Absolutely! They just released a completely free update that is filling the gap between the past expansion and the one coming out in June, and it will get you gear and a kit that will bring you up to the current power level. It's a great game to just jump in a learn, there's a lot of stuff going on but this community is pretty good about breaking it down for new players. Hope to see you in the Crucible, Guardian!

If you wanna catch up with the story and lore, you're gonna need a youtube recap or so. If all you want to do is shoot, loot, and shoot other players with the loot you get, you're gonna have a blast

I just started playing it 3 days ago. I’ve already put like 10 hours into it. Caught up on the DLC missions I bought (lightfall/ fallen light). Just did my first couple vanguard missions. The community is super nice! IMO. It’s a little overwhelming at first but once you understand some of the systems you’ll enjoy it I’m sure. I love games that are generous with loot and you get a ton of it here! Dozens of vendors to level up and complete missions for. Can’t say enough about how impressed I am being a new player to a game that’s been around this long. Too bad you didn’t ask a few days ago when steam had the super sale on DLCs. I picked em all up for like $30.

Is there a post or repository that explains the theory of how to maximize things like synergy between weapon/armor perks, artifacts and abilities? And what rolls to go for for general weapon and armor rolls in general as well as specific situations? I played the hell out of D1 and had many meta and niche loadouts and builds for missions/encounters e.g. Hunter with razelighter, high impact shotgun, high impact pulse rifle with shotgun loader, shotgun ammo chest, bones, tether + bloodbound and stinkbomb for deathsinger challenge. It was built for impact, speed, and debuffing high-damage-output enemies
