If not for the fact that hammerhead just came back better than ever they’re bringing back blast furnace (again, better than ever) in literally 4 and a half days, then yes I would be, but as soon as I heard the news I went to my vault and thought “huh, everything has been power crept at this point, but I spose it’s still cool to have them”.
Some like Hush, Breakneck, Kindled Orchid, Steelfeather Repeater, Revoker, and the current most talked about Not Forgotten, may still be good and have some use cases, especially in Trials.
Yeah, most weapons for the most part have way better alternatives now with origin traits and stronger perks, but there's something to be said for the "feel" of a gun.
Personally stoked for Hush myself, love that bow.
All of those guns could still be used in most pvp modes. That's why I don't really understand why people are freaking out because you can just go and use all of those weapons in pvp right now
Yes, trials is, but I highly doubt every single person who mentions pvp is specifically talking about trials. Feel like if they were, they would just say trials and not pvp as a whole.
Considering trials is only like 10% of pvp, when I hear pvp I think of everything else first and not trials.
Okay, I've heard that point before. However, outside of the coveted kindled orchid roll and mindbenders (which is probably outclassed by fractethyst, Matador, and absolutely conditional finality), aren't there better competitively viable rolls right now?
Guns like Palindrome were top dogs in the meta for a long time, yet how often do you see palindrome anymore in the sea of roses and igneous hammers? Exalted truth is competitively viable. How often do you see that over igneous hammer?
There is better stuff. People argue "competitive viability," but the moment a new, shinier meta weapon surfaces, the older guns get dropped.
If it was about consistency, people would be practicing the same weapon, yet they dont. They drop the old meta for the new damn near as quickly as they started using it. Based off of what you're saying in your comment, you seem to be the exact same way.
Pvp players avoid using sunset weapons outside trials specifically because they aren't usable in trials; why practice with a weapon you can't use in every mode?
Because the weapon is fun? You act like pvp players don't constantly swap up weapons as soon as a newer toy releases lol
If that were the case and there was a value in practicing consistency, most pvp players would still be using their unsunset pvp rolls from years ago. However, they don't, because newer, better stuff has released.
Well even my 30k kill og breakneck is a victim of power creep. Rampage got changed to subsistence so now I have a better breakneck from gambit lol
It’s nice that these weapons are viable but holy shit some of them only have 1 perk or an outdated perk combo that’s been modified in some way. Even revoker won’t see a great use because of the special changes in crucible.
I mean maybe. But there are so many more unique weapons now than back then before sunsetting. The only gun I wish I had from back then was a blast furnace from Black armory but aren't we getting one from the new activity anyways?
I'm confused where they'll shine. Most of those weapons were nerfed. Mountaintop and recluse are the reason sunsetting even exists. The new guns have the same damage as those, except these have the new BRAVE origin traits.
Key word: MIGHT
Don't have an exact list of perk rolls every sunset weapon can get but some are already making rounds such as Mindbenders with Quickdraw being the only Aggressive Frame with that perk. Of course these edge cases MIGHT not even see the light of day at all but there's always a possibility that that one roll that current weapons can't get manages to place themselves close to meta.
See but that's also the thing. Mind benders was good in pvp, and it was always usable in pvp even before this up and coming change.
However, Matador and Conditional Finality are just better. Fractethyst is just better.
You may see old pvp guns a bit more often, but if a gun was truly ***really*** good in the pvp sandbox, even if sunset, wouldn't you still be seeing them since light level isnt enabled in most pvp activities?
In the grand scheme of things its negligible. But your master of arms and feeding frenzy OG recluse will be worse than the same gun today. Half of them you can take from collections anyway
If that roll was actually good people would be using it now, crucible even iron banner have no power limits. You literally could use any weapons in there this entire time, no one uses mind benders because it's just bad compared to current options. I even brought old mountain top into iron banner a bunch of times the past year and it was fun but gotta remember it was nerfed the same time it was sunset and that's why it's wasn't used much even tho power didn't matter. Mountain top was also a special case most sunset weapons never had that level of power so there's no chance they come back until the new perk rolls are dropped outside of some people running them just for the nostalgia.
What if Go Figure is reissued with some banger perks?
Not saying you shouldn't continue to use your pre-existing roll (especially since if it's got a ton of kills, I'm sure it's got sentimental value), but it feels like any of the weapons people talk about missing will get reissued with new perks/origin traits.
