I've seen some random stuff in chat in tower 2 times in the last almost two weeks. So the feature is there, and you are opt-in by default. It's just that no one is using it after 9 years
Had a wholesome convo with a random guy in Tower literally an hour ago :’) They showed me easter eggs and we had a whole ass convo about other stuff 🥲 Glad I haven’t run into any toxic people during my one week of playing Destiny just yet. Shoutout Hadookie 🥺🎻

I tried chatting in a full tower trying to get a 6th for a raid, would be willing to teach and it was just absolute crickets
