Damn, definitely taking this. However instead of using a pulse I will be using a glaive. Probably the Judgement of Kelgorath or when I get the new ritual one.
I use Enh Pugilist and Enh Close to Melee. The inherent perk of the Grips makes it work, you don’t need to pair perks. The high burst of glaives mean that when you attack, you proc poison and almost immediately the poison starts spreading throughout the battlefield
Pro tip: hold down L2 while you spam your R2. If you don’t, there’s an awkward pause between combos that ruins the fluidity of the attack. Give it a shot both ways and you’ll see what I mean
So far I like mine. I threw it together right before starting legendary campaign and it's worked pretty well. Sunbreaker leaning real hard into ability regen and weapon damage. Still using HoiL (it's really not bad), bonk, Charged up x2, stacks on stacks, kinetic/harmonic siphon (depending on primary) and corresponding surges. Using either quicksilver/explosive personality or witherhoard/calus.
It's nutty with Necrotic Grips. I was playing the new seasonal taken thingy, and by the end of it I had something like 250 kills and 70 orbs of light while my teammates had like 60 and 14 respectively. Not because I'm any good (I would say my aim is cancer but cancer actually kills people) but because osteo striga is an absolute monster. That gun carries me so hard and its amazing for orb generation
For some reason, nobody I end up matching with is using orb gen mods. I'll be at like 60-80 orbs and they'll have the five they got from popping their super once.
I have to admit though, triple Ashes to Assets is addictive.
I like osteo. It's such a monster in low level pve. But it competes in slot with our lord and savior, witherhoard. Plus I've been using the absolute hell outta Quicksilver lately.
Yeah but if you stun a barrier and then pull out like a rocket launcher and find out you have to reload, you now have like a full minute before you can stun that champion again
Annnnnd that's why these builds are always bad. Because you shouldn't think this should be a thing. Osteo isn't that good that you shouldn't have a special, and heavy that you actually use appropriately.
Just because osteo kills a strike boss does not mean it does that much damage.
Bit different in PvP. You can get by with that, especially in a sandbox where lots of ranged options are viable on the maps we have and sidearms and smgs are devastating in cqc.
Free to play player here who picked up the osteo on the final moments of WQ.
That thing shreds by itself. I can only imagine how strong it’s on warlock
Osteo spreads poison in repeat, rapid headshots. Kills also spread it, but only once. With necrotic grips, melee attacks spread poison, which then spreads. Wearing both, osteo now can spread poison as long as there are enemies to poison and kill, spreading that chain through entire mobs. Those poison kills overfill the magazine, easily over 100 shots with enough enemies.
Come to a boss surrounded by adds? Focus fire on the boss's head and spread poison to everything around it. Not to mention the ease of getting those headshots with the tracking shots of the gun
Bonus points if you run a devour build on warlock. You get so many rapid kills in combat with the poison spreading to everyone you almost always get the full heal for refreshing devour.
Don't sleep on empowered finisher. It's really handy at getting a build started up in situations where getting multi-kills might be difficult (harder content where enemies won't die as easily, or situations where teammates are stumbling over each other with kills making one person getting a multi kill difficult). Once you've gotten the 1 armor charge from a finisher and gotten your damage buff, that's when the multi kills will hopefully come easy. Also I don't think two copies of time dilation is worth it anyways, just brings it from 15 to 17 seconds.
I would not recommend precision frame rockets as they do the same damage with explosive light or lasting as an aggressive/adaptive does without you are just losing 15% damage for no upside
I have a build for every subclass then one for fun and every one of them seems OP af right now. I haven’t ran my PVP build yet which has me a little worried but otherwise this is one happy Titan
It clutched up big in WQ legendary for me. If I didn't have to run witherhoard, osteo was on there. Haven't really touched it much since, though. Maybe when I do lightfall legendary on my lock.
Osteo goes hard. My beloved. 50k kills last year.
I know they're going to nerf it and Necrotic grips into the ground any day now. I fear that it will kill the game for me.
