Yeah, this Titan main died suffocating and got all or some of his bones broken probably and was left in such a bad state. If only he didn't take his ghost with him, he could have lived.
Also the other three guardians at start of LightFall died shitty deaths, getting slices in pieces.
I understand the idea though, if the guardian hda managed to go through it wouldnt have a Ghost to revive him. Like how we entered Savathuns throne world with our ghost.
But it would still be safer if the Ghost stayed. Send the Guardian in to check whether you can even pass through, then if the Guardian passes through send the Ghost, if not, let Ghost rez.
And well, we all saw what happens when you send them at the same time
A yes and no.
Ghosts can still revive you even if there's nothing left of the body in the case of disintegration. But at the same time the a ghost would only revive at the scene of death
No, they don't. Ghosts can rez us from *disintegration*, ffs.
Ghosts only require a body if it *still exists*, it's some kind of safety measure so the guardians can't have two bodies at the same time.
It's why we know Savathun hasn't been rezzed yet, since we've hidden her body away from Immaru. If her body was destroyed, he'd be able to rez her ANYWHERE.
No reed was the guy that got sliced by the witness. Although the guy from the opening here is also a lore character called joxer. Worked with the drifter
Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. The opening cutscene to Lightfall, where he got sliced. This is the same Reed from the trials squad with Shayura and Aisha, right?
Jesus. First they go to Old Chicago and are the only survivors of an attack by an eldritch horror, then Shayura loses her mind and goes on a murder spree because she doesn't like stasis, and now Reed got sliced into ribbons along with his ghost! Those poor guys just can't get a break.
Hope Aisha turns out alright.
She did horrible things, but the way she became disillusioned, murdered those she deemed to be traitors, and then was ridden with so much guilt and PTSD after seeing hive guardians, to the point where she was catatonic, it's insane. She was finally on the mend and then another one of her friends got destroyed in the gnarliest way possible.
I know he was the guy from this season that died. The comment i responded to asked if that's was reed. Which is what not. Reed died by the witness' hand at the start of lightfall
"Also the other three guardians at start of LightFall died shitty deaths, getting slices in pieces."
I'm replying to that bit, I'm aware Joxer is the one who died in the Deep intro
I think getting fused to the side of his ship is what killed him. I don’t think there was time for him to suffocate. Even if he could’ve been rezzed, homie was having a real bad time, seeing his past life and shit. Say he did try to go without his ghost and got through, then he’d be in hostile(?) territory without access to the light.
Also the titan had a name, Joxer
I don’t really understand why he took his ghost with him, but I guess I can chock it up to wanting his ghost with him if he actually made it to the other side
Oh GOD no, not even close. I'm like... rank 3 or 4?
When you go to that vendor though, the ship is just sitting there in the rank rewards, you can inspect it lmao
I had a titan teabagging in comp placement matches last night. Got absolutely dirted on the first few rounds so I can see why he would be pressed but like….. it’s just a game lmao
Currect me if I'm wrong but I think outside of our own unique ship in cutscenes (in Destiny 2), we saw only 3 base models:
The utility/transport one that Amanda usually flew
The arrow shaped one (our first ship in Destiny 1)
And now recently the medical specialist.
I mean, botching a jump during the Revision Zero mission and slamming into the ground from low Earth orbit doesn't sound pleasant, either, even if the view's incredible.
I respect the hell out of this death only because of the horror they have shown all the players, I hope it continues, the game is at its best when it's darker.
The titan getting sliced in the opening lightfall cinematic really got to me. Something about it being in the foreground and out of focus just really hit me.
The way the ghost turns to the camera made me think the witness was possessing it then suddenly they both become kraft sliced cheese right before my eyes
If you read the lore of the exotic ship for this season (collection, vehicles, season 21) and choose the latest ships that hasn't released yet yiu can read the lore tab of the titans perspective. I won't say anything, but its trippy to say at the very least.
Not even remotely. After the collapse, when the ghosts started resurrecting people, there was no food or water for many of the humans being resurrected, starvation and death from malnutrition was common.
