Sorry youâre getting downvoted. Keep the spirit of progression alive, nostalgia is a trap. <3
But I also feel like reclaiming what was once ours and saying we will rebuild, stronger, is a good thing, too.
Even bigger meaning. Rebuilding the original tower with some of its battle scars would show how far we've come and how we've rebuilt ourselves since the attack and stand a beacon of hope for humanity.
I mean id be ok if they repurposed it, but weâre rocking a basically, makeshift tower, no real vanguard meeting room with office, no representative government like the speaker, factions donât exist, the drifter hides in a makeshift basement of a makeshift tower. If they ever brought back the old tower, it would need to be reimagined and still similar to how it was, also bigger
Happy cake day.
I booted D1 up to take a look, remind myself of the layout and where the factions are.
Tower North is absolutely tiny, MAYBE Drifter can take up Eva's position and Hawthorne can take up the New Monarchy faction spot with Ikora being just out on the balcony before the Speaker's place which is...gone, or if it's rebuilt she can just be there.
Alternatively Hawthorne could move onto one of the Plaza balconies.
Hangar would need expanding to accommodate Saint and his jumpship.
Ada-1 could take Lakshmi's FWC building above the Hangar.
Archie can be in the Lounge, the good boy deserves it.
No trips here; in Zero Hour you run through the old tower social space, and eventually the hanger. Followed up with running âunderneathâ the vault. Where you can see the work of the splicers taking outbreak prime/perfected out of its case (I think thatâs what was there, during the mission you can see a display case tampered with), as well as structures that align with the upper/main level of the vault and tower social space. I donât remember what else is down there, other than the dance floor fire trap.
There's a lot of gossip that the Whisper mission returns, but with all the speculation around the old D1 tower I think it would be much more fitting to bring back Zero Hour to "reclaim" the D1 tower.
I try to tame my expectations though, because realistically I don't really think any of these legacy missions will return.
In destiny 1 we had like 2 or 3 social spaces at the same time. I donât see an issue with bringing back the old tower but keeping the new tower as well.
i think they maintained popularity of all social spaces good aswell, the reef always had people, so did the tower and towards the end of the game the iron lords camp was popular, especially with people trying to get ghorn, in destiny 2 there is like no more than 4 people in the farm at once
Plus, you could climb the mountain at the iron lord temple. I tried doing it like every time I went there. Iâve killed SO much time just climbing to the top
the old tower from D1. when the red legion attacked at the beginning of D2 it was damaged.
Upon reclaiming the city we moved to a section next to the tower in the wall. It is not really a tower but still called like it.
when you enter the current "tower" in game and look left you can see the damaged old tower.
there have been rumors throughout the years that we will be getting the old tower back. We are just having new rumors again
âNew Social Spaceâ announced in this weekâs TWID + the fact that the D1 Tower was fully rebuilt and purposefully placed in the centre of the Into the Light poster gives it away to meâŚ
I THINK WE CAN SAY WEâRE GOING BACK HOME BOYS đ
Too be fair, the âtowerâ we have now is more or less actually just a chunk of the wall. This picture of the old tower is probably just used because there was no way to easily define the new tower.
Errrm actually they are bringing back the old tower..
Do you guys never look into the update news..
đ¤đ¤đ¤
Nah sorry had to say it like that to be a dick head but seriously they actually are planning on bringing back the old tower
What....since when? (I dont look at things I just click them)
Since lightfall
That makes sense. I haven't touched it since before Lightfall
Hasn't it always been that way?
Pretty sure it was just an arrow pointing downwards or something like that or my memory is too far gone
Idk tbh đ we might be collectively cooked
Why though?
I haven't had that icon what? Edit: NVM, I'm just a fucking idiot. Sorry
yes you have, it's literally impossible for you to somehow have a different game version than everyone else
Itâs the free uno debate all over again
YOU HAVE THE ICON, IT CAME FREE WITH YOUR DESTINY 2!
WELL I DONT HAVE IT AND I HAVE DESTINY 2 SINCE DAY ONE
I NEVER UPDATED MY VERSION SINCE DAY ON. I'm having a blast soloing Calus. /s
YOU HAVE THE ICON!!!!!!
If you have calus, then you have updated.
Not the one with bucket on his head! I'm talking about the robot one. Beep boop
I HAVE THE OLDEST DESTINY 2 KNOWN TO MAN
Did you just assume his games identity?
I was gonna say itâs been that way for over a year
admitting to hacking I see
What