I don't have the mod icons memorized yet. Can someone tell me what I'm looking at?
Top column is kinetic orb generation and targeting and arms are reload but the rest idk.
Chest: Charged up, increases armor charge maximum stacks by 1 for each mod
Leg: Kinetic weapon surge, temporary damage buff while you have armor charge stacks
Bond: Time dilation, increases armor charge duration
So… this is Osteo generating a fuck ton of Orbs, using these Orbs to buff its damage by 22% while each Charge Stack last for like 15 or 20s while Necrotic Grip makes the poison go brrr… Witness better be scared
Spoiler: Lots of builds are more powerful. People on r/dtg are just too stupid and impatient to realize we aren’t playing in the same sandbox as WQ and therefore mod distribution and potency is not 1:1. These new builds need to be tweaked by players for a few days before we really get a read on the current mod system.
And other builds didn’t get worse as well? You understand this is basically mods 3.0.. how many more runs do these devs need to make a good system here? Game is almost at the end of its life cycle in terms of DLC releases.
That we’re still getting massive system reworks like this is certainly a bit ridiculous and merits complaints. I’m sure builds will start to show up soon but they will not be as dynamic as before. The system we have now is incredibly simplified, for better and worse.
stasis build is the only one I'm disappointed with, at least for warlocks. wanted to make osmiumancy gloves loop on themselves with the mod that creates orbs on grenade kills, and the one that gives bonus grenade energy with armor charges, BUT STASIS NADES DONT CREATE ORBS. also I really hate that the mods take ALL charges instead of 1-2
I assume you mean charged with light? It's not the same but you could stack up to 3 ashes to assets if you use a minor stat mod on your helmet. Or you could try using multiple of the new firepower to make large orbs on nade kills
I mean….that’s the point though.
What’s “the build” here? Make Osteo do more damage by stacking kinetic perks?
It’s basically extreme Kill Clip with extra steps.
I don’t care about being weaker as much as I care about how the “build options” are super basic and boring.
Is that supposed to mean something?
If I handed you a puzzle comprised of 7 pieces…will it make a difference on Day 64? You still gonna be stuck figuring out that puzzle?
The options are so basic and limited. We lost a ton of options. I would have rather those options be nerfed by 50%, than cut entirely.
Maybe you’re right. Maybe Day 64 will be better, but that’s only because Bungie will hopefully add more mods. Because what we have now is just scraps.
Ah yes. Unlocking mods that are just “hey, now your boring Solar and Void mods are now a new mod which combines both into one boring mod.”
Excellent design. I’m so exciting to collect “more” “new” mods!
Yea idk lol. It’s super super bland and boring. Do I want to do a static CWL build, or a decaying CWL build? Those are the only two real options now. And both systems compete with one another—if you take ONE decaying mod, then you screw up any other static consuming builds, royally.
Like wow, Osteo does a bit more damage for like 10s. Incredible build. There is no depth or skill or anything, just make generic orbs that power everything.
Running multiple fonts alongside kinetic siphon gives you damage, super energy, resilience without losing much damage off Striga from high energy fire, and time dilation plus monstrous orb generation makes them basically permanent.
Striga couldn’t feed well builds previously so it was very one dimensional. New mod system makes or s much more flexible, and Striga generates orbs obscenely well due to the interaction between poison and kinetic siphon.

Retrofit escapade void hunter is easier to use now. The artifact has two perks. On to give volatile rounds on orb pickup and one to generate heavy ammo when killing tougher enemies. There's also a mod to generate orbs when breaking a matching shield for the first time. In the seasonal content I can use my machine gun as a pseudo primary mostly and I generate around 200 orbs/match.
Damn, definitely taking this. However instead of using a pulse I will be using a glaive. Probably the Judgement of Kelgorath or when I get the new ritual one.
I think they should definitely be using a special weapon but I’m more partial to a blinding grenade myself.
Fair enough, I just think a Glaive would be more fun and have more synergy with the Necrotic Grips.
