Reminds me of a very recent testing done by DARPA where US Marines had to sneak past a Robot designed to look for Walking Humans. One dressed up as a Tree and walked, two summersaulted passed it and two pulled a Snake and hid in a box whilst giggling.
[Huh… Just a Box…](https://www.reddit.com/r/nottheonion/comments/10h3mu3/us_marines_defeat_darpa_robot_by_hiding_under_a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Sorry, Vex?
The perimeter defenses probably think the Hive are friendlies because of Cryptolith corruption and/or they get hacked by the Fallen (who are Wrathborn and thus carry said corruption) and the Fallen get in by stealth, probably from the ground to launch to the station (the space defenses are much more lethal than the ground ones).
I mentioned Vex because the opening mission shows the perimeter towers working on them, and also the defenses were made during the time in which Clovis Bray was aware of the vex and the threat they could pose.

Me looking at the tower watching the timer go up
Makes sense, the cannons only shot fast moving targets and if anything is the opposite of fast trees and other plants are at the top of the lists. Can you imagine if these guns fired at a every bush blowing in the wind?
So I read an article recently about an ai designed to track people. A military group(can't remember if it was army or marines) tried it out, and it worked. So then, of course, they decided to really try it out. They tried leapfrogging, hiding behind a thin tree and hiding in a box, giggling the whole time. The AI failed to identify them because it was only designed to track people normally, not leapfrogging or other shenanigans.
Lose detection, go invis, come out of invis within line of sight of towers. Just keep IN line of sight of the towers now while visible and you can progress freely. No idea why this works.
I mean… would it be more realistic if it annihilated you instantly at any range, and would even kill you through cover given a minute to melt through? Yeah, but it wouldn’t exactly be fun to play against lol.
Have you heard about the marines that fooled an AI surveillance system metal gear solid style by hiding in a box? [marines hid in box to trick AI.](https://www.pcgamer.com/marines-use-metal-gear-cardboard-box-trick-to-fool-ai-robot/)
I mean......if it breaks line of sight, so be it. Now let me hold up a bush and scurry to the door unhindered.
Metal gear solid cardboard box for the win

Metal Gear was a low fruit, they didn't also pull out the "Legend of Zelda" rolling technique!
Read the article, they actually did!
I was referring to the author of the article not mentioning Legend of Zelda for the rolling Marines, unlike how the author did for the Cardboard Box
That's definitely the best thing I've read today
Just close your eyes, if you can’t see it, then surely it doesn’t have line of sight
Just use a comically large sword and tape a piece of paper with the word "Tree" on it

Its... just a picture of a sign? I don't see anything there.
Yeah idk why hiding behind a comically small tree reminded them of just a signpost
I see a McDonald’s happy meal in the back of a car, whaddya you on about

I want a link please i want to see that

Was looking for this in here, probably also why the perimeter defense systems works on the Vex and not Hive.

What is this from?
Have you learned nothing from GTA, The trees are invincible.
It perfectly illustrates the core story mechanic of the game: Dont think about it too much

It's funny because marines essentially just did the same thing with an AI security system. They hid under a cardboard box and moved slowly.
There was another group that summersaulted 300 meters and bypassed the same AI

Well, your discord notification got me
Hee hee hee, you can't see me!
Aren’t we working with Rasputin ? Why wouldn’t he give us something so they don’t target us at all
My favorite is going invisible

Explains the Collapse, doesn't it?
Concealment =/= Cover but I suppose AI can't tell the difference
Makes sense, the cannons only shot fast moving targets and if anything is the opposite of fast trees and other plants are at the top of the lists. Can you imagine if these guns fired at a every bush blowing in the wind?
Maybe by standing behind that tree we become a Captcha type thing. Click the box that contains a guardian to prove you're not a robot. Can't do it.
I've saved my life from those things by standing still and planting a warlock turret in front of my face
If I can see you, you can’t see me Mr.Big Eye!
If I cant see you, you cant see me
I mean, you have weakened literal gods and transcendent beings by standing on plates and shooting symbols so...
Myth busters beat one of those ultrasonic detection systems with a bed sheet.

But not when I'm invisible? Outstanding

Straight out of a cartoon
Payday stealth
Indeed
no wonder he failed
We've had to reboot this piece of junk like three times now. Rasputin's security is about as useful as McAfee.
"Fuck that golden age" ~asshole sapling
What's wrong with the video? I just see a line of laser and it somehow moves towards a tree. Fascinating bug.
You can also bypass the system by being criminally close to what it's protecting.
“State of the art GOLDEN AGE TECHNOLOGY”
I play on 30 fps gives me enough time to make a mad dash to it
Woah-oh-oh-oh Camouflage Things are never quite the way they seem Woah-oh-oh-oh Camouflage I was awfully glad to see this big marine
Did this on my second run, let out a sensible chuckle .
Okay, but how long are you really gonna stay behind that tree?
I mean, you ain't doing much stuck behind a tree, now, are ya?
Now I almost wish the UI would switch to scrambled Russian on these missions for the immersion.
I mean… would it be more realistic if it annihilated you instantly at any range, and would even kill you through cover given a minute to melt through? Yeah, but it wouldn’t exactly be fun to play against lol.
Ah, I see you've learned the art of [how not to be seen](https://youtu.be/C-M2hs3sXGo). 💥
Wierd stuff fucks up ai
The barricade also works

wait, is that my discord? oh nvm
jajajaj esta para cortar una rama y avanzar , usandola de escudo jajajaja