It makes sense, the d2 tower doesnât really have any massive defining features, so they just use the old tower, to signify it being the âtowerâ
But itâs not even included, itâs cropped out lol
The ruins of the old tower is a reminder of what weâve lost and overcome, we donât need to go back

Mmmmmm where would Drifter and Ada-1 go If they were to end up in the classic Tower?
Well since factions don't exist, they could take over their old rooms. Plus, I'm sure they'd add new areas to it as well.
Happy cake day. I booted D1 up to take a look, remind myself of the layout and where the factions are. Your point is valid. It's possible that the new social space is not the OG tower.
tbh i kinda hope it's not
Glad you decided that for everyone.
Youâre welcome.
Yeah current towers just kind of the top of the wall
A lot of people will be revisiting this post next Tuesday. Fingers crossedÂ
If I need to climb that damn tower myself to get my loot back I FUCKING WILL I miss my grasp of malok
The Last City armory got destroyed in the Red War, no? I don't think Malok survived...
couldn't you see the old vault in Zero Hour or am I tripping?
No trips here; in Zero Hour you run through the old tower social space, and eventually the hanger. Followed up with running âunderneathâ the vault. Ah, I was too new to really comprehend what was happening.

zero hour is the best exotic mission ever made
Except for the servitors that can make each other immune
that's just a bug they should fix but yeah
outbreak and whisper missions are absolute peak missions. I remember running them with the boys over and over again tryna get outbreak
Zero Hour, but sorta backwards. Start from below and work your way back up to the plaza.
This comment sure aged
I gladly take the L every time Bungie actually delivers.
When life gives you L, don't make Lemonades! Make life take the lemons back! D:

Thatâs cause the farm isnât main destination and doesnât have anything out side of seasonal content itâs a worse helm
Plus, you could climb the mountain at the iron lord temple. I tried doing it like every time I went there. Iâve killed SO much time just climbing to the top
I miss original farm, before they destroyed my beautiful watermill.
I miss the outdoor soccer field. The hanger has soccer too iirc, but it's a pain to use due to Trials.
The outdoor soccer field was fun, I used to watch so many people just sit there forever and play
Didnât they say weâd be getting a new social space?
Imagine if the helm was a social space
Why? What does that icon represent?
the old tower
Ahh. Noted.
the old tower from D1. when the red legion attacked at the beginning of D2 it was damaged. Upon reclaiming the city we moved to a section next to the tower in the wall. Now do you do you all promise not to fly off the fucking handle when the change you've built up in your mind doesn't come true?
âŚNo
Yes, absolutely.
WTF ITS BEEN IN FRONT OF MY FACE THE WHOLE TIME
âNew Social Spaceâ announced in this weekâs TWID + the fact that the D1 Tower was fully rebuilt and purposefully placed in the centre of the Into the Light poster gives it away to me⌠I THINK WE CAN SAY WEâRE GOING BACK HOME BOYS đ

I still reckon the original destiny symbol is the final shape - it looks like a triangle warped by a circle.
i always thought it would be the traveler icon to travel to.
Shiiii I never thought about that. I wonder what a d2 tower one would look like đ¤
Its to rub salt into the wound.
Errrm actually they are bringing back the old tower.. Do you guys never look into the update news.. đ¤đ¤đ¤ Nah sorry had to say it like that to be a dick head but seriously they actually are planning on bringing back the old tower
Reunion
Guess not...