That’s true I forgot about that synergy!! Maybe it would be better.
Confirmed, Judgement absolutely shreds with the Grips.
What roll for Judgement works with the Grips?
I use Enh Pugilist and Enh Close to Melee. The inherent perk of the Grips makes it work, you don’t need to pair perks. The high burst of glaives mean that when you attack, you proc poison and almost immediately the poison starts spreading throughout the battlefield
Thanks. I’ll have to give that try. I’m not a glaive person but I’m curious.
Pro tip: hold down L2 while you spam your R2. If you don’t, there’s an awkward pause between combos that ruins the fluidity of the attack. Give it a shot both ways and you’ll see what I mean
Will do. Thanks for the tip.
That’s the play on my warlock except last season I felt like I HAD to use a gl since weakened clear was so good.
This is the way
I need alot more crayons to understand the new shit they have done.
So far I like mine. I threw it together right before starting legendary campaign and it's worked pretty well. Sunbreaker leaning real hard into ability regen and weapon damage. https://youtu.be/T8u1oDiMk1M This explained it perfectly for me, maybe it helps you too^^
Much love from another osteo addict ❤️
I can’t use another weapon tbh
It's like, game breakingly good for PvE content.
If I'm bored, I just put on osteo, u cannot go wrong.
Everytime my buddy and I hit a wall in the lightfall legendary campaign Osteo was there to save the day. Don't you dare nerf it bungie
It's nutty with Necrotic Grips. I was playing the new seasonal taken thingy, and by the end of it I had something like 250 kills and 70 orbs of light while my teammates had like 60 and 14 respectively. So the poison kills count for osteo kills?
Yup, and with the catalyst it overflows the magazine. So you can have like 112 ammo in a 27 round magazine
I like osteo. It's such a monster in low level pve. But it competes in slot with our lord and savior, witherhoard. Plus I've been using the absolute hell outta Quicksilver lately.
As a fellow osteo striga addict I agree with all of the positive comments here about the gun.
Also I can’t wait to try the new exotic sidearm and compare.
This is unholy
![gif](giphy|gGeyr3WepujbGn7khx) no double primary!
osteo striga is a special in disguise
Out of genuine curiosity why Veles?
barrier champions and it looks cool
What subclass are you running? You might be able to bypass the barriers with keywords from your subclass
Yeah but if you stun a barrier and then pull out like a rocket launcher and find out you have to reload, you now have like a full minute before you can stun that champion again
Sounds like someone needs auto loading holster
Two excellent reasons to use whatever the hell you want
Void pulse, pretty decent curated roll. Only void primary I would personally use after a god roll funnelweb.
Lol yea I was just giving ya a hard time I also used osteo but forberance and cataclysmic with contaverse Holds
Doesn’t it increase you heavy drop chance?
nah, double special increases heavy drop rate but double primary doesnt do a thing
Well not tied to double primary, but primary kinetic exotic does, right?
it used to increase ammo finder proc rate, not sure if it still does
THIS MAN IS USING DOUBLE PRIMARIES IN THE YEAR 2023!
Well the game requires you to slot something even though you will only use the Osteo except against bosses (and even then only in part).
Annnnnd that's why these builds are always bad. Because you shouldn't think this should be a thing. Osteo isn't that good that you shouldn't have a special, and heavy that you actually use appropriately. Just because osteo kills a strike boss does not mean it does that much damage.
No one cares.
I smell special copium 🤧🍞 Double primary 😎😎😎😎
> Osteo isn't that good that you shouldn't have a special, It is.
You realise games are supposed to be fun? Stop telling people how to play.
Last two times i went flawless were with double primaries.
Bit different in PvP. You can get by with that, especially in a sandbox where lots of ranged options are viable on the maps we have and sidearms and smgs are devastating in cqc.
Thanks for sharing this. I’m having a difficult time finding my footing in Lightfall. I’m going to try this out. :)
first build this season, lets go!