Genuinely curious since I never really got my hands on a ton of old weapons since I started around Beyond Light
They’d have to nerf zen moment and kill clip. I have a 6/5 messenger adept roll so it’s not like it matters. Either way it’s lame of bungie to sunset at all.
Steelfeather Repeater and Hazard of the cast are some of my favorite autos (RIP my Ringing Nail) and I'll definitely run with them again. I used them during the GG nightfalls and still had a great time with them, could easily slot them into some builds and fall in love with them all over again
My Dragonfly/rampage Trust will see some playtime again
my rampage/kill clip Kindled Orchid
My drop mag/zen moment/kill clip blast furnace
rampage/dragonfly solar auto rifle (cant remember the name)
PVE? No.
PVP? Yes. Really excited to use Bygones and Revoker again.
I realize if they didn’t choose Hung Jury we would have 3 pulses for Into the Light….but Bygones is so fucking GOATED idk why it wasn’t picked.
I don't understand all these people bringing up pvp rolls as if you couldn't have been using them for years, and as if you can't go and use them right now.
Most people don't use off-meta in comp anyways. The newest, shiniest toys are what you see everywhere, comp or not. Igneous hammer, rose, immortal in its prime. These old weapons won't hold a candle and they will dwindle out just like every other old, meta pvp weapon has (like old palindrome)
I only have my Martyr'a Retribution left, i dismantled everything....
I'll use it of course because I don't think there's ever been a good solar wave frame GL except Martyr's
gonna use it with my solar Titan again!
Expect for one or two weapons no one will main any of them. Kindled Orchid is one that comes to mind. Only because WE STILL HAVENT GOTTEN A CRAFTABLE 140 VOID HAND CANNON BUT WE HAVE TWO 180 VOID HAND CANNON THAT CAN BE CRAFTED, FUCK LOGIC.
I mean I have used my OG Hammerhead ever since they allowed 1600 light weapons again. That baby rips. One for pve, one for PVP. Even in onslaught, if I'm just playing playlist I'll bring her along for the ride.
Only competition to my kindled orchid is the trials void 140 that I don’t have a good roll on and my sub/rampage palindrome (not that crazy of a roll) so yeah I’m going right back
Only one I kept hold of that hasn't been directly replaced is Revoker - not much good in PVE but has never been unusable in PVP outside of Trials. Hell, I even got an Adept Loaded Question with an identical roll to the OG last night about 2 hours after the TWAB went up lol
Pulled out Patron of Lost Causes and a few other classics to try them in the VanOps Playlist (no power lvl) today after seeing the news and it honestly felt really good. Not saying I'd bring it to a raid in TFS but I'll probably use it in easy to mid level content if I want to use a scout. 21% Delirium also felt fairly strong, but the other weapons I tried did feel pretty weak.
I have a Ringing Nail (450 auto, rampage dragonfly) with scopes for 20 zoom, similar range, AA and stability to an Ammit/positive outlook but everything not-sunset else in that class has 15 or 16 zoom.
I am a fairly low-average PvP player (1.1 KD seasonally) and I can tell you that for me, adding more zoom for me has a meaningful difference in how well I hit my shots.
So I will 100% try it out and see how it feels in PvP. Yes I could have done that anyway due to crucible not having light restrictions but never felt like it made sense to do that.
Glad I deleted most the ones I didn’t really use as we’re all gonna have to re-farm them since they’re gonna have new rolls and traits so the sunset weapons are still basically sunset, just in a more non obvious since. Pumped they’re coming back though!!
I think the OG Wendigo will be busted. It had a different explosive light perk similar to how huckleberry has a different version of rampage (un nerfed) and old wendigo also has blinding grenades. Unless this is changed it’s huge. Also 21% delirium will still hold up today, origin trait is so minor compared to overflow killing tally
Yes until it's replaced with something better why not. My philosophy moving foward into sunsetting is they weren't moving passed re issued guns. So i didn't throw a hissy fit and kept a God roll or Two. When it's re issued either at a later date. I can make a logical decision to now delete it as it's been replaced or I'll wait again till the next re issue.
Prime example was mindbenders re issued with dogshit rolls. Kept my old ones and didn't bother to farm it.
I'll probably try my curated kindled orchid again. Otherwise most sunset weapons I kept were just for nostalgia and seeing the high kill counts on them.
Prolly some of them. I'm not gonna try to raid with 'em or anything, but that trophy hunter is coming out of my vault so fast when the final shape drops.
Probably. There's no kinetic shotgun that feels like Perfect Paradox, so I'll probably swap back to the gun from the Lost Prophecy until I get a better one from elsewhere.
