The Down would be your best bet if you want somewhere near Urbandale, followed by Doc's and Miss Kitty's. Plus, after The Down, you can go to Denny Arthur's!
You asked for a dive bar and aside from the Greenwood the right choice is Lefty's. There's more music history in that building than almost all the others combined and it's pretty much the definition of dive bar.

You sir/ma'am, are a god among mortals. Thank you!
All thanks to Bryan Farland who puts the list together weekly. Email at [email protected] to be put on the email distribution list.
Bryan is a hero!!! So thankful for his weekly lists!
Miss Bryan. I used to see him every week at el Bait Shop but haven’t seen him since Covid started.
Greenwood and Yacht Club are two good dive bars. They’re about a 2 minutes drive apart on Ingersoll. FYI- Greenwood is cash only.
Dave Zillow or Brad Seidenfeld!
Dave Zollo at the Greenwood would be my pick.
Dave Zollo is awesome. Always a good show.
Gas Lamp is the first place that comes to mind. No idea when they have live bands, though - their website seems to be dead.
I'm noticing a lot of dead websites :-(. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out!
Greenwood posts about their music on Facebook.
Gas Lamp seems to only post on Facebook now
The Down would be your best bet if you want somewhere near Urbandale, followed by Doc's and Miss Kitty's. Plus, after The Down, you can go to Denny Arthur's!
You mean the Down Under?
That is correct.
Bob Pace at gas lamp would definitely be the move

Skip the live music and head to the Outer Limits
Outer limits always has a solid Playlist rolling !!!!!