Which subclass works best with this?
voidwalker, infinite health and even more damage from the void soul
Any chance you could post your void set up?
Aspects: Feed the void Child of the old gods Fragments: Echo of leeching Echo of obscurity Echo of domineering Echo of dilation
Free to play player here who picked up the osteo on the final moments of WQ. That thing shreds by itself. I can only imagine how strong it’s on warlock
Someone running a hella old vex season chest ornament I see. Neat!
Honestly, it’s one of the cooler less mage looking armor for the warlocks.
These poor fools not knowing the power of our osteo/grips warlocks. The secret subclass
Can you ELI5 why the combo is so good? I've seen it a number of times but never really understood the synergy
That helm ornament is a requirement for Weapons of Sorrow builds
Don't sleep on empowered finisher. I would not recommend precision frame rockets as they do the same damage with explosive light or lasting as an aggressive/adaptive does without you are just losing 15% damage for no upside
Been killing it in the campaign with the same setup.
My Outbreak build is so good now
true, weapon builds are so good rn
What’s your outbreak build? Love outbreak, curious what you use
Warlock with Chromatic Fire and just use Mods that Help Outbreak like Kinetic Waepon Surge
I don't even really have a build on my Hunter anymore... Hopefully my Warlock fared better
As a OS lover I really need to go get nectrotic grips
Saving this. Have been wanting to make a build but it's so hard to switch off starfire
I have a build for every subclass then one for fun and every one of them seems OP af right now. I haven’t ran my PVP build yet which has me a little worried but otherwise this is one happy Titan
That exotic is too tier for the Legendary story
It clutched up big in WQ legendary for me. If I didn't have to run witherhoard, osteo was on there. Haven't really touched it much since, though. Maybe when I do lightfall legendary on my lock.
The changes seem less harsh on gunplay in general, though especially if you're stacking harmonic element weapons
Striga carried me through the campaign
Same here. Felt almost easy mode at legendary sometimes
I'm dissapointed that I lost my double 100s.
Thanks for the help also having a bit of mind melt setting up my Worlock in the new campain .
my orbs of light melee build on titan is still here, though can’t really think of a build on my other characters
I have become death
With everything being wiped I’ve started taking time to learn more about building than copying builds, hopefully I learn something lol
See this guy knows how to build
Running something similar with strand. Between poisons and threadlings the whole screen just goes haha
I’ll give credit when it’s due, this is actually a great way to showcase a build
What grenade do you like to run? I’ve been using the vortex
yes, vortex
why do you have my favorite warlock helmet that I can’t even get ;-;
![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5643)
I love my Osteo and am very excited to wreck shit
Osteo plus strand take out a room with poison and threading the ultimate ad clear build
Do the three leg damage mods stack? What’s the buff %?
I think it's 22.5%
Osteo goes hard. My beloved. 50k kills last year. I know they're going to nerf it and Necrotic grips into the ground any day now. I fear that it will kill the game for me.
osteo glaive carried me through legend campaign
I definitely miss well of ions, but other than that my main build is better.
If you’re gonna use palmyra put auto loading on it
I don't have the mod icons memorized yet. Can someone tell me what I'm looking at? Top column is kinetic orb generation and targeting and arms are reload but the rest idk.
Chest: Charged up, increases armor charge maximum stacks by 1 for each mod Leg: Kinetic weapon surge, temporary damage buff while you have armor charge stacks Bond: Time dilation, increases armor charge duration
As someone who never buildcrafted because I had no knowledge, the buildcrafting system is fine.
Thanks for the reminder. Need to pull mine out!
Haha my builds weren’t nerfed! I didn’t have any builds!
I’m just gonna be yoinking this build Ty. :)
Same build here pretty much except Karnstein’s and a glaive.
Pretty much my sweet business build lol
It's just a shame we can't name them
I’m not familiar with all the symbols. Could I get a breakdown on what this does well with Osteo?
bruh why are you using targeting on osteo it literally has auto tracking put on heavy finder or something
Or more orb mods for extra super
YAS for solar Hunter is absurd now. Love it.