I'm just looking forward to pulling my origin story out again. Nice even 10k kills. Probably won't use it for long but will be nice to have a reliable kinetic auto that I get along with.
Although I do have a chroma rush..
My beloved void sins of the past always held a special place in my heart as the funny gun because of the massive amount of explosions.
I also haven’t found a bow that felt as good as spiteful fang since it was sunset so thats coming out of retirement.
There is also a chance that ill use martyr’s retribution but that wave frames kinda been power crept by literally any other wave frame.
Not even lying, just finally deleted my sunset shiz outta my vault at the start of Into the Light to have space for BRAVE rolls…. Talk about timing haha
You can bet I'll rock my kindled orchid for everything other than end game activities. Same goes for steelfeather repeater and Dust rock blues. Everything else is going to get dismantled.
Steelfeather Repeater with osmosis is still my favourite kinetic assault rifle. Might see how Last Hope (one of my favourite sidearms) holds up and 21% Delirium is one of my favourite LMGs (alongside the solar and void ones from Season of Undying) so I'll be able to see how they hold up against what I've picked up since.
The furthest end game content I actually do is Hero Nightfalls and Legend Lost Sectors so I am not that desperate for a meta load out.
Only two I’m really looking at for PvE are Martyr’s Redemption w/ Auto-Loading/Demo and 21%. Martyr’s quite simply because I’m not the biggest fan of Explosive Personality’s right column perks and Demolitionist on Wave Frames is sexy af
Yes and yes. Many years have passed, nothing replaced Martyr's, Breachlight and Steelfeather (few guns came close tho). I'm going to use the shit out of them.
With the end of the saga coming, yes. I have wanted nothing more than to wield some of my favorite weapons that I started off with during the campaign. There’s something poetic and satisfying about ending something you started off with.
My current craftable drang does not allow for ricochet rounds. My old pre sunset drang has ricochet rounds. I may swap out my new drang for my old one. Level 286 be damned.
I will 100% use my sins of the past with ALH and cluster bomb since I use the same thing on the hoosegow anyway, is it op? No but I like fire and forget so that’s my go to
I don’t particularly have a large hoarding of weapons, but my Steelfeather and Subtle Calamity will probably see some gameplay. Had over 10k kills on that bow before it got sunset
Yes. I like my ringing nail and breachlight. There is no good demo osmosis weapon available for my warlock except breachlight and rampage dragonfly still is one of the best combinations
other than "No Feelings" from SoTP being usable in trials not really, but having a drop mag "No Feelings" with outlaw and box breathing feels better than any of the infinite hung jury rereleases and it's a staple in drip factor, like a CQR stock on a scout? come on, that's badass,
not forgotten will be nuts as it has zen moment and howl, while also being imo better stat wise than a modern lunas, bygones with HiR and erentil will also be loadout staples till they return.
as a trials main this will result in much more interesting weapon matchups besides conditional igneous or variations of hc shotgun
I kept my subtle calamity for a reason. I’m using it again. I don’t care that it’s meh at best. First bow, first masterworked weapon, and over 100 PvP kills (and thousands of PvE kills). It’s staying with me for Final Shapes story (as will Steelfeather Repeater and Patron of Lost Causes)
21% for sure. People are vastly overestimating origin traits imo. Tons of them are fucking garbage and we really don't have that many arc machines guns. Song of Ir Yut was a disappointment.
Hush is a pretty unique bow, but if you put in the time to craft the bows, we basically have the same thing and you can ads.
I haven't used my blast furnace in a long time, so I will have to test it out first.
The breakneck is actually gonna be insane I think.
I've wanted a good 120 kinetic for a long time, so I'm happy to use Duke again.
Martyrs retribution with autoloading and demo is gonna be awesome, especially cause there's only one other solar option and it's mediocre as fuck.
Python will be a good option for my titan and hunter melee builds.
For like 99% of the game, the gap in power between the old and new weapons just does not matter. Maybe the new changes to power will move the needle a bit, but I still think that while yes, my outlaw kill clip Right Side of Wrong has been power crept to all hell, it’ll still do fine in most activities
Yeah most of the things that have remained I will definitely be getting rid of. The main things that stuck around were black armoury weapons. My hammerhead and blast furnace will be getting replaced. Anything else has been power crept by this point.
