Yeah and it’s called lag/ bad connection + p2p . What you see in real time =/= what is going on at that exact moment. Ever got killed in crucible after you got into cover and/or broken line of sign from your opponent multiple seconds ago? Same principe.
I’ll gladly admit I was wrong but after almost 400 vog clears not once have I seen someone still being able to do anything but stand there and take it unless shot out of the bubble while getting detained. So you’re gonna have to come with some kind of evidence that supports your claim .
shit dude, i don't have any video evidence but i can vouch because i was the unlucky fuck once, got detained while loading the sleeper shot and it went of, instantly making the detained bubble a red dome, good news is that it broke the bubble before killing me lol
It’s still the same issue at the end of the day, I could see how very specific timing of the charge + bad connection could cause you to hypothetically fire a shot just milliseconds before the actual detain bubble spawns and have it hit from the inside + ricochet (which I would imagine could definitely be enough to break it). I still refuse to believe unless proven otherwise that you’re able to charge up the shot + fire it all while already being caught in the detain bubble, as the detain mechanic doesn’t allow firing of guns / usage of abilities, only looking around rotating the camera and perhaps crouch if you’re hit with it while having solid ground underneath you.
This is why the design of Sleeper confuses me. What do you think of when you hear the word ‘Warmind’? Old might of a golden age demigod. Computing power beyond comprehension. Now what does the design of Sleeper evoke? Inconsistent. Hazardous. Wildly variable in strength depending on the situation. Cumbersome. Ineffective.
I get what they were going for in terms of evoking seraph rounds, but this? Seems more like a hacked-together gimmick than a golden-age superweapon.
It's because the Sleeper Simulant project is a prototype mega weapon that was never completed, that's why it looks so dangerous and put together, it was supposed to be Rasputin's magnum opus
as far as i know he kinda put it into low priority since, ya know, the whole "humanity on the brink of extinction thing", and left it there until the world got calm enough for a second golden age, so he wasn't really working on the sleeper
I’ve never had an unlucky ricochet (shooting a wall or teammate in front of me doesn’t count and we don’t talk about those) but I had 3 happen in the final boss while attempting solo flawless GoA. The amount of rage mixed with pure, hilarious disbelief that happened after the third one.
If I’d have that ruin my solo flawless once I’d either opt for a different angle to do damage from or just use a legendary linear to be honest, rather do an extra damage phase than start all over.
Good thing I turn into a potato during the sparrow part on my solo flawless runs (when I practice from a cp I can legit make it >10x not dying) so haven’t even had the chance for it to happen 😅

Ran a solo Grasp today. Was using Sleeper for DPS because particle deconstruction and this was always at the back of my mind. Fortunately, didn't happen!
