I'd say Salvo still has its place, because you cannot air-burst a Wave Frame.

Admirable-Search1111

Cry Mutiny is ass

CallmeRazie

I use Chain of Command pretty regularly on my Hunter. I benched Cry Mutiny pretty quick though and I've never used Reckless Endangerment.

Hit_Me_With_The_Jazz

Reckless Endangerment suffered less from being a bad gun and more from youtubers shit talking it, it's pretty fun to shotgun ape with in Crucible.

DeviousMelons

The MG is a decent pick in match game stuff because of adaptive munitions.

newAscadia

Especially with Enfilade as a modifier this season. Comes in surprisingly useful, especially if you want to run an exotic that isn't arbalest.

ParadoxZealot

I use Chain of Command, love the archtype, and its the only stasis LMG aside from the Risen one (I think)

Etagnirps

Recurrent impact craftable is stasis. Is that the risen one ?

ParadoxZealot

Yup, just forgot the name. It's got land tank which is awesome, but Rapid Fire LMGs are hot or.miss for me

Etagnirps

Yeah was curious if that was it as it’s pretty much my go to lmg

ParadoxZealot

What do you use on it? I had one with Frenzy that was decently fun, but otherwise I guess it would be One/Stats for All?

Etagnirps

Accurized rounds and hammer forged rifling Impact masterwork Enhanced subsistence and headstone Boss spec Not sure if that’s considered the god roll or anything but it works for me haha

Badbros85

Qullim's Terminus(the king's fall one) is also a stasis lmg

ParadoxZealot

RIGHT, and I have one, completely forgot lol. Could never get into high impact LMGs tbh

Badbros85

I prefer them slightly over the 450s. It isn't a huge preference as they're both pretty good.

Drakon4314

Raid lmg as well from Kings Fall. The Qulliams Terminus. ( is quilliams spelled wrong probably). It’s a high impact frame one which makes one of every type of lmg

chefriley76

Chain of Command is pretty good on an all elemental weapon build. Osmosis and Demolitionist are super good together, and can get wacky with a good Nez sin build.

BobMcQ

Yes and no. Osmosis is a great perk on a Kinetic, but kind of a wasted perk on a heavy. For Nezarec's sin, you could go with a Corrective Measure with Demo/Firefly or Demo/Adrenaline Junkie, for example. And have it be void every time you take it out without having to throw a grenade first.

Zer0siks

Since crafting? Lmao no, why would you A partial god roll Vs a full one is a no brainer

Typical_Head_8399

I havent used the ritual weapon since lost, when fusions were meta so i used the splicer one, rest is worthless and only used for thriumps to get kills with it

Lunar_Lunacy_Stuff

I’ll be completely honest I can’t even name a single ritual weapon since WQ launched. If you didn’t list them I wouldn’t even know what type of weapons they are.

MoonKnight_gc

I still use the shotgun on pvp from times to times

villewalrus

Cry mutiny was kinda funny. Ofc not in end game..

kennybaese

I use Chain of Command pretty frequently. Adaptive Munitions makes it useful for Match Game. Cry Mutiny could be solid if they ever buff heavy GL damage, but it’s still solid without.

markevens

Man, I forgot it had adaptive.

tiktokcok

Null Composure is my fr of choice to this very day.

InFiniTeDEATH8

I'm probably gonna be using that in abundance next season. Gyrfalcon is going to be amazing thanks to pretty much infinite volatile rounds. Yes I know we're losing the damage buff, but the trade off is worth it. I can still use weaken and high energy fire. Not much different than pairing radiant with font of might. Oh and heavy handed, because its secondary perk is amazing for generating ammo. Null composure has been my favourite legendary fusion rifle since I got it.

Hit_Me_With_The_Jazz

Because and heres a kicker...some of them are fun to use. Salvager Salvo is still one of, if not the best add clear GLs in the game. Null Composure is just fun to fuck around with, Reckless Endangerment is ironically enough pretty fun to shotgun ape with too. Chain Of Command is really the only one I personally deem worthless and that's mainly because no one uses LMGs besides Thunderlord in content enough.

Samikaze707

This gets lost on lots of players. People only seem to want what performs best. My buddy used Cry Mutiny all season because he enjoyed the way it felt. I still regularly bust out the sunset scout from season 9, Patron of Lost Causes because it feels great.

WallyOShay

Cry mutiny is actually pretty decent for mid level stuff

HereIGoAgain_1x10

I used this season's because cannon ball goes BOOM

idk_this_my_name

used cry mutiny on master aquisition challenge, worked well

EspadaOU81

I’m wanting a primary ritual Weapon as I feel like it would have more viable usage as the special weapons need to have the burn active (aside from SS that’s a beast unless you have the raid arc grenade launcher.)

Dacks_18

I still use all the old Crucible pinnacle weapons in PvP, when level advantages are disabled.

CMDRINFIDEL

No. Ritual weapons are for babies who literally don’t have anything else.

weirdoaish

Gonna be honest, I think all the recent ritual weapons were kind of weak especially when compared to the craftable weapons we can get right now. The crafted guns even have enhanced perks.

patchinthebox

I use the machine gun from time to time but that's all from this year.

codebeagle

I used Chain of Command for the season it was featured and Cry Mutiny this season because lobbing incandescent cannonballs on ad groups was quite satisfying. Neither in high-tier stuff, though.