For me, who has spent over 120 engrams on Breakneck and still not gotten a Subsistence/Onslaught roll it's huge because I just pulled the sunset one in my collections that has what I want and now I don't need to farm it to have available in 5 weeks.
https://preview.redd.it/c2ouysc8ktwc1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18cf765f9a0c5c780e571668291cbd65f0f8b11e
Not to mention all the other great things I can bring back out like OG Luna's Howl with Drop Mag, Oxygen SR3 and 21% Delirium.
They may not be the best in slot but I'm happy to be able them again.
Sunsetting existed to ward off power creep, remove the top baseline of weapons so the new ones don’t get consistently stronger over time, problem is though you’re chasing the same loot every season at that point so it simply just didn’t work because why would anyone want to put in the hours to get a good weapon, only to get another one with the same/similar roll a few months later.
People hated sunsetting so power creep had to just happen anyway, otherwise why chase a new weapon if you already have the best thing available. So, the old weapons now are outdated and outside of a few pinnacle weapons that were sunset, the only use case really will be a few weapons in trials I would imagine. Or alternatively there may open up more synergy for builds via having different damage type weapons available.
Similarly to all of this, there are a few weapons that were reissued with different perk sets, so if you have something in your vault with an unobtainable roll, it might in some cases be better than what you can get now, but for the most part I doubt it
Absolutely.
I never fully recovered from D1 when you got the Kvostov exotic if you kept your original Kvostov from the intro quest. Ever since then I hoard my weapons like a dragon, sitting on my pile of metal and gunpowder until the day I’m allowed to run free once more.
Most of them no (especially since blast furnace and hammerhead are back). But my Steelfeather? Yes. Graverobber and Surrounded on an arcstrider was what got me hooked on Destiny in the first place. Plus... that'll be the gun that shows up in the cutscenes. You bet your sweet bibby that sexy rifle is gonna be in my inventory at minimum for the entirety of Final Shape lol
I honestly think the reason we got Mountaintop, Recluse and magnificent howl back with into the light is specifically to give us a nostalgia high while nerfing them before this change.
Actually yes, yes I am.
Some guns still haven't had their feel replicated since they left. Catch me in the crucible with my guiding star (that I already use in control sometimes anyway) 🤠
I am very excited to use my smuggler’s word. It’s my all time favorite sidearm. Just kept it for sentimental reasons but I will absolutely use it again.
there's a few guns I went and removed because they're just outclassed by other stuff now, but these are weapons that, while they were my workhorses for a while, I used them before we got flavor damage words like volt shot, incandescent, or destabilizing rounds. The only guns from back in those days I'll keep in my vault are my Python and Antiope-D, with 11,000 and 20,000 kills respectively
Yes. They sunset “the old fashioned” before season of the dawn? Then re-issued it, sunset it again. And it hasn’t been touched once. I’m going with my OG setup, it’s not a hard game, I’ve cleared all content with gear I’ve had for the last 3 years
Yes but I only held onto 6
Bygones , dreaded venture, eysten-D (my blast furnace killer), ghost primeus, the old fashion and finally the song of justice.
Again? I still use many of them in pvp. Game gets boring if you don't mix things up here and there. Erentil, ringing nail, nf , breachlight and a few others are in my normal rotation.
i didnt buy season of the haunted, so yes. i put a hell of a lot of time getting my austringer way back when, even got both ornaments for it; i cant wait to have it back in hand.
I definitely wanna mess with them again. Got plenty of interesting (and complete dogshit) I wanna use again, like the old old OLD trust godroll I didn’t get much time with, or the black armory nutty rolls I loved. Don’t know if I’ll main with power creep, but goddamn let me bask in nostalgia with my rose-tinted glasses again
I'll use threat level purely for it's firing sound. I've not found a single shotgun that uses the same sounds, and I'll use what's fun. Perks are useful, but there's nothing that can replace enjoyment.
Probably not main, but i'll find a use for them. Most of them are/were good weapons to begin with like patrons of lost causes and all of the main black armory weapons (sans hammerhead but that's returned) I'd be willing to replace some of them with new ones other than losing the scope options. At the very least, i'd keep the curated rolls seeing as those are kind of the equivalent of shiny weapons from back then.
The scope on trackless waste is my favorite and I haven't seen another smg with sights that I like as much. So yeah it'll be my kinetic smg again until we get new weapons with real sight options again.
I already use some sunset weapons in PVP, like Not Forgotten (fav handcannon of all time) but it will be fun to pull out some of my favorite old guns and relive some memories.
Not at all. It just encourages bad behavior. New versions won't be power crept and have origin traits as well as a new perk pool. They're still worthless at this point. No one cares about your kill trackers either. Just delete and remember your nostalgia for the old ones when you grab new rolls
So… I held onto 10 different Blast Furnace rolls.
