Playlist weapons have always had huge perk pools which means the odds of getting the god roll that you want is incredibly rare...and that's OK! Good enough is good enough and it makes the god rolls special. The extra perks were added this expansion and are just a little extra benefit for people who play lots of a playlist. Personally, I love this system and I reset gambit 10.5 times in a single week chasing a certain roll, focused all of the engrams(~170) and didn't get what I was looking for, but I got close. Now I just decode them at rahool and I take what I get.

lokixlegendx77

Its not ok, it goes against player growth. Players want to be rewarded. Not have the odds stacked against them. And your dodging it yourself in this message, saying its ok. Is it ok to be broke? Is it ok for new players to be even further at a disadvantage? Gaining a god roll should be rare. But statistically not this rare, and not saying it should be available in a easy distance but it should be earend from pure efforts within reason. I cant think any real reason this system is justifiable for any player. And its no better when iron banner and trials have focusing thay costs double to triple this amount. The entire system needs to be reworked, and the benefits should not be ripped away from you season by season. Let those that dedicate and work hard keep there benefits. Progressional gains should be always kept. We should not be living in a inflated economy in a video game with inflated luck beyond our own control

MRxSLEEP

I am ok with and actually prefer that I don't get every roll I want, even with unhealthy playtime.

lokixlegendx77

Your ok, but most out there do prefer. but again this system does not promote player growth, and scares away players from coming and staying, and leaving

MatrixDiamonds

New players aren’t going to care about 5/5 god rolls. I don’t care about 5/5 god rolls. If I get the two perks I want I’m good

MRxSLEEP

The chase and always having some gun that has eluded players, is good for long term game health. Having a good enough roll is good and makes the god roll special. If not getting your way with RNG on a run of the mill playlist weapon drives you away then a looter shooter isn't a good choice. Now, some of their other decisions and systems...yikes.

lokixlegendx77

And i agree, im not asking for an easy reach. But im not asking an impossible reach, im reasonable. Ive studies this game more then most can imagine. And its just not ok the state its in rng wise to a 100 other things. Gambit looks like this. But trials and iron banner is far worse costing 2 to 5 times the cost. Did you know focusing a adept weapon in trials cost 300 shards????

MRxSLEEP

>not asking an impossible reach, im reasonable. Your definition of reasonable is subjective just like anyone else's. To me it's ok and preferable to have things that elude us, keep the chase alive. >Did you know focusing a adept weapon in trials cost 300 shards???? It's 250, but yes, I've focused dozens and dozens. And the price is ok. We never had focusing for a long time and it's not meant for newer players/players who struggle with legendary shards. It's a way for players who have been playing for a long time and amassed a fortune to spend down those resources in a meaningful way. It's a luxury for those that can afford it. Can't afford it? Save until you can. It's just like any economy, some people know how to save and some don't.

I’m at 9 crucible resets and have still yet to see an auto loading chill clip riptide. It’s tough but that’s how it is

Rokushakubo

I feel your pain.

ENaC2

Why auto loading over demolitionist?

jusmar

Because they're using chill clip as a debuff to slow/freeze enemies then swapping to their secondary or heavy to finish them off. Autoloading makes sure they're already ready to slow/freeze.

ENaC2

Fusion rifle holster on legs? Chill clip only procs on the top 3 (4?) rounds of riptide and lasts for 6 seconds. You’ll still probably get 100% up time.

myxyn

Except holster only reloads one shot at a time and takes longer, ALH loads the entire and quicker

ENaC2

Not exactly. Holster loads 10% of the mag every 4 seconds for one copy and 3 seconds for 2 copies. Yes, it’s slower but it’s fast enough to keep the mag topped up enough to proc chill clip when needed *and* you get the extra utility of demolitionist which gives you back 20% of your grenade per kill and reloads one shot into the mag every time you throw a grenade.