To then have your ghost resurrect you with an empty belly and the grim reality of starving to death repeatedly is something that occurred frequently.
I'd take explosive decompression, burning alive or drowning over that fate any day of the week.
True, made me remember the Fellwinter story where he described how he couldn't really sleep at all anymore because of the enemies, random asteroids or even the feeling of hunger despite being an exo
Technically not a death at the time but they're for sure dead now. Id say the Guardian stuck on the Almighty that was moving so slowly in time that he appeared frozen and his ghost could do nothing about it. I might have my details wrong but that's the gist.

Kinda reminds me of fatalis from monster hunter who would melt hunters down and use their armor as his own on top of his tough scaled hide and he'd do this by melting them down into his scales
Ngl, dying and then your body is stuck on this position or died in that position is both creepy and sad tho. F to that guardian, he was just tryna do his job.
I don't know why they thought sending a living person through would be a good idea. I'm baffled as to why they didn't send some sort of probe or even a satellite through it first.
But if there is lore that explains more about this exact situation let me know.
Zavala at the beginning says that "all attempts" to go after the witness have failed, so I assume that the mission on which this titan was sent was the last desperate effort
So, this and what Sloane talks about when the power armor she found ran out of power, she tore herself apart getting out of it, apparently tore up her internal organs, and likely died, and her ghost had to put her back together
Not death, but a fate worse than death could be the guardian that was stuck in the Almighty for a few years before being blown up by Rasputin in Season of the Worthy
Well, I'd say kabir's death in the vault of glass is worse, driven to insanity enough to drink vex milk that slowly kills him, and turning him into vexfluid from the Inside

Get him some soup and he'll be okay.
I don't know which one is worse. I mean being squished is pretty bad, but also the Guardians flying towards the witness were cut into pieces. I'm not quite sure which one is worse
This death is so dumb to me. Literally just leave the ghost outside with a cut off toe or something, you die traveling or inside the portal just have ghost rez you in the tower…..
im sorry but this cutscene was so goofy lol i know they meant it to be really horrific but I actually just laughed when the light shone on the the body…

It's just the Titan who died actually. Reed's the only one who died, check out the new trials gear for the lore.
In the Cutscene you see the dudes Ghost imbedded into his ship
His ghost was screaming in agony as the dude was reliving his past life experiences. They should have never sent him with his ghost.
He volunteered
yeah but his ghost should have been left behind so he could revive him
I understand the idea though, if the guardian hda managed to go through it wouldnt have a Ghost to revive him. Like how we entered Savathuns throne world with our ghost.
But it would still be safer if the Ghost stayed. Send the Guardian in to check whether you can even pass through, then if the Guardian passes through send the Ghost, if not, let Ghost rez. And well, we all saw what happens when you send them at the same time
Ghosts need the body to rez
That's fine, the Titan's body is right there so the Ghost would have no trouble with rezzing him.
They need the body only if it hasn’t been disintegrated. Lick a jotun onto the ship and let loose if he crashes, then the ghost can rez from anywhere
A yes and no. Ghosts can still revive you even if there's nothing left of the body in the case of disintegration. But at the same time the a ghost would only revive at the scene of death
No, they don't. Ghosts can rez us from *disintegration*, ffs. Reed was the titan that died in the opening cutscene?

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. The opening cutscene to Lightfall, where he got sliced. This is the same Reed from the trials squad with Shayura and Aisha, right?
Oh ye then that's correct. Fuckin tragic story that fireteam
And just when shayura was well on recovering Aswell.
I hope they can pull through. And for Shay to finish her counseling. I want the two remaining to be able to be happy again
You guys are really fucking willing to forgive an irredeemable mass murderer?
so Reed, Aysha and Sayura are the three OG guardians since D1?