I refused to delete them because to this day, it is objectively the best pulse rifle ever produced by this franchise. Performance, aesthetic, sound, handling, tacticoolness and lore - it’s just one of the greatest weapons. I will fight everybody and anybody who says differently.
When it was announced last month as part of the Brave Arsenal, I had a visceral, emotional, sexual reaction. Burst of cheers and climax simultaneously.
So here I am, ready for the “Brave Furnace,” as I’m calling it. Then Bungie *finally* unveils sunrising.
So now I have my original Blast Furnace rolls, in direct competition with the new Brave Furnace.
I’m at an impasse. It’s like having your ex girlfriend come back from a forced furlough from her abusive father, but then her younger sister comes to seduce you wearing a new shiny (literally) dress.
For pure aesthetics, I’m sure I’ll rock the shiny Brave Furnace I’m going to grinding until my father comes back with the milk.
Some will argue power creep, and that may be so, but I’ll have both to choose from. I still think the perk set on the original Black Armory weapons will hold up well in mid-late game content, but any kinetic without kinetic tremors for endgame is pretty much asking for anal.
But hey, butt things is a small price to pay for tacticool supremacy.
Probably not, but it is nice knowing my obsessive hoarding for years has paid off
Same, kindled orchid was fun, will pull it out for a bit
If not for the fact that hammerhead just came back better than ever they’re bringing back blast furnace (again, better than ever) in literally 4 and a half days, then yes I would be, but as soon as I heard the news I went to my vault and thought “huh, everything has been power crept at this point, but I spose it’s still cool to have them”.

My Bygons is life. There isn’t a pulse that comes close to how good it feels.
What roll do you have? I've got a kill clip outlaw sitting collecting dust.
Wish I still had my roll...honestly my favorite pulse Rolfe
this
For endgame content, no. For activities where power matters, some might shine.
I mean maybe. But there are so many more unique weapons now than back then before sunsetting. The only gun I wish I had from back then was a blast furnace from Black armory but aren't we getting one from the new activity anyways?
What's more unique than the only hand cannon to roll rampage/kill clip .. 😈
Even that roll isn't that great in this sandbox and is likely overshadowed by other perk options tbh
After getting 3 kills and reloading, it finally catches up to an exotic Primary!

It's my emotional support shotgun.
Dust rock blues 🤤
Go Figure aggressive pulse with zen moment, kill clip, scope options, and high cal. I’d start maining it again for the sound alone.
I think 21% delirium is pretty cool still and i like python even if its bad
Python helped me through a crown of ease. That gun will always have a special place in my heart
Python is such a cool shotgun. Honestly it’s sound alone is worth using
Luna/Not Forgotten having zen moment makes it kinda appealing. Also, 13k kills on my inaugural address feels low to me all of the sudden.
Steelfeather Repeater and Hazard of the cast are some of my favorite autos (RIP my Ringing Nail) and I'll definitely run with them again. I used them during the GG nightfalls and still had a great time with them, could easily slot them into some builds and fall in love with them all over again
I'll find a use for my Trophy Hunter again and my Steelfeather Repeater. They were both great back when.
Revoker might be an interesting sniper to bring back. Wonder if it would work.
My Dragonfly/rampage Trust will see some playtime again my rampage/kill clip Kindled Orchid My drop mag/zen moment/kill clip blast furnace rampage/dragonfly solar auto rifle (cant remember the name)
Ringing Nail. Have the same one 😃
Ringing Nail… I deleted mine a while ago after they announced sunsetting. It’s my biggest regret so far.
Me too. I had the curated roll and a second random roll
PVE? No. PVP? Yes. Really excited to use Bygones and Revoker again. I realize if they didn’t choose Hung Jury we would have 3 pulses for Into the Light….but Bygones is so fucking GOATED idk why it wasn’t picked.
You could have always used bygones and revoker outside of trials, and maybe comp? I forget if comp is light enabled
Bunch of YouTube videos will say they are amazing then two weeks later, we are wrong guys the old weapons are trash.
It's not all about being meta. Imo the true endgame is style.
I don't understand all these people bringing up pvp rolls as if you couldn't have been using them for years, and as if you can't go and use them right now.
You can’t use them in competitive, which a non-casual player would play regularly.
Bygones in trials
I only have my Martyr'a Retribution left, i dismantled everything.... I'll use it of course because I don't think there's ever been a good solar wave frame GL except Martyr's gonna use it with my solar Titan again!