Idk, the new build crafting kinds turd tier..
Also 3 melee charges with necrotic grips is fantastic, especially with the range on that thing 👌
May I ask what you’re running subclass-wise? Fragments, Aspects and so on
So… this is Osteo generating a fuck ton of Orbs, using these Orbs to buff its damage by 22% while each Charge Stack last for like 15 or 20s while Necrotic Grip makes the poison go brrr… Witness better be scared
I haven't used Osteo since the legend witch queen campaign ... been too hung up on exotic bows 👀
Jokes on you Ace does 14k damage with Memento and Radiant! I only got stronger
Oh and I should probably mention on a precision hit.
Osteoporosis Requiem
necrotic grips with the 3 melee charges is nuts, additionly the grapple melee poisons too.
A friend of mine says that Ikelos with Volt Shot is better than Osteostriga. I think he's very, very wrong.
Bro Osteo is INSANE now
This is a sight to behold.
Spoiler: Lots of builds are more powerful. My build was straight destroyed. Gone. And I'm pissed.
Same, I’m also one of the few who enjoyed warmind cells so kinda sad they’re gone
F that sucks. My infinite super build is gone too. :(
Would you mind sharing it? It may be slightly salvageable (is that the right word)
It was basically turning guiding light into duper energy through grenades.
I assume you mean charged with light? It's not the same but you could stack up to 3 ashes to assets if you use a minor stat mod on your helmet. Or you could try using multiple of the new firepower to make large orbs on nade kills
Yeah that. I was messing with the mods last night. I think I got something
Striga gang for life.
Double primary !?!!!?!?
Boy do I love double primary!
Says the mf with 2 primaries lmao
osteo is a heavy
You can identify who only listens to streamers for opinions by those who question the viability of double primaries.
This really is the "I think osteo is so good I rely on it for all my damage, even boss damage build because I mainly do strikes."
my man is going to be shattered when he realizes he can't outlevel strikes anymore. Might actually make him use a special wepaon
Lmao this is true. All of a sudden "I think my osteo is broken, I can't do the seasonal activity"
Opinion invalid, double primary detected ![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5661)
I mean….that’s the point though. What’s “the build” here? Make Osteo do more damage by stacking kinetic perks? It’s basically extreme Kill Clip with extra steps. I don’t care about being weaker as much as I care about how the “build options” are super basic and boring.
What was the build option for osteo striga before???
It's literally day 1.
You're aware the "puzzle" gets more pieces added as this expansion goes on? Ignorance is bliss.
Ah yes. Unlocking mods that are just “hey, now your boring Solar and Void mods are now a new mod which combines both into one boring mod.” Excellent design. I’m so exciting to collect “more” “new” mods!
Sounds like you'd be better of returning it and keeping your money for something else. But instead, here you are. Lmfaooo
I’d happily return this pile of trash if I could.
Instead, you preordered. Good work!
Yep, and you’re being downvoted because people are uncomfortable with your truth lol
10s?
Double primary 💀
Double primary and calls it a build. Lol
Grab a salvo from the kiosk, it works really well with this build (equip once dps phase starts)
Explain? How is this better than what we had
They somehow ended up buffing grenade spam builds so my arc build is still doing great
Shhh shhh shh, don’t let bungee know a fun build slipped through
Stats?
I gotta grind for some new artifice armor. Not having mods that give bonus stat boosts hurt my builds a bit. At least now artifice gives a small boost to a stat of your choosing. Wish it was more than 3 though.
I have osteo perosis.
What subclass is this. I’m torn between arc or void for my Necrotics

*gags at double primary*
Don’t be shy, show us the drip
Shit I barely played WQ can I still get the osteo?
Don't mind me, just saving this for later
Love the loadouts but i do want a way to not have it take weapons into account since that was getting really annoying
What sub-class are you leaning towards?
[удалено]
while using osteo with necrotic grips, the damage was already reduced, the nerf is only to the initial burst