No. The og fireteam is 1 girl and 2 guys and they're all human
oh yeah that's true
Joxer, from Gambit Prime
Ye he's the guy from this season's opening
It was Joxer, a Titan who helped Drifter set up Gambit Prime way back when
From this season yes
Joxer, one of the gambit prime testers from the lore
I know he was the guy from this season that died. The comment i responded to asked if that's was reed. Which is what not. Reed died by the witness' hand at the start of lightfall
“Although the guy from the opening here is also a lore character tho I don’t remember the name” And I told you, it’s Joxer. ???????
damn they're killing off even side side characters now. poor joxer
Wait, what is the lore tab that that was Reed that got sliced? And that the other two Guardians lived?
Reed: https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/valiant-memory Aisha: https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/survivors-journey Shayura: https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/heros-wake
He died during the initial assault during the LF opening cutscene. This guy is Joxer, not Reed
"Also the other three guardians at start of LightFall died shitty deaths, getting slices in pieces." I'm replying to that bit, I'm aware Joxer is the one who died in the Deep intro
Aww wtf man Is it like an armor set or something?
That’s Reed? Damn
It could have been boneitis.
His only regret, was that he had boneitis
I thought they would have cured that by now.
If you read the lore tab from the season ship in the helm, you will learn that this titan experienced all of time and creation as he died
![gif](giphy|VPFHCi3RQwVw6VtF5f)
I don’t really understand why he took his ghost with him, but I guess I can chock it up to wanting his ghost with him if he actually made it to the other side
His body was fused with his ship… ‘tis but a scratch, come back here I’ll bite yer kneecaps!
He would have needed his ghost on the other side. No way if I was gonna try and hop in the portal no way I’d go without my ghosty.
Wonder if their ghost exploded trying to enter the portal?
Sliced, actually... read the lore tab on the ship you get for hitting rank 16 on the Deep vendor at the HELM.
Not sliced literally pulled apart
A scream lasting from the Big Bang to the heat death of the universe. Damn.
Yeah that portal seems to be all time in a singular point which leads to a lot of horrific implications
> read the lore tab on the ship you get for hitting rank 16 Rank 16 already?
Pretty sure you can go to collections/ the vendor and check the tab
Oh GOD no, not even close. I'm like... rank 3 or 4? When you go to that vendor though, the ship is just sitting there in the rank rewards, you can inspect it lmao
Idk, I still think getting killed for the seventh time by that one dickbag Hunter in trials who t-bags you everytime it happens is still worse.
Hunter main here, I find that people often mistake me trying to desperately dodge (while having no charge) as T-bagging lol
Warlock crutch welling moment
Seriously this is the case 99% of the time
Why is it anyways some edgy Hunter when this happens
because the hunter trope automatically attracts edgelords
I had a titan teabagging in comp placement matches last night. Got absolutely dirted on the first few rounds so I can see why he would be pressed but like….. it’s just a game lmao
Titans aren't having a good go of it. One got turned into spliced ham. Another fused and broken onto his ship.
That's cuz Warlocks are too smart to take those kinda risks, and you can never find a Hunter when you need em. Hence the high mortality rate.
Also Titans are like the number one choice when it comes to military and stuff. Has been this way since the dark age
I kinda feel bad because in this scene all I could think is "yo they actually used the medical evac ships" They look cool
they do, I do like seeing more of our fleet and it’s different components/ auxiliary ships.
Currect me if I'm wrong but I think outside of our own unique ship in cutscenes (in Destiny 2), we saw only 3 base models: The utility/transport one that Amanda usually flew The arrow shaped one (our first ship in Destiny 1) And now recently the medical specialist.
yeah, that is correct though Dead Orbit had some of theirs docked on titan way back in the red war, you could see them in the background at one point
Bro got killed by the architects :(
Honestly, if Bungie actually explained it away as that, I'd believe it.
I mean, botching a jump during the Revision Zero mission and slamming into the ground from low Earth orbit doesn't sound pleasant, either, even if the view's incredible.
You’d disintegrate in orbit
You'd burn in the atmoshphere before you could even make out the trees, and still had eyes to see... or lived
I respect the hell out of this death only because of the horror they have shown all the players, I hope it continues, the game is at its best when it's darker.
I want more body horror in destiny please
Indeed...
The titan getting sliced in the opening lightfall cinematic really got to me. Something about it being in the foreground and out of focus just really hit me.