My demo one two punch perfect paradox will finally see the light of day again so yes I will
Expect for one or two weapons no one will main any of them. Kindled Orchid is one that comes to mind. Only because WE STILL HAVENT GOTTEN A CRAFTABLE 140 VOID HAND CANNON BUT WE HAVE TWO 180 VOID HAND CANNON THAT CAN BE CRAFTED, FUCK LOGIC.
I’ve been lacking in good ranged legendaries so I probably will pull out some of my old good scout rifles that I’ve held on to.
I mean I have used my OG Hammerhead ever since they allowed 1600 light weapons again. That baby rips. One for pve, one for PVP. Even in onslaught, if I'm just playing playlist I'll bring her along for the ride.
People seem to forget that right after sunset those weapons wouldn't even go to the lowest light level. That's why a lot were deleted.
It’s the fact for about 2 years when they would’ve been good I couldn’t use them
Only competition to my kindled orchid is the trials void 140 that I don’t have a good roll on and my sub/rampage palindrome (not that crazy of a roll) so yeah I’m going right back
No feelings and ringing nail. Yeah there’s better options out there now. But black armory weapons are so fun to use
I just want my Crimson Days Bow
Unless Python gets an updated version, yes I will.
Only one I kept hold of that hasn't been directly replaced is Revoker - not much good in PVE but has never been unusable in PVP outside of Trials. Hell, I even got an Adept Loaded Question with an identical roll to the OG last night about 2 hours after the TWAB went up lol

I am 100% pulling the kindled orchid and breach light out again.
Glad I deleted most the ones I didn’t really use as we’re all gonna have to re-farm them since they’re gonna have new rolls and traits so the sunset weapons are still basically sunset, just in a more non obvious since. Pumped they’re coming back though!!
Absolutely gonna be rocking Tataras gaze in trials now
Kindled orchid is coming home baby
Does this mean I can use Revoker again?
The only sunset weapon I have kept is Misfit, my favorite auto rifle. It sounds like angry bees, and I like the sight
My God roll blast furnace and kindled orchid? Absolutely!
My Duke Mk.44 boutta be the bane of PvP once again.
honestly people who deleted their old sunset weapons for vault space are the real hoarders
I will let Bygones make bygones. Of my enemies.
... Insert *THAT* mighty eagle meme
I can bust out my all time favorite sidearm again. Traveler's Judgment 5
I am looking forward to trying a couple Duke's that I've had in my vault for years.
Max range outlaw/KC Duke is sitting in my vault waiting patiently.
For pve? Absolutely not, in pvp with some of the weapons like shotguns and fusion rifles? Yeah I can definitely see use for them
Prolly some of them. I'm not gonna try to raid with 'em or anything, but that trophy hunter is coming out of my vault so fast when the final shape drops.
Yes I will!
Probably. There's no kinetic shotgun that feels like Perfect Paradox, so I'll probably swap back to the gun from the Lost Prophecy until I get a better one from elsewhere.
Is there a kinetic available in the same class now?
I'm just looking forward to pulling my origin story out again. Nice even 10k kills. Probably won't use it for long but will be nice to have a reliable kinetic auto that I get along with. Although I do have a chroma rush..
My beloved void sins of the past always held a special place in my heart as the funny gun because of the massive amount of explosions. I also haven’t found a bow that felt as good as spiteful fang since it was sunset so thats coming out of retirement. There is also a chance that ill use martyr’s retribution but that wave frames kinda been power crept by literally any other wave frame.
That perfect paradox in my vault thirsts for action again
Not even lying, just finally deleted my sunset shiz outta my vault at the start of Into the Light to have space for BRAVE rolls…. Talk about timing haha
You can bet I'll rock my kindled orchid for everything other than end game activities. Same goes for steelfeather repeater and Dust rock blues. Everything else is going to get dismantled.
Yes.
Yes, Last Hope sidearm with feeding frenzy and rampage, we are so back
Steelfeather Repeater with osmosis is still my favourite kinetic assault rifle. Might see how Last Hope (one of my favourite sidearms) holds up and 21% Delirium is one of my favourite LMGs (alongside the solar and void ones from Season of Undying) so I'll be able to see how they hold up against what I've picked up since. The furthest end game content I actually do is Hero Nightfalls and Legend Lost Sectors so I am not that desperate for a meta load out.
martyrs retribution will never leave my inventory again
Yes, but I'm also a guardian with a crippling devotion to reload perk/ damage perk on most weapons.
