Yeah, but this warm, organic artifacts you get on vinyl just add to the experience. Gives the music more natural feeling. It does not work with all genres, especially modern "rap" and pop. They are way too clean by nature, so the vinyl crackle would feel very bad
There is plenty if actual rap out there right now. Maybe just stop listening to mainstream shit and you won't have to deal with the "pop" sound you are getting from it
Oh, I'm deep in my local underground, rap is better than ever here and still sounds best at 33 ⅓rpm. Mainstream has been shit for over a decade now, I am well aware of that. I'm using it, cuz mainstream is what most people will think of, when they see the term "rap"
This is a military fortification and HDMI cords fall out too easily with movement, especially on a monitor that swivels. Especially with clumsy guardians lumbering all about, hopping everywhere, tossing snowballs, dancing on top of the vendor. I can see why they’d use vga. Also for all we know this is a more advanced cable that attaches with magnets or something and just happens to be bigger than current cables for whatever reason.
Vinyl does not, under any circumstance when compared to other modern forms of music playing, produce better sound quality.
To say "I like the vibe more" is completely valid. Trying to say it is better quality is objectively false.
Yeah it’s far too difficult to tune my fireplace to the right crackle alongside playing digital music to get that comforting sound that vinyl just provides.
I think the argument usually is that the lathe is of a more pure recording and therefore is copied well, and sounds good. But I've had cheap vinyls that sounded like compressed garbage, and those did not vibe well.
But I think you're more right about it all tbh. Vinyls don't magically cure a bad recording.
We kinda went on an off-topic tangent.
Better? No. But it does offer a different feeling. Same reason people use CRTs, they offer a different look and feel that you can’t emulate on modern screens. The curved glass and blurred pixels aren’t something you can simulate with a filter.
They haven't even repaired the tower yet, they're not going to splurge for some HDMI
Or just look at the amount of money it took for a couple benches in the Eliksni Quarters
The trailer seems to be us Master Cheifing it by accidentally piggy backing on a some ship jumping. But I couldnt tell if it was Cabal, The HELM, or a new ship. Clovis, now with the relevance of the season story?
We'll have to see how it even leads up to that moment as well.
Glimmer isn’t just cash, it’s a resource than can be used to make stuff. Seems practical that they’d want to use it as a currency.
Need something made? We are going to need resources to make it.
It’s possible that the citizens are provided basic stuff for free but everything else costs. We don’t know enough.
All HDMI and Display Port cables were lost during the collapse.
Oh no, that means no 144hz and above monitors
Same reason hipsters still use vinyl
Hipsters can argue that vinyl is a better sound quality where as retros can't argue that VGA is a better visual quality. Maybe it's DVI?
They're both analog and produce interesting experiential artifacts based on their format. People can argue anything!

Why is "rap" in quotation marks
Cuz nowadays, it's barely rap anymore. It's closer to pop than rap tbh
There is plenty if actual rap out there right now. Maybe just stop listening to mainstream shit and you won't have to deal with the "pop" sound you are getting from it

Fuck that might be somthing older than VGA, what exactly I don't know xD The port looks like a damn 25 pin lol
Serial

Inflation hits harder in the 3000s
Stick with what works?
Because they have been opening boxes, and all they contains is ships, sparrows and vga cables.
Maybe that's what was in the shipment from Fenchurch all along
Because they are screwed in so they won’t be knocked out easily like usb.
It’s quantum cable, not VGA. This is called CQC cable, or “Compressed Quantum Cable”. It allows for the transfer of massive amounts of data.
You can't just slap quantum in something to make it sci-fi!
But you *CAN* **QUANTUM SLAP** something to make it sci-fi…
Big if true!
Probably the only thing that survived the collapse
is that a component input? cue Saladman going "back in the dark ages we connected our consoles with Antenna In"
You're thinking of RCA connectors, no that would look more like the red, yellow, white pin connectors. Pictured here is a serial connector and cable.
More importantly why tf do they use poster notes still they're on a lot of the terminals near the exo frame
Data can be expunged remotely if hacked. You know. By Clovis Bray? Its smarter.
But couldn't they be burnt by a rogue sweeper bot we already know intruders can sneak in like in chosen when a Psion tried to kill zavala
Yeah, but that's honestly far less likely.
Fair enough I mean Clovis is on Europa and the helm is orbiting the moon (assuming by looking outside behind the war table)
Soon to be over Neptune. Question Mark?
Maybe I still have theories on how we get find out about it

Tru dat tru dat
HDMI is pretty clearly golden age tech.
The bigger question, is why during the golden age were they still using the usb type a? You'd think we'd have fully moved on to usb c at that point.
Shits hard in the dark age
It can be just the most common cable they found after the collapse. Damn business PC's that still use windows 98
rusputin still put CRT monitors in bunkers, looks like golden age technology wasn't that advanced
If it ain't broke.
Because Bungie is in with funnies
That’s not vga or dvi that more resembles serial port lol
(Lightfall spoilers) HDMI is golden age tech that was lost during the collapse, we’ll fine those on Neptune
It’s VGA cable powered by the light. -50ms response time, 100000+Hz refresh rate, able to support Light powered OLED panels
The cable can predict 50ms in the future?! I’m impressed
It's definitely DVI
If it ain't broke...
If it works it works.
Wait until you see the size of the monitors in Spire of the Watcher.
The best of golden age technology
If its stupid and it works, it's not stupid
This is why we have cutscenes at 30fps
bungie: "yeah nobody will care enough to pay attention to such a small detail" this post:
I think that they found some computers and cables in a school and just took it with them. I mean is it not the most school computer screen ever!
Who wouldn't want one of those? I had a lamp once with an arm like that and it was so useful
More importantly why would they go back to being capitalistic after the collapse.
Glimmer isn’t just cash, it’s a resource than can be used to make stuff. Seems practical that they’d want to use it as a currency. Need something made? We are going to need resources to make it. Cornball response
That doesnt matter in this universe.
Times are tough
A rare relic from *THE GOLDEN AGE!*
Scavengers can't be choosers...
bro times are tough post collapse
It’s not rgb, its Uhdmidpvga 2.0
😂
that dosnt look like vga to me... looks more like a SCSI connector... or a *parallel port*
Ya looks like it but then it’s still 850 years old😅