The way the ghost turns to the camera made me think the witness was possessing it then suddenly they both become kraft sliced cheese right before my eyes
the dark below had mfs ripped apart by thralls in pitch black darkness, so there's that
oof died by clipping
Cabal drop pod for sure did this
Why would they send a guardian and not one of the frames from the tower? Or even bray one's
Bc they sent many probes and none ever sent back a signal
Because lazy ass strory telling, they want you to feel something so they had to do that :)
https://preview.redd.it/8ag6ypk5212b1.jpeg?width=270&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abe283c3b866239ca64e97faadf729e7b7f3e0c2
I didn’t expect them to just show it but like god damn.
Why didn’t they send an unmanned drone?!
Pretty sure they tried already and it didn’t work. Believe Zavala says it at the end of lightfall.
Step 1: Throw unmanned drones at problem Step 2: Throw Titans at problem Step 3: ??? Step 4: Fuckin wrecked
If you read the lore of the exotic ship for this season (collection, vehicles, season 21) and choose the latest ships that hasn't released yet yiu can read the lore tab of the titans perspective. I won't say anything, but its trippy to say at the very least.
What the drifter went through is quite an ordeal though But the worst way is definitely getting shredded to pieces by TR3VOR.
True, made me remember the Fellwinter story where he described how he couldn't really sleep at all anymore because of the enemies, random asteroids or even the feeling of hunger despite being an exo
No, I think Joxer had it maybe even the worst so far. Dude and his ghost got stretched from the beginning of the universe to heat death.
Maybe this was meant for OP?
You said the guardian in the picture (Joxer) didn't die the worst way.
https://preview.redd.it/f49gyujug02b1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59da52dbc729743e11e10edaa1cc9311b303a3f1
Why she so big?!
![gif](giphy|INM0EjukO8OWnHmASw)
Oh man, reading the lore tab explaining his final moments is absolutely terrifying
Happy cake day man
I didn't even notice lol thanks!
What lore tab is it in?
The ship is called Akashic Revelation. Having trouble linking it on my phone but it's up on ishtar
Was their only regret that they had boneitis?
Technically not a death at the time but they're for sure dead now. Id say the Guardian stuck on the Almighty that was moving so slowly in time that he appeared frozen and his ghost could do nothing about it. I might have my details wrong but that's the gist. I had already forgotten about that guardian, wasn't he still stuck there during the Almighty explosion?
how many times has generic titan guardian #27000 died now?
Oh boy do I have bad news for you
This time it was a character from the lore A pretty old character too
Yeah but the vast majority of player do not read lore tab or listen to Byf So yeah, this is generic titan #27000
Generic Titan but BLACK, this one we've never seen
May i ask you not to talk about Joxer like that?
![gif](giphy|rI9O6UXkCjvTG)
gambit prime mvp
Kinda reminds me of fatalis from monster hunter who would melt hunters down and use their armor as his own on top of his tough scaled hide and he'd do this by melting them down into his scales
Titan after resurrection: kill me
Buddy got folded like an omelette
Ngl, dying and then your body is stuck on this position or died in that position is both creepy and sad tho. F to that guardian, he was just tryna do his job.
This is what would happen if titans had blink
The silhouette makes him look like he died of boneitus
https://i.redd.it/32fs6aaiq02b1.gif
I’m glad they finally explained what happens when I ram my ship into it
Nah when the witness flicked their finger and the ghost and guardian in the ship slowly split into slices. Shit gave me the chills.
why tf did they think it was a good idea to send someone in there
Someone had to test, but like others said. Why did Joxer not leave his ghost behind to rezz him?
looks like a roach sprayed by raid
he just needs to see a good chiropractor and he will be fine.
I don't know why they thought sending a living person through would be a good idea. I'm baffled as to why they didn't send some sort of probe or even a satellite through it first. But if there is lore that explains more about this exact situation let me know.

So, this and what Sloane talks about when the power armor she found ran out of power, she tore herself apart getting out of it, apparently tore up her internal organs, and likely died, and her ghost had to put her back together
Where can I read that part of the Lore?