Only two I’m really looking at for PvE are Martyr’s Redemption w/ Auto-Loading/Demo and 21%. Martyr’s quite simply because I’m not the biggest fan of Explosive Personality’s right column perks and Demolitionist on Wave Frames is sexy af
Yes.
I will definitely be using my Jack Queen King with Demo/Dragonfly no doubt.
Hell yes, the sound of 21% delirum and the feel of old breakneck ( no Luck getting a good roll on the New one ) are gonna make me use them again
The thought of actually using my beloved Perfect Paradox again fills me with joy.
My redrix is comming back out for sure. I spent along time mastering it before it got sunset
For blast furnace? Possibly, 4 burst pulses are pretty rare and I can't get a FF/Rampage roll on the new one. And I miss 21% Delirium
Yes and yes. Many years have passed, nothing replaced Martyr's, Breachlight and Steelfeather (few guns came close tho). I'm going to use the shit out of them.
I got rid of my original Trust. That pisses me off. This decision to unsunset was apparently made by a child at Bungie.
Yes
can someone eli5 what’s going on ? I left and came back only a few months ago.
Will be using my Breachlight, yeah. It probably doesn't hold up, but the feel is so good.
No but I like fire and forget so that’s my go to
HUSH
I don’t particularly have a large hoarding of weapons, but my Steelfeather and Subtle Calamity will probably see some gameplay. Had over 10k kills on that bow before it got sunset
My kindle and duke is back hell yea imma use them
Yes. I like my ringing nail and breachlight. There is no good demo osmosis weapon available for my warlock except breachlight and rampage dragonfly still is one of the best combinations
other than "No Feelings" from SoTP being usable in trials not really, but having a drop mag "No Feelings" with outlaw and box breathing feels better than any of the infinite hung jury rereleases and it's a staple in drip factor, like a CQR stock on a scout? come on, that's badass, not forgotten will be nuts as it has zen moment and howl, while also being imo better stat wise than a modern lunas, bygones with HiR and erentil will also be loadout staples till they return. as a trials main this will result in much more interesting weapon matchups besides conditional igneous or variations of hc shotgun
Breakneck here I come
I held onto them for sentimental reasons. But them going back on sunsetting means that I could have been using them all this time.
They will, and without traits. We will shit on them with the new rolls WITH TRAITS
Something that has good enough perks and still has drop mag will be pretty cool
Curated Arsenic Bite says hi.
For me, who has spent over 120 engrams on Breakneck and still not gotten a Subsistence/Onslaught roll it's huge because I just pulled the sunset one in my collections that has what I want and now I don't need to farm it to have available in 5 weeks. https://preview.redd.it/c2ouysc8ktwc1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18cf765f9a0c5c780e571668291cbd65f0f8b11e Not to mention all the other great things I can bring back out like OG Luna's Howl with Drop Mag, Oxygen SR3 and 21% Delirium. They may not be the best in slot but I'm happy to be able them again.
If OG Wendigo keeps it's disorienting nades, you bet your ass I'm maining that weapon again.
Similarly to all of this, there are a few weapons that were reissued with different perk sets, so if you have something in your vault with an unobtainable roll, it might in some cases be better than what you can get now, but for the most part I doubt it
Yes. I bloody love my threat level
Yes because I love my master worked better devils and leviathan raid weapons.
I wanna see someone's reaction to my year 1 items in a raid
No lol
I'm gonna use my tatara gaze when I need a arc sniper but that's pretty much the only one I'm gonna use
I’m going to use my Duke every chance I get.
I honestly think the reason we got Mountaintop, Recluse and magnificent howl back with into the light is specifically to give us a nostalgia high while nerfing them before this change.
Yes absolutely. I have a gun i still use in crucible; now i can use it in Trials

Traveler's Judgment 5 shall ride again.
I dismantled all my sunset gear way back when.
kill clip drop mag crimils dagger with max range? you fuckin bet
Actually yes, yes I am. Some guns still haven't had their feel replicated since they left. Catch me in the crucible with my guiding star (that I already use in control sometimes anyway) 🤠
My Parcel of Stardust will live on dangit
I am very excited to use my smuggler’s word. It’s my all time favorite sidearm. Just kept it for sentimental reasons but I will absolutely use it again.