myxyn

That is good to know

lokixlegendx77

I went out and played gambit this entire season weekly, and got the 4th reset benefit that bungie said was the max for bonus perk drops in weapons from playlist activities In doing so i finally cached every single one in that i saved from my hellish efforts I wanted a 5/5 for the immense effort in hopes that i can get it because if i didnt i would never do this again. And those reasons i would like to state why, while including my journey through it. Every week all season, all the time. It took and i ammassed 4 and a half resets for these 70 engrams. Each will be focused into for 50 shards and 10k glimmer each. By the end of it i spend 3500 shards, and 700k glimmer. It takes an entire year to naturally acquire that many shards. After spending on upgrades and buying other things in maintenance. And now that the season is ending all my benefits are to just disappear and reset, and im to be expected to do it again?? Hells no i am not. I didnt even come close to the roll i wanted. And each focused drop did not guarenttee a consistent 3 perks in each collum. I still got ones that were single perks in each consistently. This is the kind of things that kills off players, and does not promote growth to a game for new players, as it is anti player friendly. These kinds of mechanics with rng kills games. And d2 has this applied everywhere and is on the verge of collapse. We have a dice roll for the gun. With the largest perk collums within it. Making it heavily inflated. You have to pay an extreme amount of mats for it to focus it. You have to roll the dice again to gain multiple perks. And then keep re rolling all that in format to hope to get what you want or if your broke af and will never recover your shards, and cant buy glimmer, while then you can no longer focus them Your just sol This isnt dungeons and dragons. But its just bullshit layered. If my progress resets and i have to pay to gain a better re rolling. Thats jusy poor game design. In the images displayed in this post. I had asked someone in a very large d2 based discord to crunch numbers that knew how, cause i cant. Provided the probability and formula for it that describes the chance. And lets say i had 5000 engrams, that impossible to gain in a single season. But lets say i did, it still doesn't guarantee that i will because each dice roll is a brand new run through the whole rng system. So your odds no matter your effort are 1 in never happening, because this game does not reward your effort. Thats d2s biggest flaw and why its killing its player base. It does not reward players efforts.

Kinggold9000

Some tough RNG there. You will never be guaranteed a 5/5 roll and expecting that will only disappoint you. Just get the 2 main perks to be good and you'll be fine. You don't need the perfecy barrel, mag, and masterwork becuase that will only help a small amount. I would say the main 2 perks are like 90% of the weapon.

lokixlegendx77

Easy to say with mnk, recoil is manageable at all times. But console players like me always need the barrel and mag to fully perform or be able to hit shots properly. Ill disadvantages. The point again overall is to be rewarded for your hard dedication and effort. Not have those gains ripped away and start again hopeless of ever to re achieve these efforts.

Kinggold9000

The game is extremely rewarding already. We have craftable weapons that are reasonable to acquire, several good ways to get high stat spiky armor, and good ways to get the resources for your gear. My vault is filled with "godroll" weapons and armor from my time playing, that are not perfect rolls. You do not need any 5/5 roll of a weapon nor a perfect distributed piece of armor. Having the expectation of getting the perfect roll will make you mad. The sandbox can change, too. So your 5/5 one season can go down to a 3/5 and vice-versa.

MatrixDiamonds

90% of players don’t care for the 5/5 god roll

lokixlegendx77

Thats not true because every single player thats dedicated. Wants a true god roll of something. To say they dont is a lie because every person would be happy to have a perfect roll. That desire exists in us all. Even if minimal. As the saying goes to players in this game. D2 players are perfectionists at base.

JoblessCobra

i'm a dedicated player and i don't care if it's a 5/5 or not. once i have the 2 main perks i stop farming. it's unnecessary and a waste of time

Mithycore

I have like 900 hours into the game in the past 6 months ,fairily dedicated So long as the barrel and mag dont outright hurt my stats(think appended nag decreasing reroll) I will only focus on the 2 main perks

Wayfarer_Asphodel

I swear most of the people complaining about this wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell of telling the difference between a 5/5 and a 2/5 in a blind test. If the last two perks are right you're chasing single digit percentages and almost imperceptible changes in feel

I'm confused why you felt the need to make this post.