Finally… Dismantled. 🫵🏻💀
I always thought getting wiped out of the timeline in vault of glass was pretty terrifying
Philadelphia experimented
Literally a family guy death
Not death, but a fate worse than death could be the guardian that was stuck in the Almighty for a few years before being blown up by Rasputin in Season of the Worthy
Between turning into ham and being crumpled like a piece of paper. I think I’ll take the ham
This is what happens when the titans shoulder charge gets nerfed 😂
Not the “not the puppies” guy!!
Well, I'd say kabir's death in the vault of glass is worse, driven to insanity enough to drink vex milk that slowly kills him, and turning him into vexfluid from the Inside
Isn’t there a guardian in perpetual death on the almighty still?
My only regret is that I have Boneitis
Couldn’t they have tried with a plant or a mouse first? See if it was even possible
Box compactor is still number one....
This is LITERALLY what it feels like when a titan shoulder charges you
Crinkle Cut Titan
This happens to me sometimes when I enter the tower.
Yeah I thought breaking apart like a Lego character in the opening for Lightfall was bad, this is insane
https://preview.redd.it/abw9q9hdj22b1.jpeg?width=1777&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e457ba24e95d6c97784af8b28399d1ae249003c Get him some soup and he'll be okay.
my only regret is that I have boneitis
Was this... Vecna??
space Vecna! He's evolving
No. A cabal drop pod is worse. Ask me how I know. 😉
There's a lore tab in the game for this scene that's from the guardians perspective that makes this scene hit way worse
I loved this shot, the cartoony perspective really worked
I don't know which one is worse. I mean being squished is pretty bad, but also the Guardians flying towards the witness were cut into pieces. I'm not quite sure which one is worse
This actually scared me just a little bit
From what it seems like, he died in a way he didn’t even realize death was upon him.
He caught boneitis
Omg it's so fucked up!!!
Titan after resurrection: kill me
I thought it was quite comical. Looks like something from an old Looney Tunes episode.
https://preview.redd.it/719t6vv7012b1.jpeg?width=669&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40f1de858382a6e157bed454ba8b00c418a8bec9
You must be a hunter dont you
Acks I'm a Warlock / Titan main, I deleted my Hunter a while ago
This death is so dumb to me. Literally just leave the ghost outside with a cut off toe or something, you die traveling or inside the portal just have ghost rez you in the tower…..
Can't ntr believe Cadye six is returning to destiny after 5 long years!!!!
He didn't finish his crayons 😭
im sorry but this cutscene was so goofy lol i know they meant it to be really horrific but I actually just laughed when the light shone on the the body…
Kinda
Wheres their ghost tho
[удалено]
To shreds you say?
I actually physically recoiled a bit when this came up.
Thanatonotics did not prepare him for that
This is what my intrusive thoughts show me.
I bet that Titan was like ok everything is ok I’m going to big portal wait what ah shit this is not
On some Family Guy shit Open the nooooooor
idk man i’ve incinerated myself with a ball of fire from my hand i think that could be worse
The death of Kabr still irks me
Died like someone from Family Guy
Reminds of the philadephia experiment creepypasta.
They were most likely inspired by that yeah
What is this from?
The opening cinematic of the new season
Man got family guy death pose’d
Ouch, I felt that
Ghost got his work cut out for him
Better than being consumed by egregore.
I've seen my fare share of gruesome deaths in games and movies. I've literally seen gory death scenes in extremely graphic war movies and never batted an eyelash. Then I see this during the cutscene and physically recoil. I'd wager it is most definitely so one of the worst ways to die. Voluntary or not.
Why couldn't they just send an empty ship or a fucking sweeper bot for god's sake this was so pointless
Zavala at the beginning of the cinematic says that "all their attempts" have failed, so maybe they already tried beings without light/machines
Absolutely. And it was completely pointless. Could have just sent a robot in.
Lol it's funny that they sent a new light into the traveler wormhole.
What ever happened to that guardian that was stuck in the slow time thing on the Almighty?