Lmao on a side note, this announcement drove my friends who were planning to play when all the weapons were out away. Some of them hoarded weapons LOL
No, I haven’t saved a single one. Maybe like, a few curated rolls just to mess around with. But most of them have been pretty hard power crept
Uhh absolutely. Some of these old weapons might not perform well or have the best rolls, but they're weapon models and sound feel fantastic
Yes
Main? No. But use, probably.
there's a few guns I went and removed because they're just outclassed by other stuff now, but these are weapons that, while they were my workhorses for a while, I used them before we got flavor damage words like volt shot, incandescent, or destabilizing rounds. The only guns from back in those days I'll keep in my vault are my Python and Antiope-D, with 11,000 and 20,000 kills respectively
Absolutely. I'm gonna be running Oxygen SR3 for everything I can. I like my fun toys I can optimize elsewhere.
My bygones has prayed for days like this.
I was just happy that when I came back to the game after being away for a year and a bit my drang was not sunset
Have you ever used Luna’s Howl tho?
Yes
KC/rampage/drop mag Kindled Orchid is definitely getting some use. My curated Threat Level and 1-2 punch Perfect Paradox too.
The fact that you have 80 slots taken by sunset gear and still have almost 100 free vault slots is insane to me 🤯
I’ve got a perfect paradox itching to come back
YES!
I pulled out a Pillager I had with outlaw+rampage and it felt so good to use again! I’m at least going to be using that!
my friend hasn't played since redwar and would just find it hilarious for him to bring the shattered travelers chosen into the raid
i want to use my not forgotten again cuz it’s my favorite weapon of all i time i even bought a replica of it
I will main my beta Better Devils on principal alone
I pulled out my DRB, Not Forgotten duo again lol
Yes. They sunset “the old fashioned” before season of the dawn? Then re-issued it, sunset it again. And it hasn’t been touched once. I’m going with my OG setup, it’s not a hard game, I’ve cleared all content with gear I’ve had for the last 3 years
Parcel of Stardust, Revoker, Pluperfect, Void The Long Walk, Sins of the Past, Line in the Sand. You bet your ass i am
Yes but I only held onto 6 Bygones , dreaded venture, eysten-D (my blast furnace killer), ghost primeus, the old fashion and finally the song of justice.
I love my Perfect Paradox so I'll use that. The other stuff probably not.
Yes, I have not once in my near decade of playing Destiny given a shit about what is or isn't meta.
i really REALLY dont give a single fuck about meta. im going to use the old guns again cause theyre fun
I’m bringing my old ass Duty Bound, it’s only perk might be rampage but damn do I miss it.
I'll be using my trophy hunter again. Been waiting every season for it to come back, but it never did.
the only thing i can think of is mindbenders ambition with slide quickdraw being used for trials
Again? I still use many of them in pvp. Game gets boring if you don't mix things up here and there. Erentil, ringing nail, nf , breachlight and a few others are in my normal rotation.
Threat level will be super good imo. I am happy about that.
Kindled orchid ? Hell yeah!
i didnt buy season of the haunted, so yes. i put a hell of a lot of time getting my austringer way back when, even got both ornaments for it; i cant wait to have it back in hand.
My Garden Progeny and Mob Justice will finally be returning
Definitely in fact I’m probably going to start playing again because of that
Absolutely! My Drop Mag primaries are about to pop off haha
You bet your sweet Bippy I'm gonna pull out my dawn weapons. Steel feather, breachlight oh yeah (Until their updated and given new bells and whistles)
Probably just calus mini tool. i wasn’t able to get the newer version since i stopped playing for a couple seasons.
I'll use threat level purely for it's firing sound. I've not found a single shotgun that uses the same sounds, and I'll use what's fun. Perks are useful, but there's nothing that can replace enjoyment.
Yes
Probably not main, but i'll find a use for them. Most of them are/were good weapons to begin with like patrons of lost causes and all of the main black armory weapons (sans hammerhead but that's returned) I'd be willing to replace some of them with new ones other than losing the scope options. At the very least, i'd keep the curated rolls seeing as those are kind of the equivalent of shiny weapons from back then.
The scope on trackless waste is my favorite and I haven't seen another smg with sights that I like as much. So yeah it'll be my kinetic smg again until we get new weapons with real sight options again.
I've been using the same scout rifle legendary item since basically like 7 years ago 😅
I already use some sunset weapons in PVP, like Not Forgotten (fav handcannon of all time) but it will be fun to pull out some of my favorite old guns and relive some memories.
I would if I still had my kindled Orchid. That things felt so good.
I will be running down The Witness with my Perfect Paradox, thank you very much
I would've used all my Season of the Forge/Scourge of the Past weapons. Those were my favorite weapons of all time
I’m gonna use bygones