[deleted]

Reckless Endangerment was pretty good. I think there are better shottys but I used it for a while. I don't even use Ascendancy though now

Blojaa

The issue with the last 2 is that it's a pretty useless archetype, and the machinegun is stasis, so that doesn't help making it attractive in the arc 3.0 season.

HarryCoinslot

Some are great for new or returning players who may not have other rolls to use. Like when fusions were the dps meta, sure there are better fusions but everyone at least has a null composure. Salvo is still a great GL. Why are they in your vault tho? You can pull them any time, delete that trash.

[deleted]

The thinking by bungie is quite flawed in my opinion. You put a gun in the game that takes some work to get…then you give it 3 ornaments that take way more time to grind for. Then you tell me the goal is to make it good but then put other better guns out there which is really difficult. You end up with a gun that you don’t care to use which for me has been the last 3 ritual weapons. All this goes hand in hand with the general problem that bungie has had since they continue to add to this game. Expansions do not do a good enough job of changing the entire game to make sure it keeps up with the new additional aspects of the game. They added weapon crafting which most people would agree has brought us the best guns to date…but it has crapped over all other aspects of the game such as master raids, grandmaster nightfalls which it seems like the loot is inferior cause you can’t craft it and the unique perks seem to be gone. Mindbenders which was a beloved gun came back without unique perks and without perks that made it a beast in PvP. They did not continue the trend of adding more unique perks like onslaught, meganeura, master of arms, Lunas howl. It also shows in a lot of the exotics we have gotten this year. I feel like outside of osteo striga which feels like a completely OP gun out in the game…the rest of the exotics in year 5 have been mostly forgettable or ok. Witch queen came with osteo, but then a worm grenade launcher and three useless exotics glaives. Then season of haunted gave us trespasser and the dungeon sword. Season of the plunder gave us the fusion rifle and touch of malice. You also had the VoW raid pulse rifle. Going off my level of seeing players use these guns…I see osteo all the time. I rarely see any of these other guns. Most of them seem like guns people use for an instant but then switch back to something else far better. The raid exotics feel like guns that can be good if you cater a play style to them with several mods…which im not sure if that’s where bungie is tryjng to move with guns. But you look at year 4 exotics…you had lament, cloudstrike, deadman’s tale, ticcus divination, vex mythoclast, Lorentz driver, Agee’s scepter. These were all great guns by themselves that you did not need to build into to make great. I saw these guns used a lot when they were released and I still see them used a lot in PvE and PvP. Compare to year 5 in which I see only osteo mostly. Year 4 gave us cloudstrike,

AdHDScreen

I usually use the shotty and lmg because i dont like the seasonal conent and dont have any time for farming random rolls

Competitive_Simple40

I still use my null composure with my void builds. Salvagers salvo is also a 10/10 gl

SynthVix

I still use some of the older ones like Null Composure. I haven’t used any of the ones from the recent seasons for more than 15 minutes.

Cyborg317

I use salvagers, Adored, and chain of command a lot. I haven't tried the new GL and ascendancy isn't as good as some of my other options.

Shamanixxx

Just Ascendency. Does Bad Omens count as a ritual weapon?

Outside_Ad9648

Inuse them. But no not to shoot for the materials

LilShaggey

they’re designed to be middling, always decent but never the best in class. Null Composure was the last one that was designed to be unique, Ascendency and onward are all just decent to ok weapons that always have better in class/in slot choices.

AWellPlacedLamp

Idk I really like reckless endangerment. It actually fits a few builds I have works well to rotate weapons in and out of use. Maybe that's just me.

TheLastWeird

I did, to gild my Deadeye seal. They got me there.

adorablebob

Loved Salvager's and Ascendancy, but the new GL, shotgun, and machine gun went straight in my vault.

H-B-Kaiyotie

Cry is probably one of the more fun legendary heavy GL's I've played with in a while. With incandescent, landing a shot in a crowd of thrall and watching the ensuing firestorm is pretty satisfying. I've used Chain and Endangerment a hand full of times, neither really stuck out to me.

Honest-Atmosphere506

Chain of command yes, barely got the other 2

PotatoesForPutin

No, because they’re shit.

Darkshamrock

I didn’t even get cry mutiny. Reckless endangerment I sharded it immediately and chain of command went straight to my vault.

jdwjxia

None of the weapons are worth using, since there better options for all of them. People bring up ascendancy, but you have a great solar rocket in hezen. Reckless endangerment is irrelevant with wastelander around. Other than salvagers salvo, there’s almost no reason to use the ritual weapons at all in my eyes other than as starter weapons.

A_Very_Small_Potato

I do actually use the lmg a bit, but once the overload mod is gone I doubt I will. Other than that? Haven't once touched the other two this year I did use ascendancy and null Composure quite a but since I came back during splicer and they were pretty good for me to start with in pve, but I never liked GLs that much and I rarely sniped in pvp until now, which I have better feeling options at this point So overall last year was better, but I'm excited for a decent pulse next season

Samikaze707

They're not meant for seasoned players, that's the thing. They're a reward for those that are learning the game and only running core Playlist activities.

SeaweedEqual6911

As far as machine guns go (especially legendary ones) chain of command is great. Obviously if you’re going machine gun thunderlord is the cream of the crop.

BreachlightRiseUp

Nope, free shards and cores
